  • Is My Video Card Going Bad?

Problem: When there is a stationary pic on my screen it is loaded with multi colored square dots. Sometime they flicker sometimes they don't. At times there are a lot of dots, but when I change screens they are sometimes reduced. There seems to be a pattern, but it changes. When I have a moving pic, like a movie, there are no dots within the movie, but they are there on the back screen edge if I don't go full screen. (PS, it's not my monitor.) This is the clincher, every so often the video card will reset itself and the screen goes black for a few seconds and when it comes back on there are no dots for awhile (but they come back).

Before I spend $300 on a new card I need to know it is the problem. I have a ATI Radeon HD 5900 Series video board, but it is 5 years old. I have kept the drivers up to date and the inside of my computer is clean (no dust bunnies on the fans or hardware).

If it is the card, what one do you recommend? I like gaming and playing downloaded HD videos/movies. Thanks in advance for your help.

  • Computer Monitor May Be Going Out?

My monitor I have had for 5 years may be going out. It has recently developed small. flashing, red squares all over the screen. Sometimes there are a lot of them, other times there are only a few dozen. I have downloaded updated drivers for the monitor and my video card and it didn't help. Is it my monitor or video card?

  • Anyone have a good Fantasy book agent I can talk to?

I have written a fantasy novel and I need a good agent. I live in the Houston, Texas area, but with e-mail that should not be a real problem. What I understand is most agents won't really look at you unless you know someone. I am looking for that someone to help me crack open the door. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

  • Price to overhaul/rebuild a MOPAR 440?

I have a 1973, 440-4bbl MOPAR in my 1969 Dodge Charger. How much for a quality shop to remove/install and then overhaul/rebuild the engine back to pristine condition? How much extra to balance, port, and blueprint it? Same questions for the 727 3 speed automatic that came with it.

  • 1969 Charger Will Not Start?

I have a 69 Charger R/T and it will not start. Drove it the night before and everything worked great. Got in it the next day and it was dead (no click click, hum, nada). There is a new battery and alternator in it. Some electrical systems do still work. I have traced the wiring and all seems okay . What could be the problem?
