Tattoo artist at Powerline Tattoo in Rhode Island

  • Bone to pick with "tattooist"?

Ok. What is the deal with you guys? Someone comes on here to ask for help with their machines, needles or whatever and people just rag on them. What the hell? Help these people out! I understand the whole sterilization issue but when I worked in a shop and was taught the proper technique's, I wasn't doing anything different before when I was doing it out of my house. It's just common sense. I tattooed out of my house for years before getting an apprenticeship which was ridiculously hard to obtain in the first place. Every tattoo shop owner thinks they are guarding some secret or something sacred. I would rather give as much information to those people needing it than tell them to get an apprenticeship. An apprenticeship is not that easy to get. I agree with trying as hard as you can to get one but what are you supposed to do in the meantime? Not tattoo? If that was the case I wouldn't of have tattooed for years. It can be done at home folks. It's not really that big of a deal. I'm sure that every tattoo artist has screwed up on people in the beginning because of LACK OF KNOWLEDGE. Well, the shops are not going to give them that knowledge easily or quickly so help them out as much as you can because they need it. Seriously.

  • Good way to clean inside an exhaust pipe?

I'm tired of throwing away old scooter mufflers because they are clogged. I have my own method of cleaning the inside but it only works so well. I usually spray brake cleaner into the inlet and outlet of the pipe and let it sit for a little while. Then I take a blow torch and heat the hell out of it until flames start comming out the ends. Don't worry, I do it in a controlled area. Like I said, it works great but I was wondering if there is another way to clean those real dirty ones. Any suggestions?

  • SYM scooters?

I work as a scooter mechanic for a local scooter rental place. I was informed recently that they would possibly be purchasing some of the vehicles from SYM lineup. I have never heard of this company before and just wanted to hear some feedback from SYM owners.

  • Biggest Common Snapping Turtle?

My friend and I have been catching turtles for over 15 years. Most of them have been Common Snapping Turtles in excess of hundreds. Last year in Barrington RI, we caught this one. We have caught big ones before but none this big. It was the first Snapping turtle that actually frightened me. I'm 6'3 and wear size 11 shoe, check out the size of it's front foot in comparison to mine. So, anyone else have any cool pictures of monster Snappers? No fib tales either, " It was the size of a car door". I know that is b.s. The world record for A common is somewhere around I believe 75 pounds with a carapace of 20-22 inches. This one is around 50lbs if not a little more (it look both of us to wrestle it out of the water......thats a first).

    Check out the picture.

  • A question for Herpatologist about a foreign turtle species.?

I am highly interested in aquatic turtles here in the Northeast (Rhode Island) for over 15 years. I am highly knowledgeable in the local turtle species. However last summer I seem to stumble accross a full grown male Red Eared Slider at a local pond. I know these are not a native species. I figured someone who had it as a pet let it go. It seemed to be healthy and alert to my presence as is fled into the water, but I caught and released it not really knowing what else to do with it. Last week (Mid March) I was walking around the same pond looking for turtles and what do you know, I stumbled accross the same Red Eared slider who had survived the winter. I have ben looking in the same pond for over 10 years and have never seen this turtle until last summer so I am almost positive it is the same. I again let him go. My final question is this, is this non native turtle going to have a isolated impact on the Eastern Painted Turtles in this pond such as a hybrid breed?

  • Fastest 50cc scooter with minimal modifications?

I know these scooters are capible of 60-80mph with heavy modifications such as a bore kit, aftermarket carb, hi flow exhaust, etc. My question is which is the fastest in mostly stock form. NOT including cdi modification, variatior modification, carb rejetting and a STOCK EXHAUST. I have a 2004 Kymco ZX50 with a cdi mod, aftermarket variator kit and stock exhaust that I have gotten to 52mph on flat and almost 60 going downhill.

  • What other ways are there to derestrict a 4 stroke scooter?

I've delt with two stroke scooters for the past 10 years. I've recently been comming in contact with newer 4 stroke scooters. I must say that I'm pretty dissapointed with the performance. I have two 4 stroke scooters that wont go over 35, and slow down to around 20 going up hills. Horrible. I checked the regular restrictions (boss drive, cdi, exhaust, carb jet and carb throttle restriction) and found none. Is this all power these have? My girlfriends Honda Spree kills these things.
