Creationist or evolutionist? What should I be called?
I am a creationist, but I have no problem with evolution or any proven science. I believe that this universe was created by a supreme being that created the world and gave life forms the ability to evolve. When the creator made the universe, He did it by creating a big bang and that He created the Earth about 4.5 billion years ago. This does not go against my religious beliefs. I am a Christian and the Bible does not say anything against evolution or the age of the Earth. It only gives a brief outline, but does not go into detail on how it all came into existence. It tells you that God did it, but doesn't say much else. So how can any Christians say that evolution is false or atheists say that this world is not created? I support science and God.
Another way of asking is: where in the Bible does it disprove the big bang theory and evolution and where in science does it disprove a supreme being?

My cat came home one evening and it's face was swollen and it looked like it had been in a cat fight. The swelling went down, but there was still a hole in its face. I examined it and there appeared to be something moving in the hole. I took it to the vet and the vet pulled out a strange looking worm. It was round on the bottom (it may have been coiled up) and the mouth of it looked like something form the movie Dune. I didn't ask the vet what kind of worm it was, he only called it a worm, but now I am curious of what it was. I've searched the internet for it, but did not find anything like it. It was about the size of a quarter. Does anyone have an idea what it was? It was not a tape worm, flat worm, or anything like that.

Since you guys did a great job on my last movie question, here is another. I have asked this before, but did not get the right answer, so here goes: the movie was filmed near my home town Pikeville, Kentucky. All that I remember about it is that it involved coal mining and in one scene a man collapses in a ditch. A boy sees him and points at him. I don't recall what illness or injury the man had. I know the movie had scenes showing coal trucks. My mother was friends with the mother of the boy in the movie. The movie was made in the 1940's 0r 50's. I am positive it was made before the 60's because it was made before I was born. The stars of the movie stayed in a hotel in Pikeville, Ky but I think the film was shot in other parts of the county or perhaps the next county over, Letcher County. I'm sorry I don't have much to go on, but I'm hoping someone knows the name of the movie.

I've asked this before, but have never gotten an answer. The movie begins with a witch being hung and I think she may curse the people for hanging her before she dies. It is during the 1600's. She and the people watching the hanging are dressed like Pilgrims. Then the movie moves to modern times and a family buys a house that is on the property of the hanging, I think. Then the witch appears as a ghost. I remember one scene of the witch laughing. The witch, as best as I can remember, looked similar to Endora on Bewitched, but I don't think it was her. I'm pretty sure she had red hair. This may have bee a tv movie because the CBS LATE MOVIE used to show it in the early 70's and it seemed like a tv movie. I first saw the movie around 1971 or 1972 on the CBS LATE MOVIE and no doubt had already been show. The movie was made probably between 1969 to 1972. I saw it a few times, but have not seen it since. I hope someone knows this movie. It is NOT a well-know movie. I know that a family buying a haunted house is a common theme, but it was a low budget film. I have tried searching the web and even tried IMDB, but have come up empty.

The Declaration of Independence states "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness". But does this go for unborn babies?

Many people have stated that science proves that there is no God, but I have never seen anything in science that disproves God--and I have studied many physics and science books. Evolution itself does not rule out the possibility of a supreme being giving life forms the ability to evolve. The Big Bang does not prove that a supreme being did not instigate it. In fact, I support the Big Bang theory and have no problem with evolution. I am not tying to change anyone's minds to believe my way, only that I have never seen a scientific formula or law that absolutely disproves an intelligent being in the universe. One point I am trying to make is that I don't see why I can't believe both points of view. Contary to popular belief, the two views do not contrdict each other. There are people that try to do just that, even Christians, but strictly reading the Bible and science books, I don't see a problem. It is how you interpret it. We can argue over religions all day, but my question is simply: where in science does it disprove a supreme being? I know there will be those who will ask where is there proof that there IS a God? My question is my proof. If you cannot disprove something, then it at least can be in the realm of possibilities. That is my main point, I guess. I also know that there will be some accusations of how Christians force their religion on people and name calling and calling anyone foolish who believes in God. But, I am not calling anyone who does not believe in God any name nor am saying they are foolish or stupid. I respect your beliefs. I want to keep the responses within the confinds of my question. We can respect each other an answer the question as adults. I'm looking for a sciencfic responses.

Actually, I'm not looking for an discussion or argument here. I only want to know why people are so quick to put Christians down and their beliefs. I mean, whenever someone on here asks a question about Christianity, there are many people that start saying how the Bible is a fairy tail or something like that. I can understand if someone asks an honest question "do you believe in the Bible or Jesus?" and someone saying yeah I believe or no I do not believe. Or someone questioning how can God exist or the Bible be true. But to put down the person or call them idiots for believing is wrong. Why can't we respect people for their beliefs? You can answer a question and still be respectful.

I saw a UFO last night. I heard an airplane flyover my house about 10:00pm and I went out to see it. About the time it flew over a hill another light caught my eye. It had two lights on the side and in front of it there was a small point of light. The bigger light was following the smaller point of light closely. In fact, it moved as if it was one object although I could not confirm if it was. It made no sound at all. Planes and jets often fly over my house and you can always hear them easily. This object did not appear to be flying as high as jets usually do. It appeared to be flying about 5000 feet up but may have been higher. I watched it for about 3 minutes (I had binoculars) and then as it got close to a mountain in the distance, I saw several aircraft fly near it in various directions. I am not saying that this thing is a alien craft, just something odd. It may have been a jet refueling in flight, although that does not explain why it made no sound. Also, for months Ii have been seeing a similar object, though not as low, flying in the same direction. The previous craft was high and appeared to traversed like a satellite but I could see something protruding like an arm. But all I could see basically was a point of light and the extension. I have seen this object two or three times now. But last night, it was much lower and I could see it better.

Amendment I says:
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
To me I simply read that congress will not make any law respecting a religion or prohibiting someone from worshiping however they want. I do not see anything that says there cannot be a religious symbol on Government or public property. I'm not looking for an argument, just good debate.

4 AnswersTheater & Acting1 decade agoI have an overdue library book. It has been overdue for 33 years. Should I return it?
It is a book on Daniel Boone that I checked out in April 1977. I never did finish it, either. I have been thinking of waiting until the library has a "free overdue book day" so I won't have to pay. I owe over $500 in overdue fees at the 1977 rate, so I probably owe much more in today's money. Maybe I should finally finish it before I take it back. Then again, a week after I checked it out, my town had a massive flood and the library lost everything it had. So, they have it on record as being destroyed. They got federal and state money to replace the books plus my parents gave a $10 donation after the flood. So, am I legally bound to give it back and pay the fine?

I know the two terms are used interchangeably, but they are really two different forms of government. A Republic is representative government ruled by law (the Constitution). A democracy is direct government ruled by the majority (mob rule). A Republic recognizes the inalienable rights of individuals while democracies are only concerned with group wants or needs (the public good). In a Republic, you have the right to do whatever you want as long as you do not harm anyone else. In a democracy the majority decides how you live your live. The founding fathers warned against Democracies beleiving that individual rights are more important than majority rights. Which would you prefer? Living your life as you want (providing you do not hurt or harm others) or live your life as the majorty wants you?
1 AnswerGovernment1 decade agoI can't get rid of Weblin from my taskbar. How can I do that?
I downloaded Weblin and found that I did not care for it. As soon as I donwloaded it, I started getting adware warnings so I uninstalled it, but it still shows up on my taskbar. My computer is now shutting down because of memory problems. I tried several adware, virus programs, but none gets rid of it. I had no problems whatsoever until I downloaded Weblin so I have no doubts that the program is the problem. I am using Windows Vista Home edition and my computer is a new computer (less that six months old). I guess my question is in two parts:
How do I get Weblin off my computer completely?
Will gettin rid of the virus/adware take care of the problem?
