Hey!
Filming on location in real settings for a more "Live" format ...yay or nay?
Anybody who has tuned into Guiding Light has noticed it films in a entirely different format than all the other soaps, on location in real settings. At first I did not like it because of the excessive camera shaking and close ups...but since they have stopped doing those annoying things (on a regular basis), I have gotten use to it and I like it a bit. (I been watching GL since it's cancellation was announced...it's a good show)
My two favorite soaps B&B and ATWT also film on location in real settings sometimes. I prefer a mix of the traditional studio filming and the on location filming. ATWT does a really good job of the two and they don't shake the camera when they film on location. Your thoughts????
1 AnswerSoap Operas1 decade agoAs the World Turns - Carly's drinking problem...?
I think this is a really good storyline and Maura West has some serious acting skills. More strong storylines like this are what ATWT needs more of to prevent being canceled like Guiding Light. How do you fellow ATWT viewers feel about this storyline?
9 AnswersSoap Operas1 decade agoAs the World Turns - What if you found out that the person your falling in love with is a blood relative?
Today on ATWT Alison and Hunter learned they were actually brother and sister. Only after they had "made out" with each other ( just kissing) and started to fall in love with each other . Of course, both of them were freaked out but Hunter took the news the worse because he had stronger feelings for Alison than she did of him.
I honestly would act the same way he did which is that I could not stand the sight of my "new" sister either.
6 AnswersSoap Operas1 decade agoThe Bold and the Beautiful, which do you prefer to see, Ridge and Taylor or Ridge and Brooke?
I'm so happy Ridge is back with Taylor. I honestly think that the love triangle with Brooke, Taylor, and Ridge has finally ended. I enjoy watching Taylor with him more than with Brooke. Seeing the joy in Taylor, Steffy, and Thomas face today was so beautiful.
19 AnswersSoap Operas1 decade agoWhy all the Obama name calling?
Why do the conservatives insist on calling President Obama so many different names rather than just President.
First, he was a celebrity, then an elitist, a socialist, a communist. Now he's being called a facist and a dictator. It seems like every month he's a new name. I have a feeling that many of the people who use those terms do not even know what they mean or probably can't even spell them. What are your thoughts?
6 AnswersCurrent Events1 decade agoHow much are the repair cost for Hybrid vehicles in the long run (regardless of the brand)?
I am in the market for a new car and I was considering buying a hybrid. Mainly because of all the benefits and the model i am interested in buying is eligible for a $3400 tax credit. However, I am the type of person to buy a new car and drive it for years (of course keeping up on maintenance).
I still wonder how much are the repair cost (minor and major) for the long run after the glitz and glamor and the warranty expires and the car has 150,000+ miles on it. I can imagine it may be expensive to repair or replace some of the technical hybrid components in these vehicles. I already know that many independent shops do not service hybrid vehicles because of all the advance equipment.
The model I am considering is the 2010 Mercury Milan hybrid
1 AnswerOther - Cars & Transportation1 decade agoHow long after brakes start squealing do you have to get them replaced?
Here's my dilemma, my brakes just started squealing last week on Tuesday (only the front driver side brake is squealing). I got several quotes from shops and all range from $700-$800 bucks (I need a full brake job). Money I don't have because I have not been able to find employment up until yesterday (June 7). I start working on the 12th, and this job requires driving and is out a distance from my home (3 miles). I have been taking it easy by driving only when I have to and on surface streets and not speeding. What I want to know is with light driving will my brake hold out until I get that almighty first pay check?
Also, my owners manual says the noise is a safety feature to let me know to replace the pads soon, but what's that time frame?
16 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs1 decade agoIf Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune are all "Gas Giants", why are they perfect spheres and have gravity
I have been told these planets have no solid ground, so I'm wondering why when I look at photos of them they are perfect spheres that have gravity that can control moons.
5 AnswersOther - Science1 decade agoMy car keeps vibrating roughly when I'm driving, mainly on wet rainy days, whats wrong?
It scares the heck out of me when I'm driving. It only happens when it rains and the roads are wet and I have been in many different cars where this has never happen. I just bought a whole new set of tires 3 months ago. It even vibrates when I'm waiting at a stoplight and when I try to pull off it really vibrates hard and I really have to hold the steering wheel hard to keep control.
Whats is wrong with my car? Thanks in advance.
7 AnswersOther - Cars & Transportation1 decade agoDoes anyone have the Nextar W3 GPS system?
I purchased a Q3 GPS system on ebay and the seller called and told me there were issues with my GPS so they said they would send me a replacement model known as the W3. Although it is a previous model they told me it was just like the Q3 except it does not come with the remote control and the designs are a little different. But when it comes to the software everything is the same. Plus it is a MP3 player if I put a SD memory card in it.
Does anyone have the Nextar W3 or Q3 GPS systems? Are they good?
1 AnswerOther - Electronics1 decade agoWhat other GM car did the mid 80's/early 90's Pontiac Bonneville share platforms with?
I was wondering what other early 90's or mid 80's GM car do my 90' Bonneville share platforms with (I know it has to share one, all automakers share parts among their models lol).
For those of you that may not understand what I'm asking, here's an example: The Ford Taurus and Mercury Sable (mechanically alike and many shared parts but still two different cars).
I didn't know so I thought I would ask the world. Thanks in advance for your help.
5 AnswersOther - Cars & Transportation1 decade agoIs it a bad thing to turn my car wheels when I park?
Whenever I park my car, I like to turn the wheels because for one, I think it looks cool (especially when my car is clean) and also because I heard it makes it harder for crooks to steal the wheels or the car itself. But I wonder could this damage my car over time?
I drive a 1990 Pontiac Bonneville in good shape. Thanks!
