I am completley new to the whole dslr thing and I really want to upgrade from the standard point and shoot. I have read many reviews on the Canon XS and the Nikon D3000 but I can't decide which one I should get! Could someone tell me some pros and cons or differences between the two so that I can figure out which one I want... also any other feedback on these two is also appreciated...

There is one store opening soon in Bramalea City Centre and its that only store in Ontario I think :S , there are some in Quebec and mostly in Europe. I checked the website but have no luck finding an application. I need help! I really want to apply before it opens and I need to know how I can do that... I have decided to upgrade from an average point and shoot camera to a digital SLR camera but I do not know which one would be affordable and easy to use. So far I have researched two camera's and just need input and advice of these choices. Feel free to suggest others or share your opinions about the two I have already choosen. I am not Christian and have never celebrated Thanksgiving with a traditional dinner. My family usually cooks a regular meal and call it a day.
