  • Hypothetically... Can a restriction site on a DNA sequence be less than 4 base pairs?

If there's any data you have to back up YES, then I will get another point back on my lab practical.

If it's HYPOTHETICALLY possible, I would love to know!

    Thanks.

  • Poem suitable for family right after death of loved one?

I'm in the process of opening up my own Funeral Home. For those calls we get where a person dies at home and the funeral home is called to remove the body, we leave a small stuffed teddy bear. With that teddy bear, we leave a card with our contact information on it. I would like to include a small poem on the other side, one that goes along the lines of "always being with you" or something like that.

    Any ideas?

  • Near death experience... what do I say/do?

My boyfriend almost died this weekend. The doctor's don't know what happened but the campus EMS and police found him without a pulse lying face down. He lost a lot of blood and they resuscitated him at the scene and again at the hospital.

For some strange reason, which I don't know myself, he was discharged after being stabilized only 7 hours after being admitted. He SEEMS quite similar to the man I knew before this occurred. But, he says things are very different. He is perceptive to things he never was before; is eating things he never ate; hears sounds that he never picked up on before.

What do I say to him? How do I help him through this? I care about him so much but don't know what to do. He basically died and came back to life... twice... and is trying to get right back into the swing of things without giving his body time to get the rest it desperately needs.

Please help. Thank you so much.

  • Equilibrium (Kc) Chemistry Question?

    For the equilibrium PCl5 (g) <- -> PCl3 (g) + Cl2, Kc = 4.0 at 228 degrees C. If pure PCl5 is placed into a 1.0 L container and allowed to come to equilibrium and the equilibrium concentration of PCl5 (g) is 0.27 M, what is the equilibrium concentration of PCl3?

I CANT figure this out... I don't know the concentration of Cl2 and don't know how to figure this out. I set up the equation: 4.0 = [PCl3][Cl2]/0.27 but don't know where to go from here.

  • Strange headache for several days?

For the past few days, I've had a strange headache, one like I haven't had ever before.

I feel sort of lightheaded, but not enough to say I'm fully "dizzy." I don't have a fever, and taking Tylenol or Excedrin doesn't help. I'm a college student, what could it be? I'm getting kind of nervous.

  • What will they do with the airplane?

What will they do with the US Airways airplane that landed in the Hudson River this afternoon? I'm not trying to be funny... seriously what will happen to it? Will they restore it so it can fly again? Or will it make its way to the plane cemetery, wherever that may be?

  • Algebra 2 question - solving ?

When P dollars are invested at interest rate "I", compounded monthly, for t years, the investment grows to A dollars where A = P (1 + i/12)^12t. Find the time it takes $10,000 to grow to $15,000 at 4% annually.

    I know that...

    10,000 (1 + 0.04/12) ^ 12t = 15,000.

But how do I solve from here?

I know the answer is 10.15 years, but I just don't know how to get there.

  • Intro to chemistry question?

A typical dust particle has a diameter of about 10.0 um (micrometers). If 1.0 mol (6.02x10^23) dust particles were laid end to end along the equator of the Earth, how many times would they encircle the planet? The circumference of the Earth at the equator is 40,076 km.

Any ideas? I'm trying to solve this for my Chem homework.

I converted 10.0 micrometers to meters - 1.0x10^-5 meters. I then multiplied this by Avogadro's # to get 6.02x10^18 meters. I then divided the Earth's circumference in meters (40,076,000m) by the answer above. Did I do this correctly?? The answer doesn't make sense to me. (I got 6.66x10^-12)

    Thanks for your help!

  • Algebra 2 question: Area of a rectangle?

The length and width of a rectangle have a sum of 88. What dimensions give the maximum area?

    A) length 44, width 44

    B) length 35, width 53

    C) length 43, width 45

    D) length 34, width 54

My teacher says the answer is A - how do you figure? All of these, using the rectangle area equation 2l*2w=a all give you an area of 176. Am I missing something?

  • Music in CSI Miami?

I'm not looking for any SPOKEN music, but rather the soft, slow, singing that they play at the end of emotional episodes, for example Bang, Bang, your Debt, or Death Eminent. It's not anything spoken as I know there are a bunch of sites dedicated to this. It's a humming song I'm not sure exactly how to explain this, but...

If you could help me out, that would be superb.

  • Temperature laws and getting fired?

I'm 17 years old and was just fired from my after school job because I called one of the regional managers saying that I didn't feel well due to the 105 degree heat inside the store and I wanted to go home and he should find someone else to cover the rest of my shift.

Is this legal? Fair? (even though legal and fair don't ALWAYS coincide.)

    Thanks,

    Mike

  • I'm 17 and my employer video tapes me at work. Is there a law against this?

I'm 17, going off to college next year and am working part-time at a Dry Cleaners. By far the worst job I have ever had, I'm sticking it out until I can start my lifeguarding job up again in the summer.

(The store I work at is part of a large chain of stores) and the regional manager has more video cameras installed than at the bank around the corner. Every time we "mess up", he looks back on the cameras to "yell at us." I know there are laws at school that say your parents must give permission for their child to be videotaped/interviewed, etc. Do these laws pertain to underaged employees (17), too?

    Thanks,

    Mike.

  • Original Apple Store Receipt?

Would anyone have a copy of an original Apple Store receipt that they could provide? This is not the current one printed on the strip of white paper, but the original one - 8 1/2 x 11" on the watermark paper, folded and put in an envelope?

I would very much appreciate it. Thanks and Happy Holidays!
