Why are our bodies so badly designed? Our backs are not very well built as a load bearing structure, which is why we have so much back pain as a species.

The human female reproductive system is not very well designed, either. Most apes have a very wide birth canal which makes childbirth very easy, but with humans, the babies have to make two 90 degree turns in a very short space just in order to get the head out.

Yeah, we can walk upright, but the trade off is loads of pressure on our knees.

I remember a cereal from the late 80s that was very similar to animal crackers. It's main mascot was a lion, but one of the other characters was a female camel. I've had this happen a few times, where chrome will crash and then my computer gets the dreaded BSOD. Last night, when it happened, I kept getting an error upon restart that my computer couldn't find the boot device (don't remember the exact wording of the message) I left it shut off until this morning, and then when I turned it on, chkdsk ran automatically to fix bad sectors. Anyone else have this problem, and if so, how do i prevent it in the future?

To be clear, I'm a straight man who fully supports the rights of gays and lesbians being able to marry the person they love. I'm just trying to find if someone can give me a clear, well thought out reason why bigotry should be codified into law.

If gay marriage is legalized across the country, straight people will not be forced to marry persons of the same sex, nor will churches be forced to perform services for same-sex couples. (churches can already refuse to marry couples based on things like the faith of the participants, if one or both of the couple has been divorced, and many other reasons)

The whole 'marriage is for procreation' argument is a wash, as well, because couples who are infertile, past child bearing age, and those that simply don't want children are still allowed to wed.

As for the whole "gays want to recruit others into their lifestyle" argument, that's shullbit, too. You either are gay, or you're not. It's not a choice, period. Science has proven this, no matter how much some people try to deny it.

Gays are not more likely to be pedophiles, either. Percentage-wise, most pedophiles are straight males. (this is why the numbers of girls who are sexually abused is higher than the numbers of boys who are victims)

And homosexuality *IS* natural, and has been observed in countless species of birds and mammals, including, but not limited to, penguins, swans, dolphins, elephants, dogs, and the two species most closely related to humans, chimpanzees and bonobos.

As to the 'ick factor', nobody is suggesting that you have sex with someone of the same gender if you're straight. If the thought of two men together makes you ill, DON'T THINK ABOUT IT.

And finally, we have the 'God/Allah/Deity XYZ forbids it' argument. Not everyone in this country believes in the same deity as you, and the laws of this country were designed to protect it's citizens from being forced to accept the tenets of a faith they do not belong to. Why should civil rights be beholden to religious beliefs in a secular, pluralistic society? I personally don't believe in ANY god.Why should I have to live by the code of YOUR faith?
