I'm a bilingual seventeen year old girl with dual citizenship to America and Hungary. I am currently attending a rather challenging private school, at where I work very hard to make good grades. I love sciences (especially biology and chemistry- not so much physics), and I enjoy playing piano and singing. I lean left and am an agnostic atheist. I aspire to be an anesthesiologist.I do a lot of random sections on Yahoo Answers, but I go on homework help and P&S most often. If you are here because I offended you let me just apologize now. I promise I am a decent person even if I seem distasteful or obscene occasionally. Sometimes I sound offensive when I don't mean to be. Feel free to message me:) All adds appreciated! Love to my wonderful fans/contacts! Fun Fact: I'm really tall (a quarter of an inch short of 5'9") and fairly thin.

  • To those who know a lot about mental health: what could this be?

Someone I'm very close to has several interesting and rather bothersome characteristics, that I suspect may be indicative of perhaps mild autism. I will list the behaviors from least unusual to most.

She tends to get very interested in certain subjects, often writing lists. This habit of getting very deeply interested in a topic has improved with age, but she still writes lists sometimes. She enjoys organizing and has written labels all over her room. She making schedules and simply organizing in general.

This person, when walking with groups of people always walks off ahead or wanders off, and seems unable to how to adjust herself to group behaviors. Another group rule she seems to violate is her tendency to just leave, dinner, events, etc.

When I walk side by side with this person, she will walk faster, so that she is a foot or so ahead of me. It's kind of an understood social norm that when you walk with a person you are side by side.

This person pacing excessively. She simply cannot have a day where she doesn't do it.

When she paces she is very quick. She looks down, usually lost in thought while doing it, often smiling at the ground. She is so lost in her world it has happened that she bumps into objects, or even walks right into people! Once, she walked right into a car while she was looking down and lost in thought, looked up confused, and then simply went around the car, seemingly unaware of how bizarre it was that she had just walked into a damn car.

  • Why do conservatives promote trickle down economics?

The only thing that trickles down in trickle down economics is the strength, power, and wellbeing of any nation employing such pro-too-big-to-fail policies. The average American is left to struggle. Tax increases on people who don't have money to give makes no sense. Meanwhile, massive corporations that do as little as they can to help the average worker, see a massive increase in already astronomically large profit margins. WHY?

  • What degree burn did I get?

A few years ago, I was in Europe at my grandmother's house when she was making tea. She had boiled water for the tea and put the kettle on the stone floor so that it would cool off. I don't know how long it had been sitting there when I tripped over the kettle, but very, very hot water spilled all over my foot.

It was so painful at first I didn't even feel anything, but just a little bit later I was in extreme pain. I rushed to the bathtub in a nearby bathroom and blasted my toe with cold water.

For the next few days, unless my foot was deeply immersed in cold water, my entire foot would be in an unbearable, sharp pain (and I have relatively high pain tolerance). It took maybe a month for it to fully heal, I don't quite remember. I do remember however that colour of my foot was unusual. It was a kind of white/gray. I remember a very long time after the event took place one day, a huge mass of skin just like... fell off. It was so scary. It was just like a huge glob of skin just like slipped off. It was horrifying to see the burn was so bad that it would have such an effect.

I cannot remember if I had blisters.

  • Do I have to pay for out of state tuition if one of my parents lives in that state?

My mom moved to California a year ago. I lived with her for a year with my brother. I want to graduate from by old school because it has better academics, which means I'll have to move in with my dad for senior year in Mississippi. However, I want to attend a UC school at an instate price. Will this be possible if I move to Mississippi since my mom and my step dad pay taxes to the CA government?

Please help if you can. Thank you!

  • Should I take calculus?

I don't know if I want to take calculus next year as a senior. I am okay at math. I am in precalc and have 83% average.

Supposedly, calculus is hard, but I know I can handle it if I study. My question is this- is taking a class like calculus akin in benefit to something like honors chemistry in terms of college admissions?

If it's not a class that will impress colleges like an honors or ap class then I still want to take it- just because I want to be able to take pride in the levels of classes I've taken. But if it really is a too hard class that doesn't even impress colleges, I'm not sure I want to take it.

  • When you join National Honors Society, is it your overall high school gpa that matters or just your current?

I've always wanted to be a part of NHS but I never quite had the GPA. Freshman year, I had something like a 2.5 and sophomore year 3.4 ish. It's junior year and I currently have a 3.7. Can I join even though my overall high school gpa is like a 3.2?

  • What shoe size am I?

I am 5'9" (I know, I'm a tall girl) and I wear size eight shoes (sometimes I wear 7.5, but it's a tad uncomfortable). I measured my foot by taping a piece of paper on the floor and tracing an outline along the shape of my foot and then measuring that outline. I found my foot was 9.75 inches, which according to an online calculator is a size 8 shoe.

I don't know if I'm wearing the right shoe size because girls shorter than me or my height wear nines and sometimes even tens. Am I measuring my feet wrong or are my feet just abnormally small? Perhaps other girls are just wearing roomy shoes? I like mine snug, but not tight by any means. Anyway, I'm curious if this is the right shoe size for a 17 year old girl at my height.

  • Who pays for prom tickets?

Prom tickets are just over 150 per person. I asked a guy to prom so that would means I have to pay, but I don't know how I am going to ask my parents to pay over 300 dollars for that. My dress was already 300. I haven't even brought shoes yet either. I was planning on just buying my own ticket and asking him to pay his but I don't know how to ask him to do that. What do I do? Is it socially acceptable to request the invited person to pay all of theirs?

  • Ap bio help. Genetics question?

Suppose a fictional bird is real, and this bird has eight separate genes for tail length per haploid genome, with each gene having to alleles. One allele for each gene (a1, b1, and so on) increases the length by 1 cm, whereas the other allele (a2, b2, and so on) increases it by 0.5 cm. If a bird has the genotype a1a1b2b2c1c2d1d2e2e2f1f2g1g1h1h2, then what is the length of its tail? Please show the process used for getting the answer.

  • Why do I feel so different from everyone else if I am ordinary?

When I was younger, I incessantly felt like I was incredibly different from everyone-- I had different interests and I wasn't absorbed in culture and music that others were. People weren't outright mean to me, but it was pretty obvious to me as a child that other girls weren't interested in befriending me at all. As time passed, I slowly became less and less of an individual and conformed to the mold that people of my age and sex are supposed to fill.

I recently moved to a new school in a new state. No one knew who I was, so I could blend in and be just like everyone else without anyone thinking of me as that weird kid they knew growing up who tried to stop being weird. And I guess I fit in now because the type of people that wouldn't have talked to me are now interested in being my friend. I enjoy their company, of course, but I can't help but feel they still secretly think I'm weird or misfit or what have you.

Why would I feel this way? Someone please help because I can't put up with this uneasiness much longer. What the hell is wrong with me?

  • My friend is brainwashed....help?

My best friend has become a crazy feminist. I'm tolerant of all political views and opinions, so long as they aren't to an extreme. She thinks there is no such thing as a girl who has too much sex with too many men, and even believes that men and women have the same amount of strength (in terms of muscle). I tried to explain to her that people are sexual dimorphic, and that no credible scientific source would ever try to claim such a thing. But she doesn't want to hear it.

I will love her no matter what. I refuse to let this come in between us, as we have been friends since we were just young children, and she is very close to my heart. But I don't know how to overcome this hurdle. Up until now we have had the exact same political views and opinions.

  • Do people ever die breathing in?

In movies you always see people taking their last breath with one last faithful exhale. But can a person die inhaling (assuming they didn't get shot in the head or were involved in a freak accident as they were breathing in).

  • Facebook logging in issues...?

I can't log into my account because I forgot my password. The email I used doesn't work anymore, so I can't recover my password. It also won't send the code to my cell phone, so I can't confirm my identity. Facebook just gave me this message-

"We're sorry you're having trouble recovering your email address. Unfortunately, this means we can't verify who you are or give you access to the Facebook account you're trying to log into. We may hide the information on your Facebook account if we detect that you cannot regain access to it."

    What can I do now?

  • Is it plagiarizing to write something from your textbook into your notes word for word?

I don't think it is, since I am not selling or distributing my notes, but I don't know. I am literally copying a couple of the sentences from my textbook into my notes, because it's so much easier to understand the way the textbook writes it. It's not quite as clear when I put it in my own words. My teacher may or may not be checking to see if the notes are written in my own words, I don't know. I actually doubt she would do that, but I don't know.

Also, if it's not plagiarizing to put it in my notes, is it also not plagiarizing to share my notes with other people that ask for a copy?

Do I source the textbook or what?
