Best exercise to do for a sprained ankle?
Running has been incredibly effective for my chronic pain. However I have been told I am not allowed to run for another 6 weeks due to a bad ankle sprain!!!! I enjoy swimming, are there any other cardio exercises people could reccommend?

13 AnswersPolls & Surveys6 years agoAm I right to consult an NHS ENT specialist?
For the past 2 years I've had chronic middle ear infections - I haven't had as many in the past year but have been left with pretty much permanent glue ear which can get particularly irritating and painful. For the past year and a half I have had very painful and irritating outer ear infections which have been relentless. The past week I have had excruciating ear ache in my left ear, which has left me in bed and not able to carry on with everyday life, and had to cancel a weeks conference. Yesterday I saw a duty GP at my hometown local practice and not my normal ENT specialist GP as she was busy. He said he didn't see an infection but instead fluid trapped behind the ear. He was extremely rude and just told me to blow my nose and take paracetamol. Today I've woken up with excruciating earache and have been crying all day with it (and I'm good with pain as I've had chronic stomach pain problems and general chronic illnesses!). I went to my local GP to talk to the receptionists about seeing my usual doctor and they said that they would try to squeeze me onto the ENT clinic tomorrow to see her - but I'd have to get a referal through the duty GP (surprise surprise..) Despite being referred in the past and all my ear history the duty GP said it was completely inappropriate to be referred. I understood that I may not have an infection but I needed some advice from an expert who understands all my chronic ear problems. The only other option which I was advised to do by the secretaries was to go to A&E! I managed to get an appointment due to a cancellation tomorrow. I'm really happy with the result but really upset at the duty GP. I have never been talked down to like this (he even criticised me for crying in agony..) I've been left feeling a bit traumatised by the incident and feel guilty about the appointment now... So I would appreciate any advice on this incident.
