I m trying to trade two pokemon between the Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver games, and one of the devices is a 3DS and the other is a DSlite. Whenever I go into the Union Rooms, they don t register each other. Are the two not compatible with each other?

I need a comedic monologue ASAP. I'm busy searching all over the internet and have found nothing I like.
