  • What's a good healthcare provider?

I'm 32 years old. I have had on again off again back pain for nearly ten years. I am always in pain though. It is always at least at a level 3. When it flares up, it can go up to a level 7-9. When I work out and stretch regularly, I do find that I feel a lot better. However, any slight misstep, and I am in bedrest for days! Even when I do feel better, there are certain positions and angles where I happen to be at where the pain is excruciating, 9-10. So, I can work out and feel good, make a very slight mistake, and then I stop working out because I’m in pain. Then, I need to get back in the habit again. That’s where I’m at in life. I’m not a whole person.

Recently...an MRI to finally see where I am at with my back. Well, I have degenerative disc disease.

I can live with the pain, sure, but I am tired of it. I am tired of living like this.

I have never really had healthcare coverage. I have hardly ever seen a doctor, but I want to take some steps in fixing things. Other than my spine and poor posture, I’m in good health and shape, and exercise on average.

So, I’m looking to get healthcare insurance. Ideally, I’d like to take necessary steps to see doctors, get referred to a specialist, and hopefully get some sort of operation to fix things.

...can someone tell me some basics about healthcare coverage? What are some good ones? Basic terminology? What to expect? Best scenario? Worst scenario? I live in Texas, by the way.

  • Can I press charges against the driver who hit me while riding my bicycle? - Texas?

I was riding my bicycle down the sidewalk (of a busy street). A woman was exiting a car dealership. She barely slowed down as she closed in on the sidewalk and got close to the street. She bumped into me, causing me to fall onto the street, luckily, there was no traffic. She wasn t going that fast, so she didn t hit me too hard. I basically left with a scratch on my knuckle.

She pulled back into the dealership and waited as I called the cops. She was very concerned and seemed quite nice. However, I still am very angry at the entire incident.

I felt the officer was quite useless. He asked what happened. I gave him a quick version of events. He asked about the condition of my bike, which was slightly damaged. He then asks for an ID from each of us, goes to his car, and comes back about ten min later.

I try to elaborate on what happened. He has no comment, doesn t seem to care. He says we re both free to go and that s it. I try asking him about pressing charges, and he asks why?

I tell him because I was injured and my bike is damaged.

He says no criminal activity occurred.

    ...pretty much what happened.

I just feel like I was assaulted and it s a bit odd that this lady hits someone with a car and just gets to drive away.

I got a quote from a nearby bike shop saying it would be about $40 for a part to fix it (not including labor).

  • New Super Mario Bros. U multiplayer?

...totally just bought the Wii U. How do you use multiplayer on this game? Do you need another controller besides the gamepad, or do you need two more controllers besides the gamepad? Would this also go for any other multiplayer game?

  • Equal opportunity but still segregation? Different employee requirements based on sex?

How can a company claim to be an equal opportunity employer, yet asks different things from its employees?

    Examples:

Women can have earrings but men cannot.

The one that actually pertains to me:

Women need to have their hair tied up in a bun and/or wear a hair net. Men cannot have their hair past their collar, however.

I think it's sexist and stupid. I am personally growing my hair out because I am donating it. I do not feel like it is MY hair to cut off because it is being grown for the purpose of giving it to someone else. There's no way that I am cutting my hair off for this reason. Even so, if I did not have this reason, I see no sense or reason why a female can have long hair but a male cannot.

  • How would you react to a seven-year itch?

Would you be upset if your boyfriend talks to people about a "seven-year itch"? Do you think that's disrespectful?

  • Find the polynomial function with the given zeros?

    Degree: 6

    Leading coefficient: 4

    zeros: 3, 0 (multiplicity 3), and 2-3i

What I had so far was:

    4(x-2-3i)(x-2+3i)(x-3)x^3

    4((x-2)^2-(3i)^2)

    x^2-4x+4+9

    4(x^2-4x+13)(x-3)

    4(x^3-4x^2+13x-3x^2+4x-39)x^3

    4(x^3-7x^2+17x-39)x^3

    4(x^6-7x^5+17x^4-39x^3)

    Final answer:

    4x^6-28x^5+68x^4-156x^3

I am off somewhere. I just know this is not correct.

  • Getting bigger is not my goal. Should I start doing cardio?

I've been working out since the end of January. Some people have told me I look like I'm getting bigger. I'm 5'4", male. I weighed around 133 when I started. I now weigh around 143. I'm slim with the slightest hint of a tummy, but I am not wanting to become big/bulky. I am wanting to be slim but muscular. Like a swimmer's build, which I should probably start swimming too. I don't want to end up too big. My routine has been:

    squats

    dead lifts

    clean and presses

    bench press

    lunges

    skull crushers

and different machines for my triceps and back

I do the max I can lift with the shortest amount of reps, usually around 5 reps, maybe 4. I haven't been doing cardio. Can someone recommend a routine that builds muscle but without bulking you up too much? Or would I just have to change routines every now and then? Like work on building muscle for a few months, do more cardio to slim down for a few months, work on building more muscle again for some months, and repeat with more cardio?

The thing is that I'm short and I don't want to get wide. That would end up making me look even shorter.

  • Does wearing short shorts make a guy look gay?

I am in fact gay, but I don't consider myself completely out.

Anyway, I started going to the gym recently. I find that my shorts that extend a little past my knee make it uncomfortable to work my legs, so I got a pair of shorts to work out in. They are not really too short, but I guess you could say they look short for a guy. I don't think I'd wear them anywhere else but the gym. I'm short, about 5'4" and they come a little past halfway of my thigh.

I've never worn shorts like these, and it felt somewhat awkward seeing the rest of the guys at the gym wearing long shorts. I'm not really the type of person to really care if someone has something negative to say, but I am just not wanting to "out" myself either.

It was just my first time wearing them so far. Does anyone think these type of shorts make a guy seem/look gay? What would you say to someone if/when they were to give a an ugly look or say something ugly to you about the way you look (like-you look gay, etc)?

Can someone help me with this, a formula or anything, I'm stumped on it? I have the answer in the book I am using, but I need to know how to get the answer.

  • Restless Leg Syndrome and MMJ?

I don't live in a state that has medical marijuana, so I'm not looking into that entirely. However, I've just ran across the term "restless leg syndrome" and I'm not sure if I have it exactly. I know that I should consult a doctor to be certain, but I would like a few general opinions.

I've had these symptoms for at least 5 years:

Every once in a while, right before I am going to sleep, I feel this tingling jerk/twitch begin to develop in my legs

When I am asleep, I barely wake up to my other half telling me to "stop it" or "cut that out". Most of the time I sleep on the floor because I don't want them to be bothered in their sleep (and because I have back problems). When I wake up, I am told that I am kind of "running in my sleep", like a kicking up and down of one or both of my legs. I raise my leg(s) and just drop it back down, or I am just twitching my legs.

So, other than the occasional twitching of my legs before I am going to sleep, I sleep like a baby. The majority of the time, I have no problem going to sleep. The only thing is that when I am asleep, most of the time, I have the twitching or kicking episodes where I am running in my sleep.

I think I have RLS, but I am not entirely sure (mainly because I am still looking into this RLS).

Onto the MMJ, I have read that many people say the marijuana helps their RLS. (I think I've also read that wine and some alcohol also helps it.) I rarely smoke marijuana, so I really can't say for sure if doing so has alleviated my incidents.

Can someone give some insight as to what they think of my situation and what MMJ does for RLS?
