  • How to get rid of cat odor?

Recently purchased a house at a greatly reduced price due to the extreme animal odor. All the floor coverings have been removed, downstairs is concrete floors, upstairs is plywood sub-floor. The previous owners were world-class "hoarders" or sick pigs whichever you choose to call them. Apparently the filth was about a foot deep throughout most of the house, there's a line on the walls like a high water mark.

We want to do everything we can to remove the odor and then paint and seal the floors before replacing the floor coverings. We will also remove the sheetrock to a height of 4 feet, remove any insulation, clean, paint/seal, and replace.

Any suggestions would certainly be appreciated.

  • How to get rid of cat odor.?

Recently purchased a house at a greatly reduced price because of the extreme odor. All the floor coverings have been removed. Downstairs it's concrete, upstairs is plywood sub-floor. What is the best way to neutralize the odor? We would like to do all we can to remove the smell then as the last act before replacing the floor coverings paint the floors with some kind of sealer.

This home was owned by "hoarders" or sick pigs whichever you call them, apparently the garbage/filth was about a foot deep throughout most of the house. You can see the line on the walls like a high water mark. We intend to remove the sheetrock from the walls at 4 feet high, remove any insulation, seal exposed wood with paint, re-insulate, re-install sheetrock.

Any other suggestions would certainly be appreciated.

  • Going to Death Valley next week, would like information about dispersed camping in the Park?

I have been to the park web site and know dispersed car camping is allowed along some of the back-country roads. Just wanted any suggestions/recommendations about how easy it is to find a site and what to expect. I know it is primitive camping.

Is it better to just camp in a developed campground? I don't need the amenities and would prefer the privacy of dispersed camping if that is possible in the Park.
