  • Dog with Liver Failure?

My nearly 17 year old Chihuahua, Cowboy, was diagnosed with liver failure at the beginning of November. He wasn't feeling well, so I took him to the emergency vet one Sunday. Bloodwork confirmed his issue was his liver.

They gave him Denamarin. I have read really good things about it.

Neither my regular vet or the emergency have mentioned retesting him, but I really think we should. I want to know if the supplement is helping.

My question is three fold. First, if anyone has used this, what was your experience?

Second, if you used something else, what did you use and how effective was it?

Third, did your vet retest? If so, how long after starting the supplement did you test?

I was planning on just taking him tomorrow when I take my Pom in for her annual, and asking them then, but I wanted to see if you guys had any thoughts.

    Thanks!

  • Cat Dental Health...?

Recently, my 1.5 year old cat Sullivan, start having some serious oral/dental issues.

I noticed something was wrong with him when he would tilt his head funny when he was eating. Looking back, I should have known sooner as he has been very aloof these past few months.

Anyway, we have tried antibiotics and pain meds. They offered on temporary relief. The problems are back. His little gum bleed. It's awful.

I have read a lot about his condition (stomatitus), and my vet also suggested a full extraction.

Is there anyone out there that has dealt with this? Did you do the extraction? Was it worth it? Any regrets?

  • How many of y'all's pets have a Facebook page or Twitter account?

I recently added my Chihuahuas a page. They are seniors and one is a puppy mill survivor.

I know we follow several dogs on Facebook, and I wanted to see how many of you guys have social media pages for your pets.

If you would, please like their Facebook page. It is called Dexter, Cowboy, and Company!

If your pet has their own facebook page, comment with the name of the page!

  • Chihuahua with Cataracts?

I have a 12 year old long haired Chihuahua. During his physical a week or so ago, I asked the vet to examine his eyes because they looked foggy. He confirmed my suspicion that he had cataracts. They don't seem to affect his vision at this point. My vet says the meds that are currently on the market seem ineffective and that the surgery may be too risky for him. He has an appointment with a doggie optometrist, but I wanted to hear from someone who has been in a similar situation. What did you do? Was it effective?

  • Corporate Tax Question?

Ok, if a company is opening a new mall, and they give a popular store $10 million to be a part of the mall for the next 20 years, how would the popular store treat this money?

I have looked everywhere and I can't seem to find anything. Even a step in the right direction would be appreciated. Please include links with specific code and courts cases, if applicable.

    THANKS!

  • Cats Breeding Rights?

I was recently looking at ragdoll and persian kittens, and I noticed on a few adds the breeders listed two prices. One was for the cat as a pet, while the other was for the cat with breeding rights. I was just wondering how that works exactly. I have never bought a pedigreed cat. I have bought pure breed dogs, and I have never heard of this for dogs. I always thought if you bought the animal, you could breed it if you wished. I would like to know how common this is? How do they insure that you don't breed them if you buy them as a pet? Do they spay or neuter them before you get them? If not, do they have rights to any kittens the cat I purchased may have? I do not intend to breed the cat. I am just curious as I have never heard of this. Any info would be helpful. Thanks!

  • I need suggestions for name brand eggs.?

Ok. So I have a project on Omega 3 fatty acids. We are supposed to go the store and check the nutritional facts on 3 different brands of eggs. I really don't have time to drive all the way into town today. I was hoping someone could just give me a few suggestions of brand name eggs. All I need is the name, I will google the nutritional facts on them. So far, I have Egglands Best. Any help would be much appreciated.

  • Question on Child Support?

I have a question about child support. My dad agreed to pay for all my college tuition in full, but he recently changed his mind. Well I am 19 now, and he no longer has to pay child support. Well, for most of my life he has only paid my mom $112 dollars, but I know that he makes more than that. My stepmom is a royal *****, and she did the bookkeeping at the company he is vice president at, and I think she fudged the books. My question is if they can get their federal income tax papers and show that he made more than what he did, is it possible to take him back to court for what he should have paid. If he should have paid her even as little as 200, when you do the math for 14 years, it comes to 16000. Is it possible to have that fixed?
