My friend had a fire in his home & his insurance company put his family in a rental home for 3 months until repairs were made. I tried calling a few insurance companies, but was transferred a half dozen times and did not get info I needed.

I signed up for Match.com. Every so often I get several notices within a period of an hour notifying me someone is interested in me. I am in my 50's and the winks Match forwards to me are women old enough to be my daughter. When i try to view their profiles, I usually get a message saying " his profile is no longer available." Even when i tried to view their profile within minutes of Match.com sending me a message saying this person is interested in you. Today I got an email from a Match.com member saying she wants to chat with me. She gave me her Match Chat ID. So I download Yahoo Messenger so I can enable Match.com's plug in and every time I tried to send her an invite I got an error message. I called Match.com customer service and asked them about this. Right off the bat she says, match does not send fake profiles to people to make them think they are getting results. Problem is, I never mentioned that or did I accuse match of doing that. has anyone else had the same type of experiences as a member of Match.com?

I have taken old pets before to the vet when they were sick and both times the vet put them to sleep. I can't do this again. My cat has all the symptoms of kidney failure. I feel guilty I didn't take him to the vet six months ago. I am not sure that at 21 years old, there was anything a vet could do about his kidney failure anyway? I have pain meds for cats and can keep him comfortable until he dies. I prefer he dies at home instead of putting him to sleep at a vets office. Am i doing the wrong thing?

I signed up for a trial membership to MATCH.COM. The first few days I was swamped with email notices from women. I'd get an email saying a female was interested and when I went to view her profile, I got a message saying. '' Profile No Longer Available.''. One one occasion I was looking at my email and got the alert from Match.com that a female was interested. I clicked on her profile link in my email and I got the same message. I am 59 years old and was getting Wink Alerts from 28 year old women. Now I do not believe a dozen of so girls that young were interested in an average old guy. Were all these Wink Alerts sent from Match.com to get me to sign up after my 7 day free trial? Something didn't smell right and I didn't join. Has anyone else have this happen to them?

I have a small 650sq ft coach house at the back of my property that I rent out. I had the electric service upgraded a few months ago from 60amp service to 100 amp service. Now the tenant has gotten 253 dollar electric bills in April & $209 May. This is insane. I looked at the new meter and there is an adjustment screw I can see that says Faster to the left & slower to the right. I called the electric company three times now and each time they tell me the tenant must be using this amount of electric. No way. I even brought up a recent article in the newspaper about a home owner getting a $49,000 electric bill one month. The customer rep would not even acknowledge the possiblity of a problem. They also would not send anyone out to look at the meter. Why is there an fast & slow adjustment screw to make the wheel turn faster or slower in the first place? All I want the electric company to do is see if this adjustment screw is set to run to fast. Does anyone have any ideas?

I bought a 40inch Sansui LCD TV from Best Buy. It is a year and a half old. past the warranty of course. I changed cable providers from Comcast to Dish network. The TV is in the spare bedroom so I don't watch this TV very much. I just noticed last night while watching the NBA playoffs that the TV cuts off part of the picture on both sides. For example, the scoreboard box was missing half of the box. When the Spurs were winning I got just the Spurs score with the Heat's score cut off at the end. I changed stations to CNN & Fox. Sam problem I got an "F" & half an 'O" & for CNN, a C and half an N. I tried to change to screen size where it gives you the option Normal, 16:9, Theater wide & Full. The problem did not go away. I disconnected the cable to my Dish box and hooked up a Digital Antenna and it did the same thing. I did not notice this problem before. Any ideas on how to fix it? Other than that, the picture is fantastic and everything else works fine.

I live a small 700 ft coach house at the back of my aunt's property. My uncle built the house in the 50's and he insulated the house very well. He even put insulation between the first floor ceiling & the attic. Plus there is insulation in the ceiling of the attic. The windows & doors are new. The house has electric heat. I have gotten 250 to 300 dollar electric bills even with the thermostat set at 68 all the time. My aunt has a house that is 1400 sq ft. Her heat is 78 to 80 all winter. She constantly leaves her front door open with just the full glass storm door between her and the cold. She says she feels closed in with the doors shut. She has baseboard heaters that were installed in the 80's. My house has all new ones. Her bills are 150 to 175 a month, half of mine. There is no way I am using that much electric. I called Comed to check the meter but they never do it. In some of the Chicago suburbs, there have been at two articles in the newspapers of home owners getting a monthly electric bill of $40,000, $102,000 electric bill. I brought this up to a Comed rep & she would not even acknowledge it. So there is a possibility the meter is not working properly. Do I call an electrician and see if I can get a new meter? Or is Comed the only ones that can change the meter? Which they won't do since they will not even come out to test the current meter.

I read where the inheritance/estate tax exception will be lowered to 1 million dollars in 2013. Down from 5 million in 2012. Is this automatic or does this depend on what happens with the financial cliff negotiations? So for example if someone were to inherent a family business that is valued at 3 million, in 2012 that person would not have to pay estate taxes on that business? Starting in 2013, the heirs who are left the family business would have to pay the IRS 50% of the value of the business, 1.5 million dollars?

I have a 2003 GMC Envoy. All the power switches on my drivers door are dead. Prior to this happening, I would hear repeated clicking noises just like the sound of the door locks opening & closing when you press the remote. In searching on the internet, I guess this a fairly common problem with Envoys. When reading auto forums, others have called the part I need a Drivers Door Module, a Power Module & several other names. When I try to find the part online using those names, nothing comes up. I called a Chevy dealer & they asked for a part number since there are several modules that control the power options on an Envoy. Does anyone know the exact name of the part I need?

I want to apply for a line of credit on my house to add a second story to my ranch house. My house is paid for. I need to borrow $30,000 for the addition. My credit score is 752. I have two medical bill disputes as the only negative items on my credit file, which I have disputed. Both are under 100 dollars. If I just pay both of them, will that get me a better interest rate on the line of credit since that would raise my credit score?

WiIl both give me a high definition picture on the major network stations like CBS, NBC, ABC & WGN?

How do I make my 50 inch TV into a wireless external monitor for my lap top computer. I have it hooked up with a cord, but I'm afraid I will forget and trip over the cord and possible knock over my TV. I do have a router in another room with my desktop computer. My laptop is used wireless and I do have Roku which I use in a wireless mode also.

I have a Toshiba 50HP95 Plasma TV. The other day my TV would not turn on. I went online looking for a solution and it seems this is sort of a common problem. There was a video on You Tube from a guy who had the same problem. He disconnected a small connector in the back of his TV and it worked fine. I downloaded the schematic for my model TV and found the plug he was talking about which was on a panel in the back of my TV called "Sein FPD Full Non Lan Board" Does anybody know what this board does in a TV? I don't understand why the TV would work like new by disconnecting one of the 5 wire connector to this board. I called Toshiba's Tech Dept and they had no idea. Besides wanting to know what this Sein Board does, if i continue to use my TV with this connector unplugged, will it eventually ruin my TV

Is there a device or meter I can buy at Home Depot or Lowes that can tell me how much electric my electric furnace is using? I want to take the amount of KWH and multiply that by the rate I am paying. My house is half the size as my mother's who also has electric heat, and her electric bill is less than mine. With this mild winter in Chicago, there is no I should be getting a 300 dollar electric bill last month. Comed said it was an actual meter reading, not an estimate. They also claim there can be no mistake. Yet they had no answer when I mentioned the article in the Chicago tribune last week where a homeowner got a $100,000 electric bill last month, which was obvisiously a mistake

How do I save a video from You Tube or other web sites to VLC Media Players while I have the video playing? On Real Player, I was able to right click on the mouse and a box would popup up asking me if I wanted to record video to my Real Player. I like VLC better than Real Player, but I can seem to figure out how to do that with VLC. Thanks

Every time I try to play a streaming video off the internet, a box pops up. In the border on the top of the box it says

Inside the dialogue box it says

CONTENT (VIDEO/X-FILE FOUND)

DO YOU WANT TO DOWNLOAD IT TO C:\USER

The video will not play unless I click the box to allow it. This just started happening today. How can I stop this box from popping up. My streaming videos alway started automatically untill today
