  • Breastfeeding Mommies: Is 10 weeks postpartum too late to start exclusively pumping?

My son was born ten weeks ago. I wanted to breastfeed, but had inverted nipples. The lactation consultant at the hospital where I delivered said that my only option was to use a nipple shield. Unfortunately, my baby would not latch while I was wearing one.

At three weeks postpartum, I stopped trying to breastfeed after many days of frustration and stress and began to give him formula.

It was just brought to my attention that exclusive pumping may have been an option for me! Is it too late to start?

I am currently pumping every 2-3 hours and taking nine tablets of Frenugreek in an attempt to try to make more milk. My breasts are still expressing milk when I use my hand.

  • Why are all of these feelings of being cheated on just now coming back to me?

My husband and I have already been married for two years. We are expecting our first baby in September. We are set as far as careers, our home, our family, etc. But just recently, I started having dreams, reliving the events of me finding out that he cheated on me years ago. We moved on from it. We were doing so good and were happier than ever. But now, when I wake up, these dreams effect my whole mood and day. I don't know what to do about it.

During the first four months of our relationship, my husband was cheating on me with his ex-girlfriend. I finally caught on because his ex-girlfriend brought it to my attention months after my husband ended things. She was hoping that I would end things and that he would run back to her. I didn't. I loved my husband, I wanted to give him a second chance, and we took the necessary steps to do just that, such as counseling.

My husband jumped into a relationship with me as soon as things ended with his ex-girlfriend. We met in college and I was there as his relationship with his ex-girlfriend started to go downward because we had many classes together and became good friends. His ex-girlfriend cheated on him. Then confessed to her mistake and promised not to do it again. He agreed to stay with her and work on things. Then, she cheated on him again with the same guy. It just tore my husband up and he began talking to me about things. We were just friends until one day, we both just admitted our feelings for one another. Neither one of us wanted things to happen that way, but they did. And here we are now, years later. After my husband and I started dating, his ex-girlfriend started dating the man that she cheated on him with. Their relationship only lasted a few months.

After I found out that he cheated on me, I questioned him as to why he did it. He said that he wanted to seek revenge on her. He just didn't realize then how much it would hurt me. He wanted her to feel like he did; where you want to be with someone so bad, but someone else was ruining it. Before me, he said that he wanted his ex-girlfriend and him to be happy, but that other man ruined it. Now, once he was happy with me, he ex-girlfriend wanted to be with him and be happy, but I ruined it. Nothing justifies cheating. But that was his reasoning.

Any way, I saw more in him than a cheater. I knew him as a person and knew that that wasn't how he was at all. So, we worked on things. We rebuilt our trust through counseling and different things that our counselor recommended.

However, now through my dreams, I am reliving all of that. It's not fair to my husband that years later, I am letting this bother me. But it is also not fair to me that years later, his actions are still getting the best of me.

What do you recommend? Any advice?

Please no harsh or ignorant comments. Thank you!

  • Is this definitely a girl (ultrasound picture included)?

Hey! I am using my friend's account to post this question since I do not have Yahoo. But any way, here goes...

At 16 weeks and 6 days, I had my gender ultrasound. The tech told me that my baby was definitely a boy. She said that she was 100% positive. I then began to mentally prepare and shop for a boy. I had dreams of a little football player, a baby that looked like my husband, etc.

Well, yesterday at 18 weeks and 4 days, I had another ultrasound for confirmation. My doctor's office does this for everyone. The tech told me this time around that my baby was definitely a girl. She also said then that she was 100% positive because she saw the "lines" of the labia. I then questioned her. It was the same tech. I told her how she told me the opposite two weeks ago. I was calm about it, just inquistive. She only got defensive and rude at that point.

I don't have another ultrasound until I am full term and I am having a hard time trusting this tech, even though she's a professional, because of my past two visits. I hope that is understandable. This is our first child and we will be happy either way. We just want to know to be able to prepare. Here is a picture of yesterday's ultrasound...

    http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a516/ariannale...

What do you think? I think it looks like a girl from ones that I compared it to online. But I can't get over being told two separate things. At 18 weeks, did your boy end up being a girl or did your girl end up being a boy? Thank you in advance for your answers and advice.

  • How long does it normally take for direct deposit to kick in at a job?

At my former job, we got paid every other Friday. I worked at Target. I signed up for direct deposit on December 10th. We got paid on the 14th and I got a paper check. We will get paid again on the 28th, but I was just wondering if I would have to go there to pick my check up, or if my direct deposit would kick in by then. Thank you in advance! I got fired for a very harsh reason and I would rather not ever have to see the people that I worked with again. Long story short, I was pregnant and miscarried on December 19th. While I was in the ER, my husband called me out of work. I never called them that day. I was in so much pain, I was crying, and I was being seen by a million different medical professionals. I tried to call them the next morning (I was off on the 20th), and they didn't care what was going on with me. They just said that my husband can't call me out, I have to call myself out, and that because yesterday counted as a no call, no show, my job is terminated. I just hope that my direct deposit went through. :(

  • What do I do to be less OCD about my house?

After a few years of living with just me and my husband, we decided to expand our family. The first thing that we did was get a puppy. We are currently trying for a baby. I know that puppies and kids will make a ton of messes. I do not mind cleaning. It is the unrepairable and "uncleanable" things that get under my skin and really affect my mood. For example, the puppy chewed off a piece of the coffee table, scratched the side of my couch, etc. I am trying to shake it off and not worry about those little mistakes. However, it is really hard for me to do so. I constantly clean my house and make sure that things are as perfect as possible. I still want to maintain a clean house, but I do not want to be bothered when things aren't perfect, like the coffee table. What do I do to overcome this desire to have my home looking perfect and its best at all times? I keep trying to tell myself that every house has flaws and a lived in home with a family could never be perfect. That's isn't working though. Any other ideas or tips? Thank you! :)

  • Can my husband and I change our wedding anniversary?

Three years ago, while my husband and I were out at dinner, I got an emergency call from my brother. My parents were in a severe car accident. They were hit by a drunk driver. Unfortunately, my father died due to injury complications. My mother, by the grace of God, survived. Every year sense, I cannot enjoy my anniversary because my father's death lingers in the back of my mind. Would it be beneficial for me to change our anniversary? Is that even possible? Or the does the day not matter and the fact that it was just my anniversary all that I am going to remember? Thank you for your feedback.

  • Can anyone answer my question about Heart Worms and the Heartgard Preventative?

I have two lab puppies that were born on December 28, 2011. They will be six months old tomorrow. I just got them at the end of April. As soon as I got them, I took them to get their shots. I asked about Heartworm and Heartworm Prevention. The vet recommended HeartGard and said that I should start when they are six months old. I went to the vet yesterday to pick up the medication and they didn't have the right weight barrack for my pets. They told me that they ordered it and it will be in to them in two weeks. At that point, my dogs will be 6.5 months old. I asked if it were safe to wait two weeks longer and the vet assistant said yes. I then asked if I had to have my dogs retested for heart worms since they haven't been tested since the end of April. She said no because it is very unlikely that they got heart worms during the time between. She then explained to me that heart worms, from the time that they are born to adult hood, take six months to mature. She said that in order for my dogs to be infected with adult heart worms, they would have to have them since birth and she highly doubts that. Any way, do you believe it is safe to trust what that vet assistant said and start my dogs on the Heartgard in two weeks or should I have them tested again? Thank you in advance!

  • Is spraying my dog in the face a good way to get her from not jumping up?

My puppy jumps up, with her two front paws, on everything (couch, people, kitchen cabinets, etc.) Well, the other day, I took her to the vet as a check up since she was a rescue dog. My vet did a check up right away and then after I had her for six weeks to see her progress. Any way, I asked him how to prevent her from jumping up. He told me to spray her in the face with water. As soon as he said that, the woman that was in the room with him gave him a dirty look. I am not sure if it is a bad idea or if she just didn't like the idea. Opinions, please and thank you! :)

  • How to tell when my puppy is fully potty trained?

A month and a half ago, my husband and I got a rescue dog that was not treated well at all! We have been working with her to ensure that she is well potty trained. Her previous owners had her outside 24/7 so she was able to go to the bathroom whenever she wanted. With my husband and I, she isn't left outside like that. To train her, we got a crate. We put her in it whenever we cannot watch her. For example, if he is at work and I am in the shower. Or if we both go out. Etc. Any way, at first, I was taking her out to go to the bathroom every 1-2 hours and she was going right away! Then, I noticed that with time, she stopped going in that time frame. So, I started taking her out every 2-3 hours instead. She used to go as soon as we got outside. Now, she waits a little bit, walks around the yard, and then goes to the bathroom. I always reward her for going. But sometimes, because she takes so long, I am not sure if she goes. She will stay out in the yard for 30 minutes or so at times. I do not stay there the whole time with her. Any way, her accidents in the house are very limited now. She went from daily accidents in the house to weekly, which is a huge improvement! In order to get her fully potty trained so that she doesn't go in the house at all, do I just keep doing what I am doing? Or is there another step! Thank you in advance! :)

  • What is a good game plan for after I receive my ASN?

In December, I will graduate from a local community college with my ASN. I eventually want to get at least my Master's degree. Finances are tough and I am a single mother of two, that is why I chose a community college over a four year BSN program. After I get my ASN, what do you recommend for furthering my education. Are there any programs that go from my ASN to my MSN? Or will I have to go from my ASN to my BSN and then to my MSN? Are there accelerated programs that I can do, such as an accelerated ASN (RN) to BSN or MSN program? I know that it will be tough, but with my children and my life style, I just want to get my schooling over with as quick as possible! Thank you very much for your help! :)

  • Has a TV show ever mimicked your life? There is one mimicking mine and I'm extremely creeped out! What do I do?

As silly as this sounds, I am extremely paranoid and creeped out by a TV mimicking my life. I know that it is crazy, but it really has me thinking too much into it. I am catching up on a TV series that a bunch of my friends have watched in the past. I am five seasons behind. But as I am watching it, the events that take place in a certain couple's life match my own life with myself and my husband, almost identically. I'm not too sure if I have to get into the details of the show though, but there are high highs and very low lows of the events of the show. It is always things that you say will never happen to you, until they do. Any how, has this ever happened to anyone and if so, how did you deal with it and clear your mind? Thank you! Serious answers only, please.

  • What to do when you love two men; how to chose?

    Long story, very short:

My ex-boyfriend and I broke up three years ago. It was a very bitter break-up on both ends. He right away got involved with someone else and I tried getting him back for eleven months. Finally, I gave up. About two weeks after I gave up, I met another man. We dated and I thought less of my ex-boyfriend. I didn't stop thinking of him completely, but I thought less of him. After only dating this new man for seven months, we got married. Now, a year later, my ex-boyfriend wants me back. I still feel something for him. I do not know which man I love, which one I am in love with, which one it is just lust with. You cannot love two different men, I don't think. Please, give me every and anything that I need to help myself decide. I made a lifelong commitment to a man, but maybe it was the wrong one? Or maybe I need to re-let go of the wrong one. Please help with only NICE comments! I talked to BOTH men about this too. It's tough. :/

  • Can you make a 10 karat yellow gold ring, 14 karat yellow gold?

My great grandmother just passed away a few months ago. She was the woman who raised me with my great grandfather as my mother and grandmother were in an accident when I was younger and passed away. I want to be able to wear her wedding band on my right hand forever. However, I am very sensitive to it. From a jeweler, I found out that the ring is 10 k and that may be causing my sensitivity. Any way, it is possible to turn a 10 k yellow gold ring into a 14 k yellow gold ring without changing its appearance? Thank you.

  • Does the medication Accutane cause infertility?

I was on Accutane a few years ago. I started when I was 18, I turned 19 a month later and was on it for about eight months (approximately; it was a while ago, I forget the exact amount of time). While I was on the medication, I was informed that it does cause birth defects if one were to get pregnant. But now, I saw on the Health Watch on the news in my area that women are claiming that it also causes infertility. I am very worried about it. I tried to call the dermatology office that I went to in the past to talk to them about it, but didn't get answer. Are there any tests that prove it? Is it a rumor? Why are these women claiming and so sure that Accutane caused them to be infertile? I am sorry for panicking and asking so many questions. I am now 25 years old, engaged, and definitely planning on having kids in the future. I pray to God that it is still possible.

  • What size should I get my engagement/wedding rings? ?

Right now, both of my rings are a 6.5. If I rapidly move my hand, like flapping it around in the air, they easily get to the first knuckle but do not go past that point. By first knuckle, I mean the one that's closest to the rings. Also, another person can easily take this ring off of my finger. However, with my "mother" ring, it's a size 6.25. If I rapidly move my hand with that ring on the same finger, it doesn't reach to the first knuckle. Also, I have to take a 6.25 ring off of my finger myself. I was wondering if I should keep my rings a 6.5 or resize them to a 6.25. Thank you. Can you always make a ring bigger or smaller if things change in the future?

  • Army AIT Training: Does anyone know how the training is for a 31E / Corrections Specialist?

My husband is starting AIT at the end of this month. He was told a bunch of different things that contradict one another about his training. I was wondering if anyone could give me the truth since we are both worried sick. We were told that he could only receive letters during AIT, no computer or lap top, and that it is just like BCT and that he will be sent to Cuba for a year after AIT. Insight please. Thank you in advance!

  • How to maintain security during a Military Marriage?

My husband and I got married in July. He was sent to his Basic Training in the first week of October to Fort Jackson. My best friend was in a relationship with a solider and after Basic Training, things just went downhill for them. After five years, they got a divorce. Seeing that first hand makes me fear how things will be after my husband returns home. We were planning on moving together, to where ever he is stationed. How do I stay optimistic though? It is very hard. Any advice?

  • Interpretation of my dream...?

My husband and I have been married for three years now. We are finally at a point where we are settled into a home, have good careers, and want to start a family. We have been trying to have a baby, but I am not pregnant yet. Any way, I have had the same dream, about three times a week, for the past month now. Here it is...

My husband and I find out that we are expecting our first child. We are extremely happy! We are told at my ultra sound that it is a girl. When I go into labor and have the baby, the doctor and nurses take it, clean it up, and bring it back to us. My baby is completely dressed in pink. A few hours later, it starts to cry. We then proceed to change its diaper. It was then that we realized that our baby was never a girl, but always a boy.

*I kept saying it since it wasn't a girl and turned out to be a boy.

But any way, can anyone help me interpret the dream. I did some research on Google and found some different things that I will share with you.

    1. Some people said that dreams are signs of the future. So, maybe my first ultra sound will be wrong.

    2. Another website said that this means that my son will be gay, which I am completely accepting of, but have you heard of this before?

    3. Another website said that it is just because I have pregnancy on my mind, so it is creating stories for me.

What do you think? Thank you very much!
