  • MS Access 2007 Yes/No values?

I currently have a form which the user inputs data and creates a new record for each set of data in a table. On the form I have 2 check boxes for a Yes/No selection. When the data is submitted to the table, the values are as such:

    Yes: -1

    No: 0

Is there a way to change the submitted values to this to avoid confusion:

    Yes: 1

    No: 0

    Thanks for your help.

    Regards,

    Harry

  • Dell Inspiron 530 - 4 Beeps on startup?

When I start up my computer, there is no video, the fans rev up to max and there are 4 short beeps that repeat every few seconds.

Sometimes when I boot it up, the fans go to max, there is no video but there are no beeps, and I just have to hold the power button down to turn it off.

Other times it will get to the boot screen (where you can enter the bios settings and boot options) and it will get stuck halfway along the loading bar.

I tried removing the video card (Nvidia 8600GT) and plugging he monitor into the motherboard integrated graphics. It got to the bios screen but there were thick blue lines down the screen and it froze there.

It seems to me like a motherboard problem... do you have any suggestions/other alternatives that the problem could be?

    Thanks,

    Harry

  • Leaving BT Home Hub 2.0 on overnight?

What are the benefits of leaving it on overnight when not in use?

Does it need to be switched on in order to charge the phone?

Can the speed and lifespan be affected by switching it off?

I basically need reasons why it should be left on overnight to persuade my parents to do so.

They claim it uses a lot of electricity ( I know it doesn't)

They say it's 'dangerous'... I think they believe it will cause a fire...

Finally, they don't want me and my brother to be on all the time, even though we are not.

    Any suggestions/ways to persuade them?

    Thanks.

  • RCA output PCI sound card?

I'm looking for a sound card for my PC, which has RCA output for left and right channels.

I have a 5.1 system that connects via RCA (its a Sony HT-BE1)

I tried getting an RCA - 3.5mm jack lead, but when I use this, it only plays sound through the left channel.

I want to find a sound card that supports RCA so I get sound through all the channels.

Anyone have any suggestions for this?

  • Philips 442PFP5532D Audio Output?

I am trying to connect a 5.1 audio system (Sony HT-BE1) to my Philips TV, but can't get it to work.

There are 4 "sections" on the back: EXT-1 to EXT-4:

    EXT-1 SCART ------------------------------------------------------------ Unused

    EXT-2 SCART ------------------------------------------------------------ Unused

EXT-3 RGB + Red, White -------------------------------------------- Connected to Xbox 360

    EXT-4 Yellow, Red, White, S-Video + Headphone ---------- Unused

The back of the 5.1 system has Red and White socket, which I am using to connect it with a cable, but I can't get the audio through the 5.1 system speakers. I have also tried plugging in a Hifi system with the same connections, with no success.

Which socket on the TV (if any) should be used to connect them?

Any help and advice would be appreciated. Just ask if you need any more information.

    Thanks.

  • Adding more RAM decreased Windows Experience Index?

My original system had 2x1GB DDR2 PC-5300 (667MHz) and that scored 5.2 on Windows Experience Index.

I have just bought a matching pair (not the same brand but DDR2 5300 etc.) but after installing them (bringing the total up to 4GB) I refreshed the WEI to see that the score for memory had dropped 0.5, from 5.2 to 4.7 .

I then tried removing one of the new sticks and tried the WEI again and it still said 4.7

What could cause this and what can I do to fix it?

(I am running Vista Home Premium 32-bit on a FoxConn G33MO2 motherboard, which supports DDR2)

  • BTX Formfactor PC Case?

I'm looking for a new case for my Dell Inspiron 530. After contacting Dell, they told me that my motherboard was a BTX. I have looked at a few pictures of BTX motherboards and they don't seem to be the same format as mine.

My motherboard is a Foxconn G33MO2:

    http://xps-700.com/dell/img/12111702240064.jpg

The power supply is at the top of the case, below that is the back panel inputs and a fan, and at the bottom is the expansion slots.

Most BTX motherboards I have seen look like this:

    http://img.tomshardware.com/us/2005/12/01/out_with...

As you can see both seem totally different... In the second one, the expansion slots are at the top, RAM slots at the bottom, and the processor on the opposite side to the back panel input...

Could you please tell me which is BTX, and what the form factor of the first motherboard (Foxconn) is.

    Thanks for your help,

    Harry.

  • Edimax EW-7128G Wifi Card Questions?

For a few years, I've been using an unbranded USB adapter to access the internet (using a Linksys WAG200G Router). I play games a lot and find that I get packet loss and bad connection, even though my brother (who uses a built in card with his laptop) gets no problems with his connection.

After Looking around I found the Edimax EW-7128G for around £10. It's got some good reviews and is extremely cheap, although I have heard some people say otherwise. I have two main questions for anyone who owns or uses this card:

    1)

Is it good for gaming? (ie. does it give good & consistant connection speeds)

    2)

Is it compatible with Windows 7? (I've heard there are driver issues and I'm thinking of upgrading to Windows 7 in the near future)

    Thanks for your help.
