I'm very defending towards Atheism and will take every chance to answer questions on religion and spirituality. I also like to listen to music a lot too. I'm an Atheist, and I won't say it but many people know me to be intelligent. I'm a heavy metal listener-to and will not allow mainstream music to "draw" me into the "normal" crap. But I'm usually nice to those who deserve it.

  • Can I pit-fire greenware?

I was wondering if there's a way for me to make my own pit-firing kiln to use to fire greenware, as I do not currently have money to pay for getting each piece I make fired (they charge $5 for a 2-inch ocarina)

I was wanting to make a firing pit from a 55-gallon drum but thought I should ask first before I jump to any actions. I have seen other questions where people have wanted to fire their greenware at home but were wary of the results.

I already know what greenware is, and I know what temperature my clay matures. I'm just asking would it be practical to pit-fire at home?

  • What would you do if?

If your girlfriend thought it would be a good idea to take one of YOUR dreadlocks and ripped 1/4 ofan inch off, telling you that cutting the split ends off will make your hair grow faster? That really forced me to grind my teeth. What would you do in that situation?

  • I don't know if you noticed, but there is a headline on Yahoo that's entitled,?

"U.S. Dominance in Space Race Slipping."

What's so important about remaining in the lead? Do We The People really need to be spending billions more of our weakening dollar for something that 10% of Americans will never ever see firsthand?

I find this to be very frustrating. Why not just let the other nations have some room? In fact, why are we even trying to colonize space? We already know that it will cost far too much money and take too much longer to ponder than anyone in this lifetime will see. This isn't a stepping stone in evolution, Brother Government. This is humankind's greatest falter. That we think that we MUST put humans in space is the worst idea yet. Why don't we just forget it? I, myself, am tired of helping pay money out of MY pocket for crap like this.

  • Electronics guru's anniversary?!?!?!?

Okay, I have a little brother who is an electronics and computer guru. He has a PS3, Wii, the latest laptop, a channel receiver with BOSE speakers and subs, a heavily internet-friendly expensive phone, and has access to downloading movies, music, games and eBay auctions. So, with that in mind, it's a little bit difficult to find something that will be within the confines of his own interests. That being said, I have some kind of favor to ask of all of Yahoo! Answers. His girlfriend, who I will call Moo, doesn't know what to get him. She asks me, and I don't know what to get.

    Help?

  • Do they make bicycles for taller people?

I'm 6'7'' tall (201 cm) and when I ride my lil brother's bike, my knees hit the handle bars, or my chest.

Anything for giants? That doesn't have more than 12 speeds?

  • Medication?

Why do all prescription medications come with some form of negative side effect? (I.E., do not take when nursing, or if you are pregnant, or talk to your doctor before, or if you have liver disease....)

Why can't everyone take the same thing? And if they can't make one thing for everyone, then why don't they just make medicines that don't have negative side effects? I don't understand any of this too well.

In fact, I saw a commercial where there was a lot of text in the form of animated pictures. It expressly featured all of the negative side effects, including death, yet they are trying to get people to take it because ''the benefits outweight the risks'' even though the risks have been outlined and submitted to the consumer.

Is there no dangerous medication out there?

  • In your honest opinion....?

Should the war on drugs be terminated? Billions of dollars have been lost on a war that can't be won; education is at best, underfunded; that money could have been used for something useful, like food... The DEA is already breaking the laws of the Constitution about unreasonable searches and seizures, but no one is doing anything about it. The FDA is putting out experimental deadly drugs left and right that SHOULD be illegal just because it (they) kill people. Why don't we have more people voting and petitioning for real-time wastes of money such as this?

  • I have heard of effects on the voice from wine being that it causes sedation of the vocal folds...?

Which, in turn, allows for a deepening of the vocal range. Is this true? Or just a myth?

  • Which is worse?

Spending billions of usable dollars to build prisons for nonviolent "criminals"

    -or-

Spending billions of usable dollars to fund for education?

The reason I ask is because this war on drugs is supporting exactly that. They're imprisoning responsible people and letting out child molesters and killers. How good is that for economy? I think the federal government shouldn't be going around busting people whenever the states' rights are supposed to come first... Free country? What do you think?

  • How do I troubleshoot an N64?

It resets itself after 15 seconds of being on. What can I do without having to pay for an expensive game system?

I have made sure the cartridge components were cleaned with a dry Q-tip, I have ensured placement of the cartridge, and te port in which the game goes has been cleaned, and it still does its resetting thing. Any tips?

  • I'd like to discuss a highly controversial issue...?

    Cannabis sativa.

    1) What's so dangerous about it that it has to be illegal? (Aside from mixing with alcohol and other drugs)

    2) Shouldn't we the PEOPLE be able to repeal laws without punishment (even after the Constitution was meant to limit powers of the government)?

    3) No recorded deaths from use have ever been reported, nor proven after study (but cigarettes and alcohol are fatal)... since it's safer, people should have the choice, yes?

Now, I don't indulge in this activity. But, I think I speak for over a million law-abiding citizens and responsible users when I say that becoming incarcerated for just POSSESSING a plant should be exactly as meaningless as being arrested for walking around with a pencil. I know all of the propoganda myths and lies, and how it started and everything... But, what are we going to DO about it?

How about a White House protest? They can't possibly arrest 80 million people at one time. That would make the US even more in debt than it is now.......

  • What is the name of this song from the XM radio I keep hearing in Sonic and other store radios?

The lyrics go like this, from the chorus:

I want to leave (live?) with you and make believe with you and live in harmony,harmony.....

That's all I know about the song. it sounds like something from "easy listening" stations... Any help would be appreciated!
