Is the bond I have with my yorkie a fiction?
Sabre is a furry toy dog who loves to come hang with me in my computer room when I'm home. He sleeps in his bed there, or curls up next to my chair.
However, my air condition unit is on the blink and the room is now very hot and he no longer comes to hang with me. He prefers to stay outdoors where it is cooler. My wife is very hurtful and says he bonded with my air condition unit, and not me. Is she correct? Should I fix the unit and get my furry friend back?

My wife and I have committed about $13,000 to our upcoming vacation by booking hotels, airline tickets etc. and about 70% of this is non-refundable. One of my wife's sisters has fallen seriously ill (20% chance of life threat) and is in hospital. She is surrounded by family members who live closer to the hospital than we do, and we only visit on weekends because of the distance we live. We are wondering if we should still go on vacation or cancel.
My wife feels that we should still go on vacation but keep in touch with what is happening, since we stand to lose so much money if we don't go. I tend to agree with her. What should we do?

I'm not a fan of apple though I just bought an iphone for my wife, who wants no other. But she's always boasting how perfect her touch screen is and how smoothly it scrolls and so on. Is there any other phone like this? I have a samsung omnia and it is touch screen, but just not the same. It does not scroll smoothly, and selects items and programs if I touch too hard when I try to scroll, but does nothing if I touch too soft. In any case most scrolling is done using a side bar, which I think is clumsy compared to iphone.
