  • why do some Christians think living together without having sex is wrong?

Especially, when there is mutual understanding that there will be no sex before marriage.

Also, don't tell me it's because other people will think you're having sex, because people who aren't living together are just as likely to be having sex, and are often assumed to be having sex unless otherwise stated. I want a legitimate explanation for why such Christians think this is a violation of God's law, because in my opinion it's the equivalent of how people judged Jesus as a drunkard, simply because he drank wine, and a sinner because he was a friend of tax collectors and prostitutes. Seems archaic to me.

  • Why do some Christians think you need to know when you were saved?

I'm a Christian. I was raised a Christian. There has never been a time in my life I didn't have a relationship with the Lord. I'm not alone, others have had the same relationship with God, a former pastor of mine said the same thing. It offends me that some believers insist that I had a date of salvation, and that a child cannot accept or reject God in a mature manner.

I don't believe in the Believer's Baptism (i.e. Baptist view), so is this a thing among believers like Baptists? Just curious what others think.

  • Why is telling people you're gay publicly advocated today?

Recently, a principal decided to announce to the school that he was gay at a Pride thing.

Essentially, a gay man most of the time is saying to the world, "I have engaged in intercourse with another man," or if they're younger, "I lust for other men." Heterosexual men do not publicly disclose to the world that they are no longer virgins, or that they lust for other people.

I just can't understand why gay people feel a need to disclose to the world what they do behind closed doors. Moreover, why gay people need to flamboyantly dress, act, and speak differently than everyone else.

Why is it necessary for gay people to be seen as gay people and not just people?

--I'm asking this in the Religion section, because I know homosexuality is a common topic there, and I have no idea how many people pay attention to the LGBT section.

  • Why do so many Americans believe in the rapture (Dispensationalism) if it was started about 1830?

In my experience, it's mostly Baptists who believe it. Is it mostly a Baptist thing? Do most Baptists believe in the rapture?
