Linear equations, gaussian elimination help!!?
Hello!! I'm very very very new to this kind of concept, it's a part of my uni degree which I am sort of suffering through as it's a compulsory unit and I am terrible at maths.
Could anyone help me out with this question? With a little bit of explanation on the way. I've looked at youtube clips and done some research but am still feeling lost. (A & B are particularly what I struggle with)
The sum of Annie’s, Bert’s and Chris’ ages is 60. Annie is older than Bert by the same
number of years that Bert is older than Chris. When Bert is as old as Annie is now,
Annie will be three times as old as Chris is now
(a) Write down a system of linear equations that describes this information.
(b) Use Gaussian elimination to reduce the corresponding augmented matrix to row
echelon form.
(c) Use back-substitution to find the ages of Annie, Bert and Chris
1 AnswerMathematics7 years agoCage door closed on birds neck?
Hello I feel like a terrible owner right now and am hoping for some closure!!
I'm currently training an aggressive alexandrine parrot who is too afraid to climb back into her cage after being out and will not let you handle her. So to put her back we normally hold a smaller cage up to her where she will step in, then she goes from the small cage into her larger cage.
Problem was today the door of the small cage accidentally fell onto my girls neck. She screamed for maybe 3 seconds before I could pull open the door.
She's back in her cage acting completely normal and eating and playing with her pine cone. I'm still a bit worried though.. Is there anything sinister I should look out for?

3 AnswersMathematics7 years agoMy bird and I have separation anxiety?
Basically I have a pet cockatiel named Charlie, he's honestly everything you'd want in a best friend. He loves me unconditionally, loves to cuddle, loves to play, protects me and never leaves my side whenever I am at home.
His issue is that when I'm not around he frets.
In the morning when I wake up and roll over in bed - he knows it's me and starts screaming constantly until i come downstairs and get him (He doesn't scream when other family members wake up, he somehow knows when I do though!)
If I leave him in a room by himself he will either follow me, or not notice and when he does realise he screams and screams until i go retrieve him.
He will not sit with any other family member unless I am present. And even then he gets bored of these family members and always preferably will sit with me. He attacks my father very aggressively whenever he is standing.
He even can tell when I am home from a walk when I am over 50 metres away from the house and will screech until I enter the front door.
Basically my issue here is that I am going on a trip for a week and can not bring the bird with me, he will have to stay at home with my family. In the past I've spent 2/3 nights away from him and I've been told by the second afternoon he will scream continuously, will not sit with any family members and will fly around the house apparently 'searching' for me.
I'm very scared that leaving him will stress him out to such a high degree he may become sick.
I love my little boy to bits, but the clinginess is getting overwhelming and I don't want to spend my time away worrying if he is alright and knowing that he's miserable.
Any tips for how I can help my birdy out for the week I'm away?

1 AnswerChemistry8 years agoElectronegativities of elements and bonding types?
Hello! The following question is on a practise test of mine and I have NO idea how to complete it.. I've attached an image of the mentioned graph.
The electronegativities (EN) of elements X and Y are 3.44 and 1.00 respectively. What bonding
type would be present in the elements X and Y and in a compound formed between X and Y?
A bond type diagram is provided to assist you.

Here are the possible answers
element X--element Y--compound of X and Y
a) metallic--covalent--ionic
b) covalent--metallic--ionic
c) semi-metallic--metallic--covalent
d) metallic--covalent--covalent
e) semi-metallic--metallic--metallic
1 AnswerChemistry8 years agoNMR Spectroscopy structure help!?
http://i514.photobucket.com/albums/t342/brittBRAP/...
Hello! I've attached a link to to the question I'm having trouble with!
Basically so far I've deduced that the molecule is C4H8O2 but have no idea how to use NMR spectroscopy to determine how the ppm is determined by C atoms...
I know to use a table of chemical shifts to help determine the structure.. But honestly I am so stuck!
If someone could tell me which is the answer and explain why I'd love you forever!
1 AnswerChemistry8 years agoWhat kind of Makeup would you suggest for this dress (pics)?
Hello, my formal is coming up in November and I've got my dress and shoes and most things under control. But I have no idea what kind of makeup I'm interested in wearing.
My shoes are a dark blue/purple (Matches the colour in the bust area of the dress - which is actually a little darker than in the picture)
Here is the dress from pretty much all angles

1 AnswerMakeup9 years agoWhat colour should I dye my hair to go with this dress?
Hello, my year 12 formal is in November. Thing is I bought a dress and it's yellow..
Yellow has NEVER been my colour, I have fair skin and platinum blonde hair. I will be getting a tan for this formal, and yes I'm getting a practice tan done so I don't turn up like an oompa loompa.
I just have some concerns about my current haircolour. I still definitely want to be blonde but maybe a different shade? Any suggestions!?

1 AnswerFacebook9 years agoDifferent ways to say appearance vs. reality?
Hello! In my english essay on hamlet I need to explore the notion of appearance vs. reality.
We've been told appearance vs. reality doesn't flow nicely but the notion must be explored.
So does anyone know any different ways I can say it?
1 AnswerWords & Wordplay9 years agoI had a knock to my teeth today, I'm not sure if it's loose?
Today I was cheerleading and we threw our girl up, on the way down as I went to catch her the back of her head smashed me in the mouth. At first my lips were hurting most, and then I realised she hit my teeth HARD. I was in so much pain and iced my gum too.
It's my right front tooth and the gum hurts so badly, i think i'm paranoid so i think it's VERY slightly wobbly. But I'm not sure, I don't know what to do. I can't get to the dentist anytime soon.
What do you guys think? I know you can't feel it or see it or anything but please contribute something?

1 AnswerEconomics1 decade agoI have white blonde very damaged hair, I need to dye it. What colour? (pics)?
My school won't allow my white hair anymore and I've realised how damaged it is anyways.
I would like to dye it darker but anything too dark would look terrible because I'm very pale and have naturally strawberry blonde hair. I don't want to go back to that colour because I used to be teased and really do not like how I look with that colour hair :)
This is me
