Trying to see if there is truth in the Rumors?
Growing up my Granddad used to tell us we had native american ancestry. How do I find out if there is any truth to this as he was quite the bull shiter. The main reason I am doing this is I am applying to a native american college and because it is so competitive the adviser told me to find out if I have any native blood. This could help me get in. Please Help!

Ok this is a repost from words and word play and licensing and registration. But you gals and guys usually have some good stuff. so my hubby just bought what I'm calling his Hillbilly DELUXE! Not a big fan of his new ride, but it will serve its purpose. Hauling the family into the hills for camping, fishing and hunting. What I am looking for is suggestions for license plates. It needs to be either Hillbilly or Hillbilly DELUXE. I only have 7 letters to work with. Or if you have any other cute but funny ideas that would be great too!

3 AnswersWords & Wordplay1 decade agoWhat do I look for when purchasing a bike?
I'm 5'3" and looking for a good bike. I haven't ridden one in years (10 or so). I just need something to ride on paved and unpaved rural roads. In the future I may get brave enough to ride some mountain trails, but this probably won't be in the to near future lol. I also would like to get a pull behind trailer for the kiddos. Basically I need something comfy, beefy enough to pull the kiddos in a trailer, and easy to use. How do I know what size to get? As I mentioned I'm 5'3"? What else do I look for? Any suggestions on bikes? Please help....I'm clueless when it comes to this lol

I need a good checklist as well. Any suggestions to avoid becoming bridezilla? Thanks for all your help!
9 AnswersWeddings1 decade agoswimsuit help...Rude comments not needed thanks!?
I need help finding a swim suit for my not so hot post baby body. This maybe a little too much information for some of you, but I need something that will cover my stretchmarks on my belly and help lift the ladies and they are on the large side (DD at least) I don't want something racy for obvious reasons, but something that is a little sexy. I am thinking maybe a tankini preferably under-wire, but what do you ladies think?
5 AnswersFashion & Accessories1 decade agoa baby is born!!!..................?
So for those of you who are regular users of Y!A you may have noticed that I have not been online in awhile (3 weeks). Well, I had my little boy 3 weeks ago today! He gave us a scare at first but is doing well now. He was born with a fever, wouldn't cry and poor coloring (purple). After spending a week in the NICU and receiving antibiotics for that week we were released. We were very fortunate and the hospital allowed me to stay there after I was discharged free of charge so that I would be able to breastfeed him on demand. He was 8 pound 5.5 ounces and 21 1/4 inches long. Much larger than I expected as my 1st was 6 pounds 13 ounces lol. How is everyone doing???
17 AnswersPregnancy1 decade agoQuestion about mucus plug and bloody show?
I'm 40w1d and lost my mucus plug this morning. I haven't had any bloody show, but have been having contractions that are about 5 to 7 minutes apart. They don't hurt, but my lower back is killing me. Is it possible to be in labor right now, or is it just my imagination working over time again lol.
9 AnswersPregnancy1 decade agobad cramping at 39w6d. What is going on?
I am 39w6d with my second child. I went to the doctor yesterday and am dilated between a 2 and 3 and 80% effaced. He swept my membranes as well. I know the baby will come when he is ready, but I don't know if my Imagination is working overtime lol Every time I get up to walk I get bad cramps. My lower back is killing me too. Are these Braxton Hicks or what is going on? With my 1st I was induced 11 days early so this is all new to me lol
10 AnswersPregnancy1 decade agoAnyone else having this problem? I'm 38w5d (TMI)?
I'm 38 weeks 5 days and have been having sporadic contractions. They will be very regular for a couple of hours then just stop UGH. I have been having what feel like killer menstrual cramps too. Also when I have these contractions pain shoots down my legs almost like sciatic nerve pain. My main question/dilemma is that every time I have to go pee, I also poo. Even if it's just a little. We're talking every 45minutes to an hour. Is this normal? This has been going on for about a week and a half.
5 AnswersPregnancy1 decade agoQuestions about IUD's?
So my fiance and I have had 2 unplanned pregnancies. He was told he could never have kids hence our 1st. The 2nd was another oops oh sh!t, but not a mistake. To prevent another unplanned, pregnancy we have decided on me getting an IUD. The options we have are either him getting snipped or me getting an IUD. I feel that we may want another child down the road, and if in 5 or so years we both decide we don't want anymore he will go get a vasectomy. Ok, so now on to the questions. Does it hurt when they put it in? I will be having it put in at my 6 week postpartum checkup. Have any of you had any complications from the IUD itself? Do I have to routinely check to make sure it's still there? Can your partner feel it during intercourse? Can you feel it? Are there other things I should be concerned about? Thanks in advance for your input!
3 AnswersPregnancy1 decade agoHaving some killer back pain. What can I do?
I woke up this morning and my lower back all the way around to my lower abdomen was killing me. My legs were all cramped up. The pain in my back has not really gone away and I am still having some minor cramping in my abdomen. The pain is bearable, but any suggestions to make it go away? I'm at work and this sucks lol
BTW: I'm 37 weeks today, and this is my 2nd pregnancy.
3 AnswersPregnancy1 decade agoJust a fun question for pregnant women?
How far along are you, and how much do you have left to do. I'm 36 weeks and have to do pretty much everything. I need to turn in my preregistration packet, clean out the babies room/rearrange, wash the walls in the house, shampoo the carpets, wash the babies clothes and do anything else that may come up lol. With my first I had all of this done by 25 weeks lol, but with this one I'm such a slacker. I really need to get a move on!
8 AnswersPregnancy1 decade agoHas anyone ever heard of this? (TMI)?
I'm 34 weeks with my second and the other day when i went to the bathroom (pee only) and I finished I went to wipe and things just didn't feel right. So i felt a little closer. It felt like everything was swollen and pushing out. I didn't call the doc or do anything I just thought I would wait it out. Well, when I went to the bathroom again later it still felt like things were swollen, but not pushing out anymore. Long story short I was talking to a friend about it and she freaked. So I called the doc and went in. He didnt' really do an exam just looked and said everything was fine. He said it was probably just because the baby is so low that he's cutting off my circulation. Has anyone else ever heard of this or experienced it?
3 AnswersPregnancy1 decade agoWhere do I start????????????????????
My bf/fiance recently proposed and now I'm on to planning the wedding! But where do I start, it all feels so overwhelming. The wedding won't be until Summer 2011 so my brothers can be there (the are both getting deployed to Iraq), but UGH! How did you choose your colors, bridesmaids and their gowns, your gown etc... My very dear and close friend is going to help me do all of the planning as she did her own and 3 others and they all turned out beautiful.

I asked this question yesterday, but only got one answer. Hoping today will bring more. Thanks in advance :)
I have 2 questions. First I was thinking about using my son's old infant seat for the new baby. We bought it last spring so he was only in it for 5 or 6 months. We were in a car accident so for me buying a new one was mandatory and this was the replacement. The infant seat we have is nice, clean, and we considered it safe for our older son, is there any reason we shouldn't consider it safe for the new baby?
Second I drive a small car. How do I arrange the car seats in the back seat? If I put the infant seat in the middle, my older son's forward facing seat won't fit (at least I don't think). Do I put the infant seat on the drivers side or passenger side? Thanks in advance for your knowledgeable answers.

16 AnswersBaby Names1 decade ago1st time sending son to daycare?
My son is 22 months old and has never been enrolled in a daycare. My parents watched him until he was 9 months old, then he went to a private babysitters. Recently there have been things that have happened that aren't cool such as giving him red bull, painting his finger nails, letting him bite, teaching him to throw gang signs (I live in hick-ville USA for God's sake my towns population might be 1000 people) etc.. Basically they took "treat him like one of your own a little to seriously. It was her teenage children doing this, so I talked to them. The one was very apologetic, but the other layed on the couch and glared at me. The mom was very defensive and made a very rude remark, whatever. My question is what questions should I be asking potential daycares? What things should I be looking for? Any suggestions appreciated.
