Is there anyone on here that lives in Juneau Alaska that is currently homeschooling? If so, I would like to get in touch with you.

My husbands daughter is now wearing a size 14/16, a childs large. Is this the average size for a 10 year old girl. We have not seen her in over a year, as we were transfered to Alaska. It sounds as though she may be a bit over weight to me, but I'm not sure.

For those of you who care and don't know yet, the 3rd season of Little People Big World starts April 9, 2007.

My ex husband owes me $4000 in arrears. He had a court date in Jan., which he did not show up for. They now have a warrant for his arrest. My problem is, what can I do to get my money?

They have all his current info, place of employment, house address, phone numbers etc. I have provided all of that to BOSE. I am so mad that they still have not picked him up yet. They are really dragging there feet on this.

My next problem is that I live in Alaska. My case worker said that that was not a problem (my ex signed papers for my move out here, and I have sole custody). Does anyone have any suggestions, laws, phone numbers or anything to help me get BOSE moving on this?

My 8 year old son has the HARDEST time telling the difference between these 2 letters (lower case b and lower case d). He knows ALL his other letters and has no problem with them. Does anyone have any suggestions on things I could tell him to help him know the difference between the 2?

I have tried everything that I know. I have tried hooked on phonics, tape recordings, reading to him, helping him with every word. I have literally tried everything that I know, does anyone have any suggestions? Please help!!! He gets real nasty, says he hates this, it's stupid, a waste of his time. Is there any free material that's easy to get ahold of, or does any one have a method that you use that works very well. Again I pled, please help me!!

My husband is in the Coast Guard. In August, we were transferred to Juneau AK. With the exception of the last 2 yrs. I have spent my whole life in Maryland. My 8 year old son has adjusted very well and of course so has my husband, but I can not adjust. I just want to go back home so badly. I find myself doing nothing but wondering what everyone back home is doing, what there weather is, etc., etc., etc. No matter how hard I try, I can not stop thinking of what they are doing, and hoping that they will all still be there when I return in 4 years. I will not drive in bad weather, so I pretty much stay home 24-7. The darkness and the snow are horrible. So far this year we have had around 70 inches of snow. Sun rises at 8:47 am and sets at 3:08 pm. This darkness drives me crazy. Plus, it is either raining or snowing. The sun only comes out maybe twice a month. Can anyone help me. Thank you in advance.

I keep reading questions and answers, and am just curious if anyone lives in Juneau AK?

HELP!!!!! I have natural curly hair to begin with. I pull it straight when blow drying, because I don't like the curl. Now I have a horrible problem with the frizzies ever since we moved to Juneau Alaska. It rains or snows here 99% of the time. I can spend 45 minutes working on my hair and literally the second I step foot out that door, my hair curls up and frizzes.

We live at the foot of a mountain in Juneau Alaska. Our driveway is one tenth of a mile long, and is a 45 degree angel. We have parking at the bottom for the car, but getting down has been horrible. First snow, then rain, then lots of ice. I would appreciate some ideas. Thanks.

I have found several web sites, and I am a little confussed. Does anyone know anything about the church umbrella option? I am not planning on homeschooling until the school year 2010. My son will then start middle school, which I don't want him in public schools at that point, and can't afford private. I just want to make sure I have and know all that I need to way ahead of time. At the present, we are in Juneau, AK and schools are way, way relaxed here. I guess I have rattled on enough, I would really apperciate any information anyone has to share. Thank you so much.
