  • Need help. My daughter reverted potty training?

My 3 year old had been potty trained for about 8 months when she stopped using the toilet for her BMs. She asks to use a pull up for her BMs, so it isn't a question of controlling it.

It has been 3 months since she reverted, so I have tried EVERY type of incentive. I am embarrassed to say what I have offered her in exchange for going on the toilet.

At this point, I think I don't really understand why she is doing this. She is not motivated by anything. My husband offered to take her to Chuck E Cheese this weekend if she went and, of course, when asked she said that she would rather go in her pants than to go to Chuck E Cheese.

If anyone can explain what might be going on developmentally, I would appreciate it. I am just so frustrated.

  • 3 Year Old Daughter has reverted Potty Training?

My three year old daughter got sick and stopped wanting to go poop on the potty. After she got over her stomach bug, she refused to go on the potty, saying it hurt. After 2 weeks of dealing with her going in her pants, she stopped going and became constipated. After 5 days, we were just happy she was going again, even if it was in her pants.

Now, she goes pee on the potty every time, no accidents. She doesn't have any poop accidents, but puts on a pull up to go.

I have tried to go back to our original potty training rewards etc, but she doesn't want them. I am at the point where I think I will take TV away and use it as a reward, but that didn't even work tonight.

In retrospect, I handled this poorly, but I thought it was a passing situation and didn't know it was going to go this direction.

Has anyone had any experience with this and how did you get them going on the potty again?

  • Does anyone have a good source of glycemic index and load values?

I am looking for a complete list of glycemic index and load values. I keep finding the same list online which does not include some of the common foods, like eggs and celery (maybe they aren't included because they are low).

    Can anyone recommend a website?

  • Ease of conception after a miscarriage.?

I am going for a D&C tomorrow because when I went for my 8 week visit, no heart beat :(

I have two friends who conceived very quickly after they were able to try again after their miscarriages.

If you have had a miscarriage, were you able to conceive afterwards? Any other words of wisdom for me?

Please answer this only if you have had a miscarriage.

  • Loss of Pregnancy symptoms at 7 weeks?

I never had any morning sickness, just low grade nausea and very tired (same as my first pregnancy). I am much busier this time around so maybe it doesn't seem as bad because I am so busy. My breasts fit in my bra again and the nausea is gone.

Just wondering if anyone who had a child experienced this during their pregnancy.

Also, anyone who has had a miscarriage, did you suddenly lose your pregnancy symptoms?

BTW, this sucks because I can't discuss this with anyone except my husband because I didn't want to announce it until our first ultrasound.

  • How do you deal with abuse from your clients?

As a real estate agent, I find myself the target of abuse from clients when the clients themselves are under stress. When they have to sell under bad circumstances: divorce foreclosure etc.

My client is in foreclosure, but also just a jerk in general on top of that. He has been very abusive and taken advantage of my time even though I have found him a buyer myself, cut my commission dramatically, picked up/dropped off contracts and done a variety of other favors for him.

I try not to let him know that he is getting to me, but it is bothering me. I am pretty sure he verbally abuses his wife and since I am a woman I think he extends the same behavior towards me. If I were a man, he wouldn't be talking to me like this and would be thanking me for my work.

I can remove myself from abusive situations in my own life, but am unable to do that in this situation. The transaction should be complete by mid-July. How do I handle his verbal attacks and this situation?

  • How do I kill or remove a large number of walnut tree saplings?

My neighbor has a black walnut tree that every fall drops hundreds of walnuts on my property. I have 14 walnut tree saplings that are growing too close to my house and need to be removed. I am afraid that they will eventually hurt my foundation. They are very deep rooting trees and cutting them back and Round Up have not worked. I would like to avoid calling a tree person as that will be expensive and I think that this is going to be a constant battle I fight. Ideas are very welcome.

  • Should I pay my plumber?

The very condensed version of the story is that the plumber came to fix my boiler, two weeks later it broke again, they spent 1.5 days at my house to try to solve the problem only to leave us two times with carbon monoxide emissions around 110 PPM (1-2 PPM is normal) After they left us with the boiler still broken, our local power company came over and within 5 minutes he had identified and fixed the problem. The plumber billed us $1000.

For whatever reason, I feel really guilty about this because he spent so much time at our house, but I can't justify paying him because he essentially caused the problem, did not fix the problem and left us with a furnace emitting very high levels of carbon monoxide. On top of it all, the guy from the power company came in and fixed the problem by replacing a missing piece of the pilot assembly within 5 mins.

Thoughts on the case? Why do I feel guilty?

PS He is very mad and probably going to sue us.

  • Pinched nerve or Splinter?

I feel like I have a splinter in my thumb, but I cannot find anything and it seems to come and go. Could a pinched nerve cause my finger to feel like it has a splinter in it?

  • Can I feed my 2 year old rare beef?

Does anyone know if it is safe to feed a toddler rare (just pink, not bloody) beef? I don't plan to feed it to her on purpose, but the other night she wanted a bite and it got me wondering whether or not she could eat it.

  • How do I get my dog to stop humping other male dogs at the park?

Our dog is 3 and 1/2 and will not stop humping dogs at the park. I think he does it as a dominance thing to encourage other dogs to play with him, but its very annoying and the other owners are often not amused.

    Suggestions, ideas?

    Thanks.

  • How do I deal with my friend who doesn't acknowledge my daughter?

So, a good friend of mine has a daughter exactly 9 months younger than me. She lives in another state and so we primarily communicate via email at least a few times a week.

After he daughter was born, I sent her some very nice gifts, things I found really helpful and she made it a point to tell me that didn't use them.

I send pictures to her and never receive a "hey your daughter looks cute, what a great smile" or anything like that. I thought I was being paranoid, so I stopped mentioning my daughter and sending pictures of her. I also made it a point to talk about her daughter. Thinking that eventually she would say something... Not once in the past 2 months has she mentioned or asked about my daughter.

I would also like to add that I make it a point not to "brag" about my daughter to anyone else with kids because I hate it when people do that.

Is it possible she is so wrapped up in her own child, she doesn't even think about mine? What should I do?

  • Having more than 1 child?

We are planning on having another child this year. Is there anyone out there who went for child number 2 that wishes they would have stopped at one? You can't ask these questions to people in real life because no one would say no, but since you have some anonimity on here, I thought I might get some more answers.

  • My husband thinks that we should tell our 2 year old daughter that Santa Claus doesn't exist next year?

He says that we shouldn't lie to her. I personally think that she will be smart enough to figure it out for herself in a few years and don't see the harm. Thoughts?

  • Why do people spread so much hate towards people who have different beliefs?

One of the things I find so annoying about religion is the tendency to criticize, belittle and trash talk people with other beliefs.

Is it a Christian value to devalue people who believe in another god or perhaps not one at all?
