  • Greek mythology being the richest source of the myths & legends that originated from it, why aren t these Creation stories believed anymore?

    Creation Myth - Primordial gods

It all started with inexplicable forces that were present even before the beginning of time and space. They were the first primordial gods: Chaos, Gaia, Tartarus and Eros. These four deities (deathless gods and forces of creation) are often depicted as a realm or a place. They are sometimes pictured or mentioned in their personified forms.

    Chaos - The Origin

The first deity to ever exist was Chaos. Chaos was the nothing that existed before everything. It was the emptiness, the void, a state of conflict or disorder. It was the genderless form from whence everything else was born.

After Chaos, came Gaia (Earth), then Tartarus (Underworld) and finally Eros (Procreation). Gaia was the female personification of the Earth, which would later become the foundation for all the other gods and the mortals. Tartarus was the stormy space beneath the Earth, a bottomless abyss. And Eros represented the love of sexual reproduction and was the fairest of the four deathless gods.

These four primordial gods were only the beginning. Chaos gave birth to Erebus (Darkness)- the male personification of darkness and the space between Tartarus and Gaia, and Nyx (Night)- the goddess of the night. Erebus and Nyx procreated to give birth to Aether (Brightness)- the bright upper atmosphere of the gods, and Hemera (Day)- the goddess of the day.

Then Gaia, through parthenogenesis, gave birth to Uranus (Heaven), The Ourea (Mountains) and Pontus (Sea) to complement and protect her. Uranus and Pontus were male gods, with whom Gaia would eventually mate to give birth to a whole new number of different beings and personifications.

The order in which the Primordial Gods were born is debatable. Some sources state that from the initial state of disorder that was Chaos, eventually Love (Eros) appeared. Chaos, being poetically female in this version, with Love, gives birth to Gaia and the following primordial deities.

These were the primordial forces before the generations. You can say they were always there, but that at some point materialized, started a chain of events that led to creation and gave form to the first generations of gods. Uranus, as the Heaven and protector of Gaia, was the ruler of the Cosmos at this point.

  • Why is Paul through the Bible, condoning slavery in the Bible?

Paul's violation of the Mosaic Code on slavery:

While in prison, Paul met a runaway slave, Onesimus, the property of a Christian -- presumably Pheliemon. He sent the slave back to his owner. This action is forbidden in Deuteronomy 23:15-16:

"Thou shalt not deliver unto his master the servant which is escaped from his master unto thee."

"He shall dwell with thee, even among you, in that place which he shall choose in one of thy gates, where it liketh him best: thou shalt not oppress him."

Rather than give the slave sanctuary, Paul returned him to his owner. Paul seems to hint that he would like Pheliemon to give Onesimus his freedom, but does not actually request it.

See the Letter to Philemon in the Christian Scriptures.

  • When God/Jesus do not condemn unrighteous acts such as slavery & rape, reason dictates they MUST condone these acts as good?

Habakkuk 1:13 - Your eyes are too pure to look on evil; you cannot tolerate wrongdoing. Why then do you tolerate the treacherous? Why are you silent while the wicked swallow up those more righteous than themselves?

Jesus on slavery it is still approved of in the New Testament:

Slaves, obey your earthly masters with deep respect and fear. Serve them sincerely as you would serve Christ. (Ephesians 6:5 NLT)

Christians who are slaves should give their masters full respect so that the name of God and his teaching will not be shamed. If your master is a Christian, that is no excuse for being disrespectful. You should work all the harder because you are helping another believer by your efforts. Teach these truths, Timothy, and encourage everyone to obey them. (1 Timothy 6:1-2 NLT)

The servant will be severely punished, for though he knew his duty, he refused to do it. "But people who are not aware that they are doing wrong will be punished only lightly. Much is required from those to whom much is given, and much more is required from those to whom much more is given." (Luke 12:47-48 NLT)

What is the best way to make vast amounts of money for religious believers, without actually providing a service or product?

As I understand it, with Christian Americans, especially from the Southern United States, they are both particularly religious & therefore extremely gullible.

Would I just take Christianity and make up even more false information are build more icons into this religion?

Just like they have crosses, holy water, bibles and other books for sale - could I sell holy soaps, blessed religious stones, consecrated book ends, etc.

What would I charge for these types stuff - 300% to 3000% mark up, even though this is just ordinary stuff, that could be bought at the $ store?

Any help and/or ideas would be really much appreciated!!

  • If everything has a cause, then God must have a cause to his existence, then who does God pray to?

The Kalām Cosmological Argument formulates the argument in the following manner:

    - Everything that begins to exist has a cause of its existence.

    - God began to exist.

    - Therefore, God has a cause to his existence.

  • Is the 'intelligent cause' within the (ID) political movement, Allah through his prophet Mohammad?

The ID political movement has not defined the 'intelligent cause', then the plausible conclusion is that if both sides are to have equal time in the classroom, along with the use of one's personal opinions, into which to base one's conclusions.

Then by the numbers, as of 2009, 1.6 billion (that’s over 23%) of the world population are Muslims. Almost 1 in 4 people on the planet have an opinion of what the 'intelligent cause’ might be.

If disbelief is a defense, as it is in the (ID) political movement's position - The world is just to complex, there is no way that one can believe it come by chance.

Well then, if almost a quarter of the people on the planet believe that the 'intelligent cause' is Allah, through his prophet Mohammad, then it must be factually true, because (ID) political movement has not investigated and provided any agreed upon facts as evidence to the contrary.
