Can you read the intro for my essay? (kinda urgent) Suggestions and corrections!?
Q: What attribute of your personality are you most proud of, and how has it impacted your life so far?
Looking back on my high school years, I vividly remember I was in a limbo between being outgoing and being an introvert. But despite occasionally playing a reserved and quiet character, classmates and teachers had always had a very high level of reliance in me for an opinion. Hence, I was clearly confused, and it wasn’t until the night of my graduation that I had an exact word that could most accurately define me.
“Integrity.”

The cursor kept blinking on Neil’s laptop screen. It had been more than three hours, and not a single word was typed in. He kept warming up his creativity with no result; he played some jazz CDs, read the beginning of the many books he owned, and he even splashed ice water all over his face. The frustration broke down when he heard the first sounds of human activity around the neighborhood. He checked his watch, and was not surprised to see that he had spent a full night without a minute of sleep. He let himself crumble to the clean, unused bed and took a deep breath.
Independent, prosperous, and single, Neil Green had a very comfortable life. Although his colleagues and few friends sometimes though he had to get a wife, everyone saw him as the happiest of people. Nevertheless, this misleading conception of the truth people around him created was far away from Neil’s reality. Inside his great, skilled mind he saw himself as a useless person. He opened his eyes, and got back in reality.
Resigned to see another unproductive weekend, Neil gathered some energy to get up again and turn on his multifunction coffee maker, one of the few material belongings he loved. After activating the machine, he undressed, and brushed his teeth in a poor manner. He took a shower that he felt more like punishment, than relaxation, put his Monday suit on, and had his just-brewed coffee. As every morning for the past months he had this existentialist depression, he stood there, ready for work, rethinking his life. He reviewed his wide, modern apartment, which had been almost totally financed by his first big paycheck; Most of the furniture, picked out not by him, but by his older brother, the designer; the spotless kitchen, so complete to virtually cook everything he knew, if he had any time at all; finally, he saw himself in the mirror of the small entrance hall: the tall, normal-build, and average-looking, person he was seeing was not what he pictured when he was young. He was his own disappointment. Neil rubbed his eyes in an attempt of refocusing on his vital routine, grabbed his laptop case, cellphone, keys, and got out into the outer world.
2 AnswersBooks & Authors9 years agoThe Beatles' "When I'm Sixty-Four" Poetic Devices?
What poetic/literary devices can be found in this song when seen as a poem?
When I get older losing my hair,
Many years from now
Will you still be sending me the Valentine,
Birthday greetings, bottle of wine
If I'd been out till quarter to three
Wold you lock the door
Will you still need me, will you still feed me
When I'm sixty-four.
You'll be older too,
And if you say the word I could stay with you.
I could be handy mending a fuse
When your lights have gone
You can knit a sweater by the fireside
Sunday morning go for a ride
Doing a garden, digging the weeds,
Who could ask for more
Will you still need me, will you still feed me
When I'm sixty-four.
Every summer we can rent a cottage in the Isle of Wight,
if it's not too dear
We shall scrimp and save
Grandchildren on your knee
Vera, Chuck & Dave
Send me a postcard, drop me a line
Stating point of view
Indicater precisely what you mean to say
Yours sincerely, wasting away
Give me your answer, fill in a form,
Mine for evermore,
Will you still need me, will you still feed me
When I'm sixty-four
1 AnswerPoetry9 years agoFind literary devices in W.B.Yeats poem_?
When you are old and grey and full of sleep,
And nodding by the fire, take down this book,
And slowly read, and dream of the soft look
Your eyes had once, and of their shadows deep;
How many loved your moments of glad grace,
And loved your beauty with love false or true,
But one man loved the pilgrim soul in you,
And loved the sorrows of your changing face;
And bending down beside the glowing bars,
Murmur, a little sadly, how Love fled
And paced upon the mountains overhead
And hid his face amid a crowd of stars.

Nothing is better than grandmas unbeatable apple pie. It all begins with the simplest ingredients: flour, fresh apples milk and butter. She has always kept the treasured recipe a secret; a confidential recipe, yet with a glorious finale. The final product is a sizzling, steamy hot pie. Its gloden look and apple fragance beg you to eat it. You can observe the delicious juice and the very essence coming out of your piece as glowing lava, glowing and escaping from the piece. Its steamy flavor floats into your nose giving you a glimpse of what is to come. Grandma always makes two of these delightful pies, for one will not satisfy your hunger!
