Martial arts speed training with poles?
I keep seeing references of people training agility and reflexes using two poles about forearm length, and either training with a partner or multiple immobile targets. Is this kind of training specific to one martial art, or is it a broad usage. What's it called? Where can I find more information about using this technique in my training?
1 AnswerMartial Arts7 years agoGoing backpacking around world, should I bring my Macbook Pro?
I'm going traveling for two years around SE Asia and Europe, and I'd like to bring my Macbook Pro with me. I originally wanted to buy a tablet, but unfortunately my budget wouldn't allow me to buy one. I'll have a 55L backpack, so already quite a bit of weight. Should I bring the laptop with me, or just survive on my iPhone?
2 AnswersPacking & Preparation8 years agoWhat are some basic Parkour moves?
I've recently begun experimenting with Parkour, and I wanted to know some of the basic moves. I want to set some clear goals for myself for the next six months. Here are the ones I know of so far, and have tried:
Precision jump
Dash vault
Reverse vault
Lazy/thief vault
Basic roll
Tic tac
Cat balance
Wall run
Cat leap
Hand spring
What would be a good direction to head in next? What are some realistic goals to set for myself?
Thanks!

2 AnswersMovies8 years agoHow to find out expiry of homemade products?
I'm considering selling all the products I make for myself out of herbs and oils, but I have no idea how to find out the expiry date of these items. The products range from shaving cream bars to herbal tinctures, all the way over to bug sprays and medicinal items. How can I deduct what the expiry date would be?
2 AnswersDo It Yourself (DIY)9 years agoI had a glass thermos from Chapters, can't find another to buy?
About a year or two ago I bought a tall glass, dual insulated travel mug. It was clear glass, a long cylinder about the length of a forearm, had either blue leaves or red designs on the bottom half, and had a silver metal lid. It also came with a small strainer for loose leaf.
Last year, it smashed on a camping trip. I went to Chapters to go find another, but they didn't have them anymore. No one seemed to know where they came from!
I'm desperate to find another because ti was my absolute favourite. Does anyone know where I can find it?
Thanks!
1 AnswerBooks & Authors9 years agoHalf the bamboo plant is dead?
Hi,
Half of my bamboo plant has died. The leaves have gone yellow and the stalks look weird. I'd like to revive it. If I cut off the dead leaves, will they regrow? How can I get it going back to it's normal state?
3 AnswersGarden & Landscape9 years agoSink & Garburator plugged, dishwasher doesn't help?
Hello,
Yesterday I ran my garburator with water on my dual kitchen sink, and the other side started to fill up rapidly. I shut down the water and garburator, and the water started to flow out of the right side of the sink, only to fill the other side evenly. I poured some CLR down to try to help it a bit, and ran the garburator again. To no avail. After a while, both drained, but repeated the same thing when I tried again.
I notified my landlord. Today, I ran the dishwasher, and after 10 minutes, saw that both sinks had filled considerably with murky water.
I was told by my landlord that if the plumber came and it was discovered that it was my fault, I'd have to pay the plumber. Only thing is, I can't AFFORD a plumber.
Are there any ways I can try to fix this problem myself? Its after hours so the plumbers won't answer for advice. I would usually check the pipes beneath the sink, but the dishwasher problem confused me.
Thanks
Maintenance & Repairs9 years agoPainting over top of bad paint?
Hello,
I'm renting a place that was built in the 70's and has a few layers of paint on it. The top most one was done badly and you can very easily scratch it off with a fingernail, and underneath you see a white. They also painted the baseboards the same color for some reason. I shall be asking my landlord for permission, but my question is this:
Is there a way that I can paint over the bad layer of paint with my own color, or will I have to remove it completely and start from scratch?
I'm not sure if the white paint underneath is a primer, or if it was the previous color.
Thanks

I'm looking for some lingerie to spice up my life a bit. I've got a nice bod that works with most things so it can be as racy and daring as possible.
Thanks! :)
2 AnswersFashion & Accessories9 years agoA question about snuggling/cuddling?
So here's the scoop. I have a boyfriend. We've been sleeping together for a year, exclusive since September. We've previously had issues with him sexting a girl who he knew from high school, and it's happened several times. I dealt with it, and he hasn't talked to her in a few weeks.
Now there's girl #2 from high school, and he keeps texting her (I've monitored his phone since I found out about the sexting, though he doesn't know that.) about how he wants to cuddle/snuggle with her around a campfire and she keeps saying "I'm so cold right now, wish you were here to keep me warm".
It's making me really nervous because I've always viewed snuggling/cuddling as a monogomous thing when in a relationship. Single? Sure, go for it, but not when you're dating someone.
I plan on pretending that I read an article about testing boundries in a relationship, and then asking him how he feels about cuddling with other people. I could put it in the context of how he'd feel if I snuggled with a guy friend of mine who he doesn't like...
Opinions, answers, and advice is all appreciated :)
5 AnswersSingles & Dating9 years agoHow can I save money on clothing, but still look great?
I live on my own, work retail, and obviously don't have a huge amount of money. I'm super envious of a few girls I know who model, and can afford to buy Aritzia, American Apparel, and all those nice clothes. They know how to put them together because they have a natural eye for that.
My questions are: How can I buy those clothes OR clothes like them, without killing my budgets? Which methods are best for learning fashion, and putting together a nice outfit?
Thanks! :)
10 AnswersFashion & Accessories9 years agoWhat can I wear to my first Rave?
It's a halloween themed rave. I have some floppy cat ears and a long cat tail (stereotypical I know, but I'm pretty broke). My boyfriend, roommate, and all their friends are experienced ravers, so I don't want to show up looking like I don't really belong.
Assistance please? :)
2 AnswersFashion & Accessories10 years agoHow to make "Magical" looking liquids?
I'm starting on some new crafts, and it involves making fantasy potions. What I wanted to do was to make the liquids very opalescent, shiny, and metallic looking while retaining their liquid consistency. Here are some examples:

In the Legend of the Seeker one, he could consume it. I'd love it if they could consume the "potion" for my die hard fan friends.
Thanks for the help!

1 AnswerDo It Yourself (DIY)10 years agoWhat was Wicca before it was "Wicca"?
I know it's a centuries old practice that stems from various groups and religions that all practiced their own forms of magic. Wicca was just popularized in the 60's and named thus for the modern world. I want to know about it BEFORE it became a religion for wannabe witches and confused teens everywhere.
What is it really? What does it involve? What practices are involved? I'd love to hear from you witches who came pre-wicca :)

10 AnswersReligion & Spirituality10 years agoI can't figure out the name of this Halo spoof I watched?
A few years ago I watched a really funny cartoon about Halo that was pretty short, and on the internet. It was about the first game, and it had pretty bad graphics. It had Darth Vader and the Storm Troopers invade the ship, there was drinking around a table, an elite randomly popping out of no where, etc. I think it might've been Halo Legends or something, but it was definitely homemade.
Help me out? :P
