  • What is the lowest I should bid for a HUD home?

We are looking at a HUD home in our city that will need about $20,000 worth of work. (while it was empty someone stole the HVAC system and hot water heater from the house) It is listed as uninsured since it needs a lot to be done to make it live-able and right now is during the 9 day window to bid. In our area, no home owner occupants are bidding on HUD homes. So what do you think is the lowest off I should bid? We were told, 85% of the asking price will be accepted, but lower bids are sometimes accepted.

  • What should I do for sporadic pain after a root canal?

I recently had a root canal on an upper molar. It was started as an emergancy root canal over a month ago and an endodontist filled it this morning with a permanent filling (five hours ago). She said I might be sore for a few days, but as the numbness wore off (over three hours ago), I did not feel any pain or soreness. Now though I feel sporadic sharp pain that shoots through the tooth. On a scale of 1-10, it would fall about an 8, but it last only for 5-10 seconds and then dies down. I don't like to take pain killers, but would they help this sort of pain? This is the second root canal I have had done and the only pain associated with the first one was when the temp filling did not seal the hole to the root completely and I had a recurrent infection.

  • Why does my baby get sick after going outside?

My baby is 7.5 months old now. She was born in June, so we didn't spend much time with her outside for the first few months. We live in ohio. When we finally took her outside for more than 10 minutes she got very sick that night. It wasn't until we took her outside a few times that we noticed the trend. It has happened each time we have spent time outside. The night after we take her outside, she cries constantly (which is very odd for her) and refuses to lay down. She won't sleep and then refuses to nurse and sometimes even take a bottle. She won't eat solids either. The last time this happened it took four days before she got better. That time she also cried for three hours straight, slept for thirty minutes, and then cried for another three hours. Has anyone had this experience before? Could she have a problem with something outside? This happens whether it is day or night, sunny or cloudy, cool or warm. It is still winter here but I am afraid that she won't be able to be outside once it is spring and summer without getting sick.

  • what should i do for a broken tooth?

I had a root canal on a tooth that got decay under a filling (lower molar tooth). They have filled the root with the permanent filling and placed a temp filling on the top of the root filing. While eating supper tonight about 2/3 of the inside (tongue side) part of the remaining tooth broke off. The temp filing down to the gum line is exposed and it is sharp along my tongue. I am not in pain as I don't feel anything with that tooth anyways. I can't see my dentist for over a week since it is the holidays then the weekend. Are there any precautions i can take to keep this from getting bad? I would hate to have to have this tooth pulled after spending so much time (and money) getting the root canal done.

  • How to get a 2 month old baby to sleep through the night?

My baby will be two months old in a couple of days. Since she was born she has always slept 4-5 hours at a time at night- once and then only will wake up every hour after wards crying. I am breastfeeding her, so I get up with her and now am starting to show signs of Extreme fatigue. I need to return to work as my six weeks are already up and we need the income, but I don't always feel too safe driving at this point. I try to nap with her during the day, but she doesn't nap more than 30 minutes at a time. I guess I am looking for any tips, book suggestions to read, or anything to get her to sleep longer or go back to sleep for 4-5 hours instead of 1 hour. Please help- I am sssssooooo sleep deprived.

  • What causes diarrhea in cats?

Our youngest cat has been sick over a year now.She has had diarrhea and lost one pound (7.6lbs-6.6lbs). She is only two years old and is otherwise very active, eats alot and is very friendly and playful. We have tried anti-parasit drugs, a penicillin based antibiotic, two additional specific antibiotics, and probitiocs. Nothing seems to help. Now after the last batch of antibiotics she is puking water occasionally, lost her appitite, and shedding more than normal. I almost feel like she is getting worse. Her blood tests were all normal also, so the vet is unsure the cause either. Does anyone know any thing we might try or any additional underlying causes of diarrhea in cats?

  • Can a breastfeeing baby have an allergy to penicillin prescribed to the mother?

I am taking augmentum for a breast infection. I have no allergy to penicillin drugs and neither does the father, but the grandfather is extremely allergic to penicillin. After the drugs finally started working to take care of the infection and high temp I was running, our otherwise very docile/calm baby has begun to be very fussy, cry and won't sleep. I was told the antibiotic would make her sleepy, but it is the exact opposite. she is cranky and inconsolable. Could she be reacting to the little amount of antibiotic passed to her through the breast milk?

  • How do you ease the pain of a labia tear after child birth?

Exactly one week ago I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. She is my first baby and towards the end of pushing her heart rate was dropping slightly, so I kind-of pushed her our quickly (one push and she was completely out). I ended up with a labia tear horizontal to the labia on the right side. I decided to decline stiches as it would be difficult to repair fully to normal and could tear again when I have a second child. It is a week later and I am still in pain though-mainly when I pee or move. I use a water bottle while peeing but it does not help. Does anyone havde any suggestions to easing the pain of a labia tear?
