What is the nicest thing a woman in your life has ever done or said to you?
This could be anyone, mother, grandmother, friend, girlfriend?
The last thing I can remember is being told by a close friend that I inspired her. That was fan-freakin-tastic.
(I will ask about a man too, just didn't want to clutter up the place)
20 AnswersGender Studies1 decade agoBirmingham, AL?
I'm heading to B'ham soon, have never been, and am hoping to get some info on the city. Where to go, where not to go, in the sense of the 'good' or 'bad' sides of town. I don't want to end up somewhere I shouldn't. Thanks so much in advance!!
2 AnswersOther - United States1 decade agoWhy do you wear makeup? How do you anwer this?
I don't have children yet, but was talking with my fiance in regard to this issue. How do you answer this question without influencing the self-esteem of your daughter? I can think of numerous responses such as, "Because I like to", "Because I can" etc... It seems to me that respones like, "Because it makes me feel good" implies that one doesn't feel good with out it. Please share your thoughts....
16 AnswersParenting1 decade agoNon-Veterans/Military: Won't you please join me?
In giving a gigantic thank you to all currently serving and those that have served. My father is a Vietnam Veteran and my friend Darron was seriously injured in Iraq. I'm about to go catch some zzzz's, but something was telling me I needed to say thanks. So, here's some easy points for all of you and some much deserved appreciation for our men and women in and of the military.
Thank you for your service, thank you, thank you, thank you....
7 AnswersMilitary1 decade agoAny chance we can suck it up and start working together?
I ask because reading through these postings I see nothing but division. Can we not toss aside this distraction of cons vs libs and this one party loyalty that causes nothing but division. It's not about conservatives or liberals or republicans or democrats - it's about America....
Keep in mind that the rhetoric being thrown at us now in the media is for winning elections and nothing else.
One of my favorite ideas sort of applies here: The difference between professionals and non-professionals is that non-professionals complain about problems whereas professionals solve them. I think it's time for us to all be a little more professional, quit complaining and act. Who's with me?
12 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoAttention Muslims - this one's for you?
I recently heard a talk radio program regarding the lack of protest or any sort of participation by peace seeking Muslims to show their opposition to the situation in Iraq. A caller to the program explained that this would never happen. I don't understand why. I may be naive, but I can only see benefit when it comes to you uniting with the rest of the world against this sort of thing. Please help me understand.
I realize I will receive, let's call them 'silly' answers....I'm hoping for real answers to a real question and if you're not Muslim, you're not helping.
11 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoSeparate from your party and then unite?
I was listenting to Glenn Beck yesterday and he suggested that we all leave the political parties we are affiliated with, act as independents, and force our government officials to really work for our votes. I consider myself a middle-of-the road kind of girl anyway, liberal on some issues, conservative on others. I've curious about your thoughts on this. What sort of impact would this have on our current presedential cantidates if they knew we weren't voting just based on party affiliation? Looking forward to your ideas!
9 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoLeaving the U.S.?
Just wondering if I'm the only one born in the U.S. who is considering leaving eventually. I don't want my children, if I decide to have them, to grow up with the values of the majority in this country. I'm thinking an organic farm somewhere in the country miles and miles from neighbors in Ireland, Scotland, or a Scandinavian country....
Who's with me....
20 AnswersOther - Society & Culture1 decade agoIs it okay to kennel a cat?
My cat has diabetes and is having some problems with missing the litter box. To avoid trashing the carpet in our apartment we have thought about kenneling him with his litter box and food in a large dog kennel. Of course, we would only do this when we are not at home. Anyone know if this is okay to do with a cat?
15 AnswersCats1 decade agoInfo on insulin resistance in cats?
For the past few month we have been administering insulin (vetsulin) to our cat. Each time we take him back for a glucose test his blood sugar is higher than before. We have increased the insulin each time. Any suggestions? Should we chalk it up to insulin resistance or should we change insulins? Just wanting to hear other similar experiences.

27 AnswersOther - Society & Culture1 decade agoWhere do you stand on equal pay for equal work?
Recently in my Sociology class I discovered that women receive .76 to every dollar men receive. This is astonishing to me that the legislation was passed for equal pay 40+ years ago and things are still unequal.
