How do I keep my Droid unlocked?
Nothing technical. I don't want to use my phone anywhere else. It is just incredibly annoying that every time my phone sleeps I have to unlock it to use it by sliding that tab. There is no code entered, I slide it, it's unlocked. Especially a PITA when I'm getting a call and I have to slide it and then oops, didn't slide it far enough, etc. Is there any way to disable that so it is always unlocked?
1 AnswerCell Phones & Plans1 decade agoWhere did my hot water go?
We had the plumber in because of sand in the system (we have a well) and the water wasn't getting hot. After his assistant did his "magic" our water gets no warmer then lukewarm (even if the forced hot water heat is off) and the dishwasher stopped filling. He had left and then unexpectedly come back saying the supply house gave him the wrong part. Hub checked the connection under the sink and it was on. We've used this plumber for a long time but he is really hard to get a hold of these days. Any thoughts on what might need to be adjusted or checked?
2 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs1 decade agoDoes the FAFSA apply to scholarships too?
My son says we have to fill out a FAFSA for scholarships. We aren't looking for financial aid per se, just hoping to ease the expense a bit. I thought if you applied for a scholarship it was to whoever was giving it and they would use their criteria to give them out. Anything I read concerning the FAFSA is about Federal Financial Aid. Are they really one and the same?
3 AnswersFinancial Aid1 decade agoWindows 7 - is there any way to disable the bottom right corner?
In Windows 7 when your mouse goes to the bottom right hand corner of the screen the desktop disappears. All you have to do is bring the mouse back to anywhere on the screen but every time I type I manage to push the mouse to that exact spot. Is there any way to disable that feature? Thanks

2 AnswersMusic & Music Players1 decade agoAny suggestions for a wireless router?
We have a wireless router already but I don't think it's adequate for what we need it for now. We have 4 "computers" hooked into it. The downstairs wires are strictly computers but the connections upstairs bounce between computers and video game systems. I don't know if the routers have anything to do with bandwidth but my one son says he doesn't have enough to work one of his electronics. We've had the router we have now for probably 2 - 3 years. Thanks for any suggestions!
2 AnswersComputer Networking1 decade agoWhat are good one night stayovers from Cape Cod Mass to NJ ?
We head to NJ to visit relatives frequently and sometimes we detour and spend a night at Yankee Candle :D and go to On the Border for dinner or stop in Mystic, Ct on the way. Anyone know of any other places we could spend a night that has some interesting shopping (not just a mall) or something unusual to see and family friendly restaurants in the area of the place suggested? Thanks
2 AnswersOther - United States1 decade agoMy Pug is sick, waiting on ultrasound results. What do these symptoms sound like to you?
I have a 10 year old male, neutered pug. He poops once a day, liquid & gassy. His protein is low. He eats boiled chicken and a canned dog food he likes with no problem but throws up rice (boiled to mushiness), he's not sitting much but laying flat on his belly - but he likes laying that way. Sleeps well at night. Is taking vitamin C for bladder ph management, phenobarbital for a seizure he had in May, something for diarrhea and an antibiotic. Had an ultrasound on Thursday, still waiting for results. Has been perkier since starting the antis as well as wagging his tail more. Is not getting out for the number of walks he "should" . Weak back end made worse by jumping (off the footstool). He did eat Nutro dog food for most of his life (alot of sick dogs) Any thoughts?
4 AnswersDogs1 decade agoIs there a better way to ventilate to avoid allergy symptoms?
It seems that either head colds or severe allergies has struck my family - worse than I've ever seen. The poor dog is sneezing right along with us! It's too cold to put the AC on to clean the air, perfect open window weather. I suspect one of the worst offenders is our lawn. Silly question but would it cut down on allergy symptoms if I kept the windows on the lawn side of the house closed and opened them on the side that is basically dirt/sand? What can I do to keep the air somewhat free of pollen while still enjoying fresh air?
2 AnswersAllergies1 decade agoWhere can I find sturdy & inexpensive reusable shopping bags?
I've picked up a bunch at the supermarket and various other places for 99 cents but the plastic on the bottom breaks pretty quickly and the bag gets mushy. I wouldn't mind spending a little extra to get a bag that stands up well (helps with the bagging/presorting) and that has a sturdy bottom that will last but yet will fold up pretty compactly for storage. Is there anything like that out there? I wouldn't mind spending up to $5.00 each if they will last. Any suggestions?
9 AnswersGreen Living1 decade agoWhat's wrong with my puggie?
And before you say anything, yes, he's been to the vet as soon as we could when we realized it wasn't just a "passing" seizure". He's 10 years old. He usually has like one robotic seizure a year that results in us seeing a rubber band or some other weird object when he goes to the bathroom next time. But this time was different. He had 3 shaking/trembling seizures in a couple of hours time and then when we got to the emergency vet he had a loud shrieking one where he proceeded to pee on himself. I opted to leave him overnight so he would be where he needed to be if there were more problems. They did a blood test, got his electrolytes where they needed to be and saw some indication of Addison's disease so they did a blood test but we won't have the results until Tuesday or Wednesday at least. He's on an anti-seizure medication now but his back end is wobblier than when we first brought him in. He doesn't fall but it has a mind of it's own. He's had loose stools for a while but I am narrowing that down to things he is sensitive to. Has anyone been through anything like this ? I hate the waiting, should we be waiting? Thanks!
2 AnswersDogs1 decade agoWhat is the best mini carpet shampooer?
I have an older, very stubborn pug. Lately he's been pooping around the house - not alot but I let him out and if he doesn't go when I request it of him umpteen times (most times he does or I just know he has to go) he ends up doing it in the house most times in the middle of the night. I need to get a small carpet shampooer that I can keep at the ready that won't make alot of noise at 1 a.m. for example. Anyone have any good luck with any for this purpose? I have a huge shampooer that I lug out the next morning but the smell lingers until then :( Thanks!
4 AnswersDogs1 decade agoWhat is the process to be diagnosed with (or without) ADD?
I am going to make an appointment with my family physician to look into ADD and my 11 yr old. The receptionist said that is where we start and then we will be referred. What are the steps that we should be encountering that will diagnose (or not) if ADD is the cause of the learning problems that he is having?
7 AnswersGrade-Schooler1 decade agoHow do you get a kid to give a darn?
My son is 11 and just doesn't "get" that if he fails he stays back, if he blames others for stuff that is his fault it's not gonna fly, that he is going to have a future someday and he is restricting himself horribly? My son is 11 and nothing seems to matter to him. He is failing two classes and he is blaming everyone but himself. How do I get him to own up and just care a little? He wants to be treated as an "adult" but doesn't want to do his part. Any suggestions? Talking doesn't help, no - I won't beat him :) He's a great kid, stays out of trouble, is funny and loving but just doesn't give a cr*p...
13 AnswersGrade-Schooler1 decade agoHow do I get rid of week old paint smell?

5 AnswersDecorating & Remodeling1 decade agoWhat is a good dog food?
I was giving my dog Nutro Natural and his health took a turn for the worst so I got him off of there and he's on turkey & rice for a few days. I really need to start him on kibble again but I don't know of a good quality food. I'm thinking that something from the supermarket would be fine as the "quality" food I thought I was giving him actually wasn't, but there are so many choices. He's a 9 yr old pug so high fat content or really rich food wouldn't be a good idea. Suggestions? Thanks
13 AnswersDogs1 decade agoWhat could I give to my dog to "loosen" him up?
I was feeding my dog Nutro dog food and having a horrible diarrhea problem so I took him off that and gave him boiled rice & chop meat and now he's all bound up. I'm not sure what food I'm going to switch him to but right now he's uncomfortable. What can I give him to get things moving again?

3 AnswersDecorating & Remodeling1 decade agoMy dog has bad diarrhea - any suggestions?
I have a pug - he's about 9 years old and for about a month or so his poop has been getting wetter and wetter and now it literally sounds like a faucet is running when he goes. He doesn't have to go more than usual and he's drinking lots of water, his tail is usually up (if it's down he doesn't feel well) and he's behaving pretty normally.
I give him Nutro Natural - was giving him light for the longest time then gradually switched him to regular and now he's switched over to sensitive stomach but it doesn't seem to be helping
I brought him and a stool sample to the vet and the sample came back ok - no worms or anything. He's been on metronidazole 250 mg since Monday
I tried making lots of changes around here to keep him from eating things he shouldn't be and I don't know what to do next. Any thoughts?
