Do you know about FEMA's policy for Preferred Risk Policy (PRP) eligibility?
I recently bought a town house. The house is not in a flood zone and normally I can be eligible for PRP. My insurance company says I can't get PRP because there have been two flood claims in the complex in less than 10 years period. The complex has one street number and insurance company says by FEMA guideline they consider that their reference. They are correct for condominium. But in my case I own the land. So basically other people's flood is affecting my policy.
Can they do that?
I don't know what other information can help you answer my question but if you know about it please ask I'll give you more info.
Thanks
