My 8 yr old daughter is afraid of the dark, she has a night light & her favorite stuffed animal but still claims to hear "noises" (ie: the wind outside & the tree that hits the house lightly). I sit at my desk for 1/2 an hour after they are put to bed with the hall light on so that she knows mom is there; but lately she's been getting up at 3am saying she can't sleep and thinks there is a monster or someone in her room. I'm thinking of getting her a sleep cd and moving her cd player closer to her bed. What has worked for you?

She's having problems listening and doing the work without the teachers CONSTANT attention, she's extremely smart but yet can't seem to function when it comes time to do work. Has anyone had this problem with their child? And what was done? What helped? I really need to know how to help her out. Thanks.

My 2nd grader is having trouble with spelling words, does anyone have ideas or tricks that worked with their kids?? She come from a special ed class and they apparently only showed them how to spell phonetically and she is struggling. I need ideas please.

Has anyone used this? What did you think and why? Would you reccommend it??? What were your thoughts .. I have a 7 yr old who thinks its great and wants me to buy it .. but frankly it doesn't look as if it will deliver .. please give your input :) Thanks!!

My husband just informed me that he is no longer willing to go through an adoptive placement .. said he doesn't care for the change it's had on his life and wants life the way it was ... these children were placed with us 2 weeks ago, we had 2 months worth of visits and now this ... I feel as if my heart is broken in so many ways ... what would you do?

I am currently an adoptive placement mom and it's only been 2 weeks .. but I got overly stressed from all the "new" people in our lives and stated that the 2 girls have stressed me out to a caseworker .. now there is an emergency meeting tomorrow ... do you think they will take the girls away? or put more people in my life? I really need advice ... (serious answers only please).

I am adopting 2 girls (age 6 & 7) and I was wondering since I never had children and/or probably won't have a child of my own, would it be really tacky to have an adoption shower?? Serious answers only please.

We are looking to buy a bigger car .. we are adopting 2 little girls who need booster seats and our growing teenager won't fit in the back with them. What kind of car do you drive that accommodates 5 or more and what are your opinions about it?? Serious answers only please.

How would you handle a threat made by a co-worker, she didn't say it to my face or say my name but everyone she said it to knew it was me she was talking about ... I was told "management" handled it but I'm still worried about repercussions and her insane ways ... they say no to worry but I can't help but be concerned for my safety & the safety of my family. What would you do????

I have a few questions about this disease ... if you neglect your health what can you expect to go wrong? and/or if you go into DKA a lot ... when does the body say enough?? (I am trying to learn about this disease to help my (step) son understand what his mother is doing to herself ... she seeks a lot of attention and I have personally witnessed her do it on purpose). For Diabetics what does this do to you? Do you have to be hosptiliazed every time? When does your body say enough and completely shut down?

I have some questions for someone suffering w/ diabetes ... (type 2 I beleive ... not born w/ it but got it as a child) ... how hard is it to maintain your blood sugar? if you eat junk food like m & m's, diet soda, fast food, other candies ... how hard is it to level it out?? And if you continue to go into DKA, how does this effect your body???

I think my son's "mother" is either using or has sold my step son's identity, documents were taken when he was 7 (birth certificate, social security card and shot records) ... can i run his credit report to see if there is anything on it?
