I was fired from a Steak 'N Shake chain restaurant in Danville, IL on September 11, 2011 over an insensitive 9/11 related facebook status which follows:

'Breakfast was bussssy as hell, wish I could crash a plane into Steak n shake.'.

The post was meant to be nothing more than a joke..cruel and wrong, yes, but nothing more. I wasn't being serious in any way. I did not know the repercussions would be. Immediate termination. It was posted on my 30min break when I had left the building and went home.

At about 10pm that night I got a call from my GM saying she didn't know what I posted but it needed to be removed and immediately if there was a hope of saving my job. I did just that, and posted an apology but minutes later I received the call that she was ordered by corporate to terminate me. Is there anything I could do about this? I actually really liked my job, loved the people I worked with, still do. And worked my *** off..came in early, stayed over late everytime they needed someone to. I couldn't have been suspended with a warning? I apologize to anyone and everyone who feels I personally disrespected them with my insensitive joke..I now know the line that shouldn't be crossed..

I'm wanting to do online courses to get my Associate's degree or higher in Web Graphic Design. I don't have money to submit an application to most online schools. I would need Financial Aid. I have my GED.

I talked to Kellie a counselor from DeVry, but she said that since I'm only eighteen I'm still considered a dependent and that my mother, my only parent. Would have to pay most of the bill, that I couldn't get full Financial Aid? But my mom doesn't have a job at the moment, and she only ever makes minimum wage. What the counselor from DeVry said just doesn't sound like it makes sense to me.

I thought that anyone could go to school for higher education, even if they couldn't afford it?

I personally think Catherine Hardwicke is one the most HORRID Directers that is out there right now.. seriously.. just watch Twilight. And now she is going to be directing Maximum Ride =/

Her 'cool ideas' such as the deleted scene in Twilight where Bella is dreaming of Edward (Who looks that erotic while dreaming in the first place?!!). And she wakes to see him and she pulls him onto the bed and they start kissing.. That was NEVER in the book. And if they would have kept the scene the whole movie would have been thrown off far worse.

Also.. I was thinking.. Stephanie Meyer did not mention who leaked 'Midnight Sun' but in the story she explains things that Edward does that you had no clue of Edward doing in Twilight.. did Stephanie send her a copy for extra help in directing and she leaked it?

Personally I'm glad that Catherine Hardwicke has been fired. And am really depressed that she will be directing Maximum Ride, as it's a great story I have loved for a few years now.

What are your opinions?
