  • Why does my computer shut itself off randomly?

My computer will shut itself off randomly. It started about a year ago, shut down continously for a while, then quit doing it. It is now doing it again. I have an emachine that I bought about 5 years ago, maybe 4 years. I have Windows XP. I do not know much about computers at all. I am getting my BS online and if my computer continues to shutdown I am going to panic. It will go through the process of shutting, it will give me the option when I am using firefox to save and quit, it will not shut down until I click an answer, then the info that says Windows is shutting down, then the shut down sound, then it is completely shut down. I have made sure that i have it in an area where air circulates well. I have defraged the computer, I have ran my anti-virus protection & the report on that was that all components are working properly with no problems. I am at a loss and cannot afford to have somebody look at it. Any suggestions or similar experiences would be great.

  • How can I stop my cat from chewing on exposed cords?

I have this cat Oscar. He is a male that is 2 1/2 years old. He has been declawed (by the person that had him before me) and fixed. We have had him for about 4 months and all of the sudden last month he started chewing on our phone charger cords, our computer cords, any exposed cords. I cant hide them all and I cant just lock him away from them since the computer is in the living room. I assume he is not getting shocked or maybe he is and he likes it, I dunno. But either way he has cost us almost 300 in cords. I cannot get rid of him, that is not an option. I cannot hide the cords or keep him put of the room whrere the cords are, so please dont suggest that. Anybody who may know of a trick to get him to stop chewing on these things. He also chews on some other things, but those are no big deal. He ate every one of the corners off of my diaper bag, that could have been due to the smell of the milk. Any suggestions apperciated.

  • How high can your amniotic fluid get before its dangerous?

I just came from AFI and they said my fluid was at 30. I know that it is supposed to be around 24 or lower. I am almost 37 weeks pregnant and was curious how much over I have to be for them to do something like induce me or how much it can be over before it becomes a danger to baby or me.

  • HELP!! My cat has lost her mind!?

My female adult cat and her 2 14 week old kittens got out last night for about 20 min. When I rounded them back in the adult cat was growling and hissing at her two kittens. Two hours before she was still allowing them to nurse off of her. She even went after one to attack them. The kittes were shaking and are terrifed. The mamma is fine with me still but the kittens she wants to kill. I cant even put them in the same room. What caused this strange behavior, and how should I handle it?

  • HELP!!! Why cant I hear my music?

My speakers are not working. I can hear systme sounds from them. All of my volume settings are correct in my control pannel. When I try to listen to online raido, or the flies I have downloaded in my Windows Media player it tells me there is a system error. I have checked all of the possiable devices and it says they are all functioning properly. I am so frustrated. 12 hours ago everything was working fine. I have been trying to troubleshoot this error for 2 hours and keep coming up with nothing. All the files are acceptable for my computer, all devices are working properly, and I can hear computer system sounds- just not any music.
