I have had a UTI pretty much non-stop since July 20th or so. I have taken 7 day courses of various antibiotics, and they clear up, I test clean, and they come back a week or so later. I'm currently on my 4 and a half course since then. Any suggestions to avoid it from coming back besides urinating after sex, drinking water and cranberry juice and avoiding baths? I really want my life back!!

I am flying from Canada to Michigan to Salt Lake City to LA. Will I have to clear customs at each check point? I'm slightly nervous because on my last connection I only have a 30 minute layover. Any ideas?

I went camping last night, and at the camp site there were a ton of blackflies/mosquitos/etc. I thought my dog had gotten a massive amount of bites on her belly, but with closer inspection today it is a big blotchy red rash. It isn't raised or anything. I'm not especially concerned because it isn't itchy, but I also don't have any time to take my dog to the vet until Wednesday, unless I deem it an emergency and take a day off work. Any suggestions?

I am a newbie to bbqing and was wondering if anyone could answer this for me. When a recipe calls for low, medium, or high temperature for bbqing, what is that in fahrenheit? I have been using the dial on my grill and setting "high" or "low" based on that, but I would prefer to know what temperature I should be aiming for.

Last night my dog found a tall glass of half-finished rum and pepsi, and knocked it off the table. I found it this morning and broken glass shards were stuck to the floor. When I went to clean it up I got a large piece of glass in my left index finger, right at the top where my fingerprint is. It is fairly deep and keeps splitting open. Any suggestions to keep it closed and help it heal? I already dosed it with some peroxide, and it has been about 8 hours, and is now swollen.

I have dog that is just over a year old, and am moving in a few days. It is just down the street from where I am now, so there is no real legal changes (with licences and the likes). My question is what can I do to help my dog adjust to living in the new house, and how can I make moving less traumatic on her?

My period has been pretty regular for the last 8 years or so. It usually lasts Wed-Sat or Thurs-Sun. This time it started Thurs morning, and disappeared Thurs night. It's been 12 hours since it stopped.

Any ideas....

I bought a white jacket and the shell is made out of 100% polyester. There were a few dirt stains on the ends of the jacket and sleeves, so I threw it through the wash as directed (machine wash gentle in cold water, air dry, do not bleach, no not use softeners), and it still came out just as filthy as when I put it in! I was then walking my dog yesterday and got a nice dirt stain on the sleeve. Any suggestions of how to remove this dirt without damaging my jacket further?

Whenever I straighten my hair, without product and when it is dry after showering, the roots get EXTREMELY greasy, to the point where it looks like the top of my hair is wet and the bottom is dry. Any suggestions besides sprinkling some baby powder on the roots?

I have an 11 month old dog who has always had separation anxiety. Ever since I got her (at about 2 months), she has been destructive when I leave, has got into things, and sometimes whined when I was gone. She has always had excessive greetings, and nothing can stop them. When she wants attention, she will whine, whimper, or nudge you until you stop what you are doing and give in.

In the last few months, however, it has become more than excessive in the destruction department. She has chewed multiple holes in multiple doors, chewed up the carpeting in my bedroom on several occassions to the point that it now needs to be replaced, she has chewed and scratched massive and multiple holes in walls, has chewed all the woodwork in my house, has ate the arms off my sofa, and destroyed the laminate tile flooring one square at a time. This doesn't even begin to mention anything she can get her hands on-- be it books, chairs, shoes, underwear, etc.

I have tried ignoring her when I leave and come back for long periods of time, I have tried excessive exercise (up to 2.5-3 hours a day), and have tried ensuring that she has a toy each time she leaves, all for no less than a month at at time, but nothing helps.

Does anyone have any suggestions to help me? I love this dog, but really am at the end of my rope.

My dog was spayed exactly a month ago to the day, and I finally touched the scar area yesterday and noticed that there are about 3 large bumps (one as big as a ping pong ball) and maybe 4 smaller bumps (about the size of the end of a pen). None of them are visible to the naked eye, touching them doesn't bother her at all, and they don't cause any deviation to the skin around her spay scar (which is almost invisible now).

Any idea if they warrent a trip to the vet?

I have had my dog housetrained for about 2 months now. She is 5 months old and hasn't had an accident in the house in close to three weeks.

I just moved into a new place, and twice since we have moved here, I have crawled into bed to discover that she has peed in one area or another. I would love to just close the bedroom door, but I don't have one (it is like a bachelor apartment) and have no way of barracading the bed from the dog. I understand that dogs like to pee on padded areas, but any way to stop this?

Today, for example, I came home from a 2 hour walk where she had peed several times, let her drink, took her out again, and then left her alone for 3 hours. When I came back she had peed on my bed.

Any suggestions on how to stop this? Frankly, it disgusts and annoys me to have to clean up and sleep in a bed that has been peed on.

I have a 5 month old puppy who has never had an issue with her breath and in the last three days it has gone from normal doggy breath to an unbelievable stench. I know I can cover it up with doggy mints and the likes, but should I be concerned over this? Could it be the sign of a bigger health issue? It smells like a mix between her food (holistic fish formula) and feces, and she isn't being careful where she breathes... especially while I am sleeping :(

My female dog is 4 months old. Near her bottom, on her stomach where there is no hair, she has this on-going rash. She doesn't itch it, and it isn't painful to the touch for her, but it has been there, off and on, for almost 4 weeks. It seems to be a pimple like sore, which eventually scabs over. She has about 7 or 8 of these, and a few small "flecks" where there are scabs.

I am planning on calling the vet tomorrow, because after it had been getting better all week, today it is back in full force. Any idea what it may be? Or if I should take her to the vet urgently? Can she wait until I have a few days to take her, or should I just go tomorrow for an emergency appointment?

I have a 4 month old large breed dog. I originally puppy pad trained her because of the rough area I was living in (a single girl at night can NOT go outside on her own), and because I was working a job where I was gone 12 hours a day twice a week. Now that I am moving in two weeks and have a better part time job, I am trying to train her to go outside by going cold turkey. I completely eliminated the puppy pads and am taking her outside every two hours, and 30 minutes after she eats and drinks. When she does go outside I praise her and give her a big treat. Any other suggestions or tips to help me out?

I got my period on the 5th of January, but had unprotected sex several times while I was ovulating.

I have never spotted in my life, but, since I ended my period on Saturday, I started spotting last night and have had severe cramps, tender breasts, etc.

Any chance I may be pregnant? I would really like to know, but home pregnancy tests won't be accurate for a bit. As well, if I am not pregnant, any idea why I am having these symptoms?

I have been on the birth control pill for seven years and never experienced anything like this. However, in the last few months I have missed 2 pills, and therefore I know it is no longer a reliable method of birth control...

I have a bit of a dilemma because I am trying to use a treat to train my dog, but she seems to be allergic or sensitive to soft dog treats. For the most part, I like to use carrot pieces, etc, etc, etc for training, but it takes her just forever to eat one carrot chunk!

Any suggestions on what kind of soft human foods to use for training? I want them to be low in fat and sugar, because I am planning on using several of them and quickly.

PS... a friend suggested bread to me, but she doesn't seem to be a huge fan :P

My pup (13 weeks) has been gagging off and on for the last few days. She seems to do it when she is excited and playing. I am going to the vet tomorrow for shots, but was just curious if this is normal or what? She doesn't gag badly, but simply makes a gagging noise, coughs, and goes about her business like nothing happened...

I am horrible at organizing school notes for my university. If I use loose paper, it tends to pile up rather than going into proper binders. Individual note books means I bring the wrong ones to class and those multiple subject notebooks run out quickly.

Any suggestions on how to organize myself this semester? I don't have a laptop and I need something foolproof!

A woman is giving away a dog from the litter that mine came from. The way she described this 11 WEEK old pup, is that it attacks and bites the face of her young child.

Just a question, but don't all pups play and mouth all peoples faces at that age? I can understand it is unnerving, but should you not keep vigilent supervision of the dog when your child is there?

I just want peoples opinion on this. The dog has been around a 2 year old and an eight year old since its birth, before going to this "forever" home. The breeder never saw aggression around her children. Is it possible for an 11 week old pup to display aggression (unprovoked attacks, biting the face aggressively) to this extent all of a sudden?
