4 AnswersLaw & Ethics5 years agoIs U-Verse really worth it ?
entered an agreement with AT&T U-verse effective 3-15-15 for an agreed on price of 134 per month not including taxes which are roughly $10 per month so was expecting about 145 per month. Since March they have billed me each month about $177.00 each month I call and they make adjustments but i need to call each month this will be the fourth month now. April, May June July.
Are they just trying to wear us down ?
1 AnswerOther - Business & Finance6 years agohas anyone lost their promotional pricing as a result of pausing dish tv service?
I signed up because they were offering a reduced rate. I informed the installing contractor that in 2 months we would be closing the residence for the winter, its a summer home. He said not a problem put your service on pause for about $5 mo...this was late August
I the closed up in October, only had the service for about a month and a half at the reduced rate.
Called and they put it on pause explaining that my contract term would be extended beyond the 2 years by the amount of time I had pause...no mention of losing the special pricing and they confirmed that in an email.
Furthermore the signed contract has no mention of losing the pricing but only the contract time extension of time
So 2 written agreements neither with a mention of promotional pricing loss.
They have been billing me the normal package price as they claim once i pause i lose my promotion.
Why sign up and lose a deal that was to be good for a year if you're losing it a month and a half later ?
5 AnswersLaw & Ethics6 years agorental reimbursement or additional expense auto coverage?
rear ended on my almost brand new Honda Van which i use in my rehab homes business.
Looks like about 3 weeks to get it repaired.
The property damage coverage carrier will only allow rental of a typical private passenger type car. That does me little good for my business as I need hauling space. Dept of insurance says that is all they need to do.
can i use my own coverage of $30 per day in addition to what they are giving me to get a more suitable vehicle ?
5 AnswersInsurance & Registration6 years agoAffect of dish suspension on promo pricing?
dish TV on their site states After 12-month promotional period, then-current everyday monthly price applies. So i signed up 8-1-2014, then suspended service 11-1...ergo that is 3 months i am thinking still have 9 months promo pricing as my contract states" if you suspend during your term commitment we will extend that commitment by the number of days...
so I am fine with that but when i call to take the suspension off they say since you suspended you now have to pay full not promo pricing.
Where does it stipulate that bit of blarney, cant find it anywhere and the new bill shows full non promo price
1 AnswerOther - Business & Finance6 years agohow did a flying squirrel get in my basement?
I've lived in this house 22 years its 3 stories and has vinyl siding eaves etc. There is a fireplace chimney that was just repaired. The other day i found a flying squirrel in the basement. Did it come in through the fireplace or the furnace ? These things glide onto roof tops so I think it came in from the roof. I'm now worried we will get a bat in here and they can be a problem. Had another flying squirrel about 10 years ago. I've been able to catch these cute things with a blanket and then release outside

1 AnswerHyundai8 years agoUnheated home temperature difference inside vs outside?
They just put a new well in my remodel project and there is no heat in the house.
The forecast outdoor temp for Saturday morning is about 20 Fahrenheit and that below freezing temp is expected for about 6 hours as follows 20 22 24 28 32 34 etc. The temps have been and will be in the lower 40's during the day time followed by another 6 hours of below freezing but no lower than about 28 with the temps then staying above freezing for the foreseeable future.
What are the odds of the bladder tank or pipes to sustain damage from this.
I live about 300 miles away so trying to avoid the trip.
The question then is at those below freezing temps will the temps also be below freezing in the basement of this unheated house...concrete block foundation with tank and pipes about 10 feet below the first floor basement floor is concrete
1 AnswerWeather8 years agoI Removed basement bathroom?
Bought a "fixer upper" and the prior owners had let a basement bathroom go to seed. I've been to some pretty bad places but had never seen a bathroom that was so grungy. Rather than pour expense into a bath that we do not need I am thinking of removing the toilet, sink vanity, and shower, all of which had emptied to a basement ejector pit area. That pit now will be pretty much useless. The pump inside the pit does not work and based on the looks of the pit it had not worked for a while. Can I just fill that pit with sand and gravel then top it of with concrete ?
2 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs8 years agois this wording acceptable?
There is an blue light bulb in our set top box and its light stays on even after turning off the TV. With the room dark while we are going to sleep it is annoying, casting a blue color towards our closed eyes
I want to remove the light from the room.
Not the tiny little bulb just the light coming from the bulb. So can this light be removed ?
4 AnswersWords & Wordplay8 years agoIs this true for most states?
a premises owner who hires a contractor is, with certain exceptions, immune liability for injuries to an independent contractor's employee. So, if an employee of an independent contractor is injured on the job, his or her remedy is through the employer's Workers' Compensation insurance, and not in an action against the premises owner.
4 AnswersInsurance9 years agoprotection for possible injuries?
I own an out of state property intended to be used as a weekend residence. The property needs to be brought up to code with new electric, roof, etc.
I had contractors bid on the remodel and have decided on the low bidder for the work. he is operating as a sole proprietorship and does not carry workers compensation. He might have a part time worker to help him and in checking with the state rules that part timer would be considered an employee and the contractor would be subject to a $900 min premium.
I will have no control over these workers nor will i supply them with any tools or equipment, they're on their own as I'll be over 200 miles away in my primary residence.
So what are my potential problems if
1. The guy I hired gets injured while working on this job
2. The guy that works for him gets injured ?
I have a homeowners policy showing this location as an additional residence and I have a personal umbrella policy
