  • The Skin Colour of Malaysians?

Why are some people in this country so obsessed about being fair?

So much so that there's a skin whitening product called 'Fair & Lovely', which has advertisements showing women only getting the attention of men when their skin becomes fair.

    What a load of BS.

Even in Yahoo answers, a lot of dark skinned Malaysians like to make their avatars a lighter colour than their skin actually is.

If you're dark, you're dark. There is no reason to be ashamed. So why are so many people still ashamed/in denial???

  • Do you judge beggars/homeless people?

Very often, when a homeless person asks for spare change/food or whatever, a lot of people will think,

"Why don't you go get a job, and work for your money just like I do?"

Well, uhh, I doubt their resumes are exceptionally impressive, and there's a good chance they can't even read, write or count.

So my question is, what kind of job can a homeless person apply for? How do they improve their lives? Are we right to judge them?

  • Answering q's just for points?

Why do some people say stuff like "I don't know, but thanks for the 2 points", etc.?

As far as I know, the number of questions you can answer in a day is capped depending on your level.

Besides, there's a practically limitless amount of questions, so why choose one that you can't contribute to?

  • Why are anime fans like this?

A vast majority of people who like anime are also into computer games/hardware, are either too chubby or too skinny, have old fashioned side-parted hair, and are socially inept.

I'm wondering, what is the connection between their hobby and their general characteristics?

Not trying to insult anyone, but you have to admit that this reigns true for the most part.

So why is it so? The interests these people have don't seem to directly connect with the personality traits they inherit. I.E. you don't have to be socially inept to enjoy anime, but most of them are.

Is it social pressure? Some sort of genetic programming? Or what?

*Please note that this is a serious question, I'm not flaming anyone, but this has been my honest observation all my life.

  • Answer me this, Believers!?

You say it's people that cause wars, not god (yahweh, allah, jesus, satan or whoever your god is). Fair enough.

If god is as perfect as you claim, didn't he anticipate that people would use his name to commit atrocities? (the inquisition, 9/11, etc.)

What kind of a loving god would purposely allow such ambiguity on his poor, poor subjects?

I'm sure he knew it would result in me and millions of people like myself who are left confused, wishing we could believe in something but can't find anything worth believing in?

The only conclusion I can logically come to is that god is cruel, and far from perfect.

  • Isn't Yahoo Answers Just The Most Depressing Thing?

You see a vacant question and try to submit what you think is a brilliant answer, only to discover 57 other answers that are exactly the same as yours before you can even finish typing. Does it make you sad that you're just another sheep in the herd without an original idea, or happy that so many like-minded people are connected?
