  • Why do men and women sit separately in Old Regular Baptist services?

I was raised years ago in the Old Regular Baptist church. I remember that men always sat on one side and women on the other. Does anyone know why?

  • Has anyone see the older movie "The Missing with Tommy Lee Jones?

I just caught it on FX and there was a part where Tommy Lee Jones' character's daughter found her "husband" dead, apparently from Indian attack. The guy was enclosed in some kind of pouch (leather?) and hanging from a tree. The little girl said he screamed and screamed, so I assume he had been tortured. The pouch looked incredibly small-I don't get it. Is this some kind of Native American torture, a made up movie thing, or did FX cut out a major part I am missing?

  • Does anyone actually know of someone who met & married on E-Harmony?

Not just dated, but really met, hit it off & are happily married. The commercials make it seem as if everyone in the free world has been successful on this website.

  • Has anyone out there ever owned a dog called a Xolo? I have been researching this breed & want to know more!?

I have read that they are hairless & even used therapeutically for arthritis patients. I love dogs & have owned mixed breeds, chihuahuas, and a golden retriever.

  • Does anyone know this recipe?

When I was a little girl, I can remember eating something called an icebox cake. This version was made with a graham cracher crust, a can of fruit cocktail, and a container of Eagle's Brand condensed milk. I don't remember what other ingreedients were used. I remember that it was in layers and needed to be kept in the freezer. If anyone has this recipe, I would love to have it!

  • Pet Friendly Motels at Disney World?

I always vacation with my golden retriever, and am planning a trip to Disney World in Orlando this summer. The problem is, I cannot find any pet friendly motels. Disney only allows service animals or offers kennels (not interested). Does anyone know of a motel not actually on Disney grounds, but close enough to offer shuttle service, that is pet friendly? I didn't have this problem when I went to Universal!!

  • Embarrassing question-serious ans. only, please!?

When I have an orgasm, although it feels good at the time, I then have very bad cramping and pain in my abdomen. It is so bad that I have to take ibuprofen. I had a dream last week and woke up in terrible pain because I climaxed in my sleep. I cannot ask my gyn because (embarrassing part) I do not have a partner, and am only pleasuring myself. I could never admit that to him or anyone. Is this just a normal part of aging (I'm 45)? This has been going on for a couple of years.

  • Black Capped Conures?

We just purchased a black capped conure and would appreciate any info about how to train this bird. It is our first bird, and it is really nippy, biting until it brings blood. But it also loves head rubs, soft music, clowning for us...What are we doing wrong?

  • Do I list my employer as a reference?

I am searching for another job, but I do not want my present employer to know. Should I list her as a reference anyway so it does not look suspicious? I am a teacher, so they will know where I worked anyway if they wanted to look up the principal. I have been an excellent employee, so it's not that I am covering my tracks. It's just that my principal can be very vindictive and if they check references and then I don't get the job, she will make my life a living Hades when I return to work there. Would it be better to omit her and maybe look like I was hiding something OR risk a bad reference out of vengefulness and/or a horrible working environment upon return. I really want another job! HELP!

  • Interior Decorating question?

I have a small, basic 3 bedroom ranch home. It is not fancy, and the bathroom needs repairs. But, I just made the last payment, and it is mine! Now I 'd like to do some things like remodel the kitchen & bath, replace doors & windows, add a laundry rm, etc. the problem is I am lousy with stuff like that. I would like to hire an interior decorator to come in and give ideas & estimates. How do I even go about hiring one? Is there a big fee? Do I go thru them & they do the contracting? My small town doesn't even have one, & I'd have to go outside of the city. Are all of them basically the same, or should they have a certain lisence? Please help me out-and pease no sarcastic answers.

  • What did the ending to Harold and Maude mean?

I had always thought the ending meant that Harold rolled his car off the cliff, but was O.K., and went on to savor each moment of life. My son recently watched the movie and thought it meant that Harold committed suicide. Anybody seen this old classic & have any opinions?

  • I dream of a house that is alive?

This is a recurring dream I have when I am under stress. I am in a big house, sometimes a childhood home or the home of a childhood playmate. It has an unbelievable number of rooms. The rooms can think-they are alive and intelligent. They are always evil. I need to pretend in the dream to have no knowledge of the evil or the house will harm me in some way. It is always my plan to act like everything is O.K., make my way out of the labrynith of rooms and escape. Often, I keep the evil at bay by reciting Bible verses. There are secret pannels, hidden tunnels, etc. & upstairs is always most evil. Freaky things happen like dolls come to life or the walls "breathe." What does this mean?

  • What are some non-traditional cures for plantar faciitis?

I have been battling plantar faciitis in my right heel since April. I am using night splints, stretching exercises, foam/gel insoles in nike tennis shoes, the frozen liter of water & rolling heel over it. I have also had two injections of steroid in my heel, which have not helped, and two ultra sounds to my heel, which were excruiciating, left my heel bruised, and did not help. I am taking anti-inflamitories, but am on my feet all day as a teacher, and now that school has started back, I am in agony. ANY SUGGESTIONS?? I CAN'T STAND THIS PAIN!!

  • Kooky Family Sayings?

My mother used to say, to indicate something is not worth much, "That's not worth a fart in a hill of beans!" As far as I know, our family circle is the only ones who use this little saying. Do you have any unusual or unique family sayings?
