  • LED light and sound module project for christmas ornament?

I'm seeking the right product for my project needs. Upon request I may be able to send a pic of the project diagram to help visualize it. I'm making a holida ornament for my friends at work. The ornament is a small head inside a crystal ball sitting on a decorative table made from cardboard. Under the card board I plan on attaching a sound module with 10 second playback recording. Hopefully this next feature is able to come attached with the device, but if not then hopefully it can be added later. While the sound is playing back I would like there to be a mini UV LED light to illuminate the miniature head inside the crystal ball. All of this should be activated using a small button on the underside of the card that the device will be mounted on. If a replenishable battery feature can be added then all of my needs will be met. Please respond with serious suggestions, lists of sellers with all the product needed to complete this, and possibly directions on constructing the mechanism. I will pay if there is someone able to fabricate this for me. I've seen many decorative items with all of these funtions before but am having a difficult time locating all of the components online.

    Thank you.

  • Tranferring to different attraction at Disney World?

I'm a current cast member working at the Walt Disney World Resort as a college program student (CP). Currently I work at the Tomorrowland Speedway and have been here for almost three months. I'm wanting desperately DESPERATELY to transfer to The Haunted Mansion for the new semester, but unfortunately everywhere I turn to I get no no no No NO NO!!!!! I'm going to see every one I can about this, talking to everyone I can making phone calls and schmoozing with area managers in both my and the other area's and absolutely nothing seems to be going any further.

This is my DREAM job. :( I see dozens of students working at the mansion who didn't request the attraction and transferred from somewhere else.

    -2 lifeguards

    -1 Emporium

    -2 new international

    -3 international transfer

    -2 new hire students

And they say at casting that they were too full to begin with. They didn't want to admit that their department allows transfers at all or that you can work certain attractions and transfer to a new land. What ever the case, I'm still going to try my best and not stop requesting and making those phone calls because I worked too hard and sacrificed too much to come here and stay here so this is very important to me. And I hope someday I will look back on this with pride, because I know I can do the best I can and somehow get where I need to be.

My question is................... Is there someone out there who can help me :( I will be willing to do whatever necessary to achieve this dream and make it a reality. ANYTHING. Respond at your earliest convenience and I will answer back with great anticipation. I'm a real sport, I do mean ANYTHING. :)

    Thank you.

  • Auditioning for a character on a Broadway tour?

All my life I've been ignored when it comes to expressing my ambitions. I've done my best and asked every possible person of importance about my dream of joining a Broadway tour some day and I seem to be getting ignored completely rather than actually sending some response to my messages. Mind you, they are brief, concise, and well meaning messages and I never shower one person with dozens of annoying messages EVER. So I don't think of myself as being annoying. So why do these people leave me cold? :(

My goal is to someday join the touring cast of "The Addams Family" as Fester Addams. It's pretty successful right now so I think it's possible they would have a tour. I would love to speak with anyone who might potentially help me to atleast audition.

Don't tell me I need to be a celebrity because hey, these celebrities started somewhere in obscurity and rose to the top. I'm extremely comfortable on stage and love to perform. I've done community college plays and shows at the community playhouse which is a top contender among many theaters here in Iowa. I can sing of course and I also believe I have the exact voice and look required for the role. It's a type cast and I AM THAT TYPE!!!!! :)

So in conclusion my question for you all out there is how I can acheive my goal. Who do I call? Where do I go? What does it take?

    Thank you.

  • If I reset my Dell computer, will I lose my file content?

aka. my iTunes downloads and songs, pictures, documents, etc? My internet suddenly refuses to connect with the internet. I have a cisco router and a Mac home computer. The cisco connects with my Mac so my Dell is my wireless. I don't know why all of these windows keep popping up saying that it's trying to connect. Over and over and over and over again. I just want it to connect automatically. So I'm starting all over but I need to know that my files are safe from being erased.

If reseting my computer is a bad idea, tell me how to at least reset the internet on my Dell laptop.

    Vostro 1000, Windows Vista.

    That's all I know, sorry.

  • How can I design my own pocket watch?

I'm really wanting to design a face for a pocket watch. I'm either looking for a custom pocket watch kit or a company website that makes unique custom pocket watches. Specifically I'm looking to recreate The Haunted Mansion's 40th anniversary pocket watch and I'm not about to pay nearly $400 dollars for the real thing. Also, The real one has a pewter colored casing and mine needs to be gold.

  • How do I make this work (alternating currents between lights with fade switch and battery pack)?

I have a design for a costume which requires this special effect to work. I plan to conceal a light inside a top hat and another in a box that is carried by a handle. The two light bulbs are connected by wires that go to one singular battery power source. Another wire leads from the box to a fade switch that should control the current going from one bulb to the next by moving the switch up and down. I would like to know if all this can be accomplished while keeping the circuitry simple and compact. I would also really like to know what bulbs to use. I would love to use two black LED lights, but I can't seem to find any. I would accept using regular bright white LEDs. Basically what I need is a name for all the parts in my sketched out schematics. What wires should I use, etc.?

Below is are my schematics example A and B. Again, current should fade from A to B by using fade switch C.

  • Should I consider putting my new character on YouTube?

I've developed a new character that I think will be a hit (or a complete and humiliating disaster.) I really think this could get me up to 1,000,000 viewers which has always been my goal. The only real reason I'm considering to abandon this project is because I don't want to be one of those viewer crazy YouTubers that make random **** on YouTube just to try and get famous. I personally don't care.

If I end up becoming quite popular as a result of this, fantastic but if I don't it wont bother me at all. So I guess you could say I have nothing to lose. But the real question is,

Is this even worth a shot despite the possible humiliation?

  • Anyone have skeletons in the backyard?

I remember watching 'scariest places on earth' on t.v. and there was an episode where a team of paranormal investigators were digging around the grounds of an old house looking for human remains. They found what looked like part of a human femur and stopped filming saying "The sheriff's department has no plans of excavating the alleged burial site."

If I had video evidence of human remains being recovered on residential property I would assume the sheriff's dept. would be more involved. Or some sort of investigation be conducted, but it was not made clear if there were really human remains buried under that house.

Out of curiosity I wonder if anyone has accidentally discovered human remains on their property and actually 'saw' these bodies being uncovered.

  • I need a Haunted Attractions Book?

I'm anxious to build a haunted house for this year as part of a fundraiser and I found a promising book on ebay, but was outbid. A book that sold for $10.00 when it usually goes for $300.00 online at places like Amazon or Alibris, etc. I need an easy to follow haunted house guide similar to Michael B. Tucker's "Do It Yourself Haunted House Guide." If you have any good haunt books for me I'd love to purchase them at a resonable price. Please I'm going out of my mind searching.

  • What is the sickest story you've ever read in the paper?

I write short plays for the stage and I get my best material from the newspaper. Some of the material would include the craziest, sickest, most depraved or disgusting things you ever heard a person do.

Example: "Two men were caught breaking into a cemetery carrying a pickaxe, a crowbar, a shovel and a box of condoms".....connect the dots.

  • Can I be arrested for closing my ebay account?

I'm having a dispute with a seller and I'm sorry but I just want to bail on the whole thing and start all over. I know it seems wrong but did I send a courteous email to the seller saying that "There's been a mistake and I cannot purchase this item at this time" and he kinda blows up on me. I said that I contacted ebay and they told me canceling a transaction was very simple, yet this seller insists about dragging on this dispute.

Here's my question (if you came here to judge walk away):

If I deactivate my ebay account will this whole thing just disappear? Can I really be arrested for doing so?

  • I just made an offer I didn't mean to buy?

So I'm shopping for a camera to take with me while I was participating in the disney college internship program and found a decent camera Canon Powershot A590 selling for $145.00 I knocked it down and made a $130.00 offer. I thought I was just making an offer that the buyer would review and accept before I made my final decision.

I assumed that if the seller accepted my offer it would be available for me to purchase it until a certain time, but noooooo..... Next thing I know, I get an email saying "Congrats! You just bought this item!" The seller accepted and friggin' closed the deal 1-2-3. Done. !?!?!?!?

I'm sorry for being inexperienced with this ebay, but I kindly asked the seller to cancel it and he/she sends me a veeeery touchy email saying that I cost him/her money by cancelling. "I DIDN'T KNOW THAT!!! I'm sorry but I didn't." I just found a better, newer, cheaper camera literally right after the deal was closed. Just my luck. Now I'm obligated to pay and I don't have money to buy both cameras?

Now you're filled in on the situation which boils down to this question.

"How much does it cost the seller when a buyer wants to cancel their order."

  • Do It Yourself Haunted House Guide By: Michael B. Tucker?

I need someone to show me where to find this book FOR CHEAP! I think it's completely idiotic to sell a book on Amazon.com for $299.89! Sure there's only one copy but for goodness sake, it's 120 pages. I really would like to know if someone out there is selling this book or has seen it somewhere. I'm willing to pay a reasonable price for it.

  • Casting a bronze statue?

I'm creating a special sculpture for my grandmother who passed away a year and a half ago. I want to make a statue of both my grandmother and grandfather standing together holding hands (replicating a photo I found of them when they were first married) and cast the statue in bronze. This statue will hopefully be placed on a red granite slab with a plaque where my grandmother is buried.

I want to do my part as a grandson and as an artist for my special grandparents and hopefully this will be cheaper than a regular head stone. To be honest my family has little to no money. My family is hoping it would be better (less expensive) for me to make a bronze statue than to buy a traditional $1,300 dollar memorial.

So I'm asking; How expensive is it to cast a bronze statue? I understand that size varies but it's basically going to be quarter scale (15" tall) figurines in solid bronze.

    Thank you.

  • Obama and views on socialism?

My Western Civilization class has been discussing socialism and communism quite a bit lately. And recently something came up during our lecture. I understand that people have said before that Obama supports many socialist views. I guess I've known about this rumor for a while, but just haven't thought much about it or really asked. Does Obama favor socialism? If so, please ellaborate (only if this is true) on the benefits of socialist ideals implemented in American society and how it will differ from all the collapsed socialist governments of eastern society. To my knowledge it seems that socialism and communism are somewhat 'related', but not by much. If our new president is indeed supportive of socialism would that mean we Americans would have to sacrifice many of the liberal aspects of democracy as well as the liberal ideals this government was founded on?

Bear in mind that all I'm really searching for is the truth. No wikipedia nonsense or internet articles that were probably written by some angry guy in his basement. I'm asking the thousands of people out there. I'm tired of hate. I'm seeking wisdom and understanding so please do not smirk and put me down. To ask is to learn.

  • Disney College Internship Program?

Okay so my audition over the phone is today to qualify for an internship program at Walt Disney World Resort. I need those who have interviewed before to tell me what to expect. I'm not nervous, but I'm at a loss for what to say or what they want to hear. Tell me all that you can about this process and what follows after when/if I arrive at the park.

  • How much of The Music Man was filmed in Iowa?

Did they film any part of the newest version of "The Music Man" in Iowa? Just curious. Wondering if any movie musicals such as "State Fair" and "The Pajama Game" were filmed here in Iowa at all.
