How do you find the focus (h,k+p) and the directrix (Y=k-p) ??

I know you need to put it in this form

(X - h)^2 = 4p(Y - k)

But how would you do that?

If you could please show the work and also this problem X^2 - 3Y - 12 = 0 is tripping me up too

Sorry for the long story. I'm 15 by the way.

I'm 13 years old and I think I have a hernia... I don't know how I got it and it doesn't really hurt at all. It's right above my bellybutton. I tried the thing lying on my back and sitting my head up a little and pushing it back in and I think it worked. I really don't want to see the doctor and don't think I need to. I have only noticed this possible hernia a day or two ago.

So what happens if you don't go In for surgery to fix a hernia (above the bellybutton if location makes a difference)?

First off, I'm not pregnant. Right above my bellybutton, like UNDER the skin, I can feel a lump about the size of a quarter. I just noticed it like a few hours ago. My friend accidently elbowed me in he stomach about an hour ago. It doesn't feel like a bruise though. I mean, if you just looked at my stomach, it looks normal. I just feel the bump. And it hurts. Not a lot, just enough to feel uncomfortable. Does anyone have any idea what it could be?

I burnt something in the kitchen and the alarm went off and now the one that is in the kitchen is blinking green even though the smoke is gone and the alarms went off. someone said the alarm needs to be reset by pushing a button on it. my question is what happens if it doesn't get reset? will it start beeping again?

I burnt a piece of paper in my house, (don't ask, long story) and my dad already thinks i've been doing something bad like drugs, or I don't know, anything I shouldn't be doing. I accidently burned a piece of paper and it smells burnt in my room. HOW DO I GET RID OF THE SMELL?? I cannot open a window... if I spray perfume would that help, without making it smell to strong?? I've never really had many friends that are guys so when I make friends with this boy everyone keeps saying I love him! Which I don't! When I say he's not my boyfriend they just laugh.
