The movie showed love in all kinds of ways. The main character of the movie Rajunder loved everyone. He loved his father, his mother, his brother and everyone around him. You could tell who he loved by just looking at his facial expression and how he interacted with people. For example the way he interacted with his girlfriend showed romance and some physical movement. The way he talked with his brother showed love. The way he interacted with his cousin’s husband showed anger and bliss at the same time. Overall the main character showed love to everyone.

One of the key problems that were stated in the movie was the main character Rajunder’s religion. Rajunder was a Sikh and had to wear a turban on his head. He was not allowed to take the turban off no matter what. He had to wear it everywhere he goes and that would sometimes drive him nuts. When he went to school he would get bullied by his classmates and everyone around him. When he was outside people would demoralize him for who he is. Rajunder got sick of people treating him badly so he decided to cut his hair. His father got really mad and sad. He thought that his son was forgetting who he is. Overall being Sikh for Rajunder was really hard. He was in a different country so it was hard for him.

The movie breakaway was mostly about different culture. Rajunder friends were Indian’s in the movie. The way they talked to each other sometimes was really awkward. Their English accent sounded really brown also what they ate showed how spice the food was. For Rajunder’s cousin marriage everyone who was invited wore some special traditional dress. The marriage was done in a temple and the groom rode on an elephant. The groom wore some special turban with flowers. I think that the marriage was done in a traditional way. This scene showed me how different their culture is.

Hockey was the only thing that Rajunder cared about. Rajunder loved hockey and wanted to be a hockey player when he grew up. His father didn’t want him to be a hockey player. He thought it was a white sport and disproved the idea.
