Religion and Spirituality I use to be a Christian. I was one for a very long time. Ultimately I decided that Jesus was not the only way to heaven. Family I've been happily married for six years and together for eight. My husband and I have a great relationship, and I am so very lucky to have him. We have no kids, but we've been trying. I have a condition called PCOS which prevents me from becoming pregnant.

  • Is it ok to hug a Muslim? Is looking them in the eye friendly or combative?

I want to make my Muslim neighbors feel welcome in this turbulent time, but I have no idea what's a culturally acceptable way for me to reach out as a women. Can I talk to the women, or only the men? Are handshakes ok? How about arm/ shoulder pats?

I know how to talk to people, it's the cultural differences in body language that has me stumped. I'm a white, married, female American btw.

  • What's a "Chick Flick" movie about a woman who has loved losers in the past and had her heart broken?

so much that she can't love someone deserving as much as she ought to.

  • Can you help me with a general objective for a resume?

I need a very general objective for a resume that will be handed out to many different potential employers. Sort of a one size fits all kind of thing. Any job will be an entrance level job, so nothing specialised.

  • My cast iron skillet caught fire. Do I have to re-season it?

I took it outside to let it burn on the sidewalk. I was trying to season it, but the oil got too hot. I've never seasoned a skillet before.

  • What supplements do I need?

I've been a vegetarian for a year now and though I hate taking supplements, I wondered if I really need to. I would much rather eat healthier than to take vitamins. The only thing I can think of that my diet is missing is Omega threes. But I think I can get that from flax seed.

Just so you know, I get plenty of protein. From beans, cheese, nuts, and my daily protein shot* ;)

    *(haha) 8O

So in summary, I eat my major food groups (except meat), is there anything I'm missing?

  • Is it irrational to believe in?

something experienced by people of every culture, ethnicity, religion, language, geographical area, age, and time period in recorded history?

Would it not be more irrational to claim certainty that all these people who came before you are wrong? Instead clinging to "scientifically proven facts" when history shows that science is always changing what they claim the "facts" and "truth" are.

It's wise to try to continuously learn and expand one's knowledge. But the only way to truly do that is to consider all the facts, including those which you have not personally seen or experienced. Especially when experienced by others en-mass.

  • Nothing from Christians?

I am most definitely a theist. I owe you all a debt of gratitude as this was important to me, once I realise it was an issue. Thank you for your answers.

(can you believe I only got two or three smart a** answers in the last two questions, and not one Christian telling me I was going to hell?!?)

So feel free to commence the stone throwing, as nature now has to rectify its self

  • Ok, so I don't know what I'm talking about maybe I'm not agnostic?

Maybe I would be more accurately labeled as something else. I honestly didn't know there were so many religious labels possible. WILL YOU HELP ME OUT? This is long so I'M GONNA PUT THE IMPORTANT STUFF IN BOLD.

I believe everything has a purpose. This leads me to the presumption that all things work together. I cannot believe we were all put here for no purpose. So I suppose I BELIEVE IN A HIGHER BEING(S)

I tend to be more open to the idea of Abraham's God simply because this is what I was raised with - but if I found something that made more since to me (oh the possibilities) I would accept it.

I DON'T KNOW IF HEVEN OR HELL EXSISTS. I THINK WE ALL HAVE A SOUL/SPIRIT but I don't know what happens to it when we die. I believe that somethings are fundamentally wrong, but I'm open to reason in most areas.

    IS THIS A RELIGION?

IF SO, WHAT IS IT CALLED?

*I'm sorry if I offended anyone with my previous question*

Also, this is not a bull s**t question, I've been searching for three years and I really thought I had my category right. Apparently I was wrong.

  • Agnostics: Do you ever get tired of being called?

    Atheist?

I mean everyone seems to always want to dump us together. Agnostic just means you don't know what you believe. It dosen't mean you see one side more favorably than the next.

  • Agnostics: What started your search?

Have you always been searching, if not what triggered it? What religions or wisdom have you found? What religion did you abandon?

I am agnostic - formerly Christian. Just wanted to know a little about the rest of you. Especially what religions you have tried and left.

  • I think I need a new graphics card, but I don't know where to start.?

Computers are magic to me. I don't know how they run, nor do I care to learn. I do however want my games to run. I AM SO STUPID, WILL YOU PLEASE HELP ME?

It says I need this in order to run the game:

OS Windows Vista, XP, Me, 2000, or 98

    CPU 1.0 GHz or faster

RAM 256 MB or more (512 MB required for Windows Vista or running with multiple expansion packs installed)

DISC DRIVE 8x or faster CD/DVD drive

HARD DRIVE At least 5.5 GB of free space

VIDEO DirectX 9.0c compatible video card

    SOUND DirectX 9.0x compatible

*Video card must have 32MB or more memory (^$ MB for Windows Vista) and one of these T&L capable chipsets: ATI Radeon 8500 or greater; (900 or greater required for Vista); NVIDIA GeForce2 GTS or greater (GeForce 6200 or greater required for Vista)

And now, here's what I could find out about my computer from the system screen:

    Windows edition:

    Windows Vista Home Premium (2006)

    System:

    Manufacturer: Acer

    Model: Aspire M1610

    Rating: 2.8 Windows Experience Index

    Processor: Intel(R) Pentium(R) Dual CPU E2140 @ 1.60GHz 1.60GHz

    Memory (RAM): 895 MB

    System type: 32-bit Operating System

I don't know if I even have a video card, much less what kind it is. I'm trying to load Sims Double Deluxe It loads but it runs really slow, and all the walls are flashing red. The light and shadow is really off, and movemnt is chopy.

I have a feeling I need a new graphics card, because it's the graphics that are off, but I DON'T KNOW WHAT KIND TO GET, WHERE TO GET IT, HOW TO INSTALL IT, HOW MUCH IT COSTS ect...

Thank you so much for your help! I know I'm an idiot when it comes to these thing, but IF YOU COULD TALK TO ME AS IF I WERE FIVE, I'D APRECIATE IT. I do not understand a word of the system properties and requirements I listed above.
