My mother got 2 rats a year and a half ago. They had an accidental litter before she was able to tell they were male and female. My daughter and I took 2 of the babies and the rest went to a good home with someone we know. About 3 months ago, my mother's 2 developed pneumonia and I brought them to my house to care for them, as my mother was having trouble getting them to take their medicine. Sadly, the male passed away in February. Now, I want to put the female in with her 2 daughters that I have. But, I can't seem to clear up the pneumonia!! She has had a course of Baytril, a course of Clavamox and another course of Baytril (which she just finished today). She is eating more and getting happier to see me..probably due to loneliness and boredom being by herself. The only symptom she still has is she's breathing fast and heavy. We have a 4th vet visit on Friday for her, but does anyone have any ideas that I could try or suggest to the vet?? Any other medications??

I have the Casio Exilim. I love my camera, but the battery is terrible!! I can fully charge it and after taking 6 or 7 pictures it will tell me the battery is low and shut off. After a few minutes, I can turn it back on, but it will shut off again after 2 or 3 pics. Is this normal for a digital camera or do I need a better battery?? I use the NP60 battery..3.7 v. This isn't the one that came with the camera..that one was even worse so I bought this one!!!

My daughter and I have 2 pet rats, my mother also has 2 pet rats. My mother's rats have respiratory infections so I am fostering them until they finish their medication. I noticed today that the tip of the male's tail was white. When I pinched it, there was no reaction and when I lifted it up, the tip just hung limply. I assume this is nerve damage as my mother said he has never been injured in any way. The vet told me it can be amputated, but my mother doesn't want to spend all that money if it isn't necessary. Does anyone know if rat's need the last inch or so of their tails?? I know they use their tail for many different purposes, but this is only about an inch of the end.

My daughter and I have had many reptiles over the years and always used a cricket keeper for the crickets. I recently started noticing maggots in the tubes. I bought a new one thinking, maybe the other one was too old. Now, there are maggots in the new one too. Has anyone else had this problem?? I try washing them out of the tubes, but it's impossible to get them all out because the tubes are so thin. Any ideas on what could be causing them and how to prevent it from happening again and again??

I used to love a drink that I think was made by Bacardi called Purple People Eater. I think it was a Bacardi Breezer. They tasted just like grape soda. I haven't seen them in years..does anyone know if they still make them and where to get them??

I feel really strange asking..I'm usually the one answering questions, but I have a problem I've never encountered before. My daughter and I recently rescued a three toed box turtle who started sleeping a lot when we got him. It was still pretty chilly, so I thought it was hibernation. Now, our other turtle has woken up and acting normally, but this new guy won't do anything but sleep. He fell asleep in his water bowl last night (I finally took him out after 6 hours) and just now I gave him food and he is falling asleep with his chin on the edge of his food dish while our other one one chowing down (they are housed separately). Should I be concerned or just wait it out?? Does it sometimes take some turtles longer to wake up than others??

My 14 year old daughter has had a cell phone for about a year now with Virgin Mobile. Now her text messages have gone from 5 cents each to 15 cents!! Our deal has always been that she can have the cell phone as long as she pays for the minute cards. Since she's only 14, she doesn't always have the money to pay for it every month. Now that it's gone up so much, she wants a new plan. Does anyone know of any other companies that do minute cards instead of monthly plans??

My 13 year old daughter got her ears pierced for her birthday in January. She has continued to wear earrings and they have started to close a few times, but she was able to push the earring through. She took the earrings out about a week ago and when she went to put them back in, they had completely closed!! She can't push the earring through at all. Should this have happened after 9 months or was something wrong?? I hate the thought of going through this all over again :(

I have a nice set of T-Fal pots and pans that my mother gave me as a Christmas gift. Every time I hand wash them (I don't have a dishwasher), they look clean, but feel sticky. Is this normal?? What can I do to prevent it??

What about strange things happening with battery operated devices?? I have a battery operated clock that has stopped and restarted 3 times in the last week!! It's really starting to freak me out...I think it's haunted!!!!!
