  • Can I use any carpet shampoo with my Bissell Proheat?

I tried steaming my carpet with a Rug Doctor, and it didn't work, so I bought a Bissell Proheat. I wanted to use up all the cleaner that I bought for the Rug Doctor before I purchase Bissell carpet shampoo for my new cleaner. The shampoo for the Rug Doctor says it's compatible with all carpet cleaning machines, but the Proheat manual says only to use the Bissell products. I'm a little confused here. Should I use the Rug Doctor shampoo or not?

  • Why does WIC have foods that are high GI?

Diabetes runs in my family. I'm borderline diabetic and I've explained that diabetes runs in my family to them. They still teach that table sugar/sweets contribute to diabetes when they're actually medium GI. When I buy food for my 2 year old son, I'd rather get foods that are low GI. Unfortunately, the cereals and "whole grains" they allow are all high GI aside from whole grain barley, which is unavailable to me in my area. When are they going to have real health foods available on WIC as advertised?

  • I've no idea what's going on! Do you?

Okay, so I've had pregnancy symptoms for a few weeks now (nausea, spotting on Oct 14th for four days, weight gain, bloated, tired, memory problems, irritability, no period). I normally wouldn't ask any questions about it, as I've had 2 children successfully, but on Monday, I started spotting again and last night I had CONTRACTIONS. My last "normal" period was on Sept 20th or so. The contractions died down, but increased again this afternoon. Also, my general practitioner says the blood test is negative for pregnancy. I have an appointment Monday with an ob/gyn. What's going on???

  • Help with my cat's eyes?

I have a kitten that I found abandoned in front of a local grocery store. When I found her, she had the worst eye infection I'd ever seen and I didn't know if she would survive. I successfully treated her for the infection with some eye drops, however, the cataracts are still there. The only symptoms she has now are the cataracts and she weeps brownish tears. I stopped treating her with eye drops because she won't tolerate it anymore. She's not suffering or in pain, but people complain about the cataracts in her eyes. I would like a natural solution for this that I can do at home as I have a limited budget due to the economy. Thanks!

  • My doctors insist I'm RH- but I'm really Rh+. What could be causing this?

I've even tested myself and it came back positive after 30 minutes. My question is how to get my Rh+ to show up after a ten minute test. Am I anemic? Or is my Rh factor weak due to something else? My doctors don't believe me and won't give me an answer. They say this is impossible.
