  • Is it true that Toyota Camrys have the cheap electronic processor transmissions?

My brand new Camrys transmission does not shift right in city traffic. It clunks in and out, and it hesitates as I approach stop lights, and during pull outs. It seems like it does not know when to shift up or down. I have been told it is because the shifts are initiated by a new, and cheaper processor chip which controls the shifting pattern, and that the processors often can not tell for sure when the best time to shift should be...so it hesitates often resulting in what feels like a stall or momentary hesitation in shifting. It happens a lot, and I have heard many other complaints on this issue. Its not bad enough the Camry could become a runaway...now the transmissions don't shift right either. My life's savings went to the new car. I feel like Toyota is laughing at me. I was really taken in by Toyota quality. Do you think Toyota should be looking in to this transmission issue as well as the brakes, steering, rust, and drive shafts falling off? I feel the erratic transmission shifting is dangerous in city driving.

  • Minivan owners..How many of you chose NOT to buy a Toyota Sienna because of its exterior looks and styling?

I have a need for a minivan and would prefer to buy a Toyota because of the better quality involved in those vehicles. But I simply can not seem to get past the line-less drooping style of the Seinna. I have looked at, and driven them many times. I love everything about them EXCEPT the drooping roof, the drooping hood, the warped looking sides, the bumblebee headlamps, and the overall bubbly non symmetric look of the outer body. I have tried hard to make myself like the looks of the Sienna, --but every time I stand back and really look at it from differing angles, I am left aghast at its sheer ugliness! Do others out there feel this way? Have you chosen NOT to buy this vehicle simply because it is not attractive? And do they plan to change this oval blob on wheels for 2010 into a normal design? If not, perhaps they should rename the Toyota Sienna to something more appropriate..like..maybe...The 2010 Toyota Dewfuff! I hope they change it! I want a brand new Toyota Sienna---but not one that looks like a refrigerator on wheels. Are they reaaly that ugly or is it just me? Thanks!

  • Old Slate roof is shot. Does it cost more to have slate roofs removed?

I have a home who's heavy slate roof is completely shot, and breaking off and needs to be replaced with a new roof very soon. I have heard that the labor involved with the removal of an old slate roof is extremely costly. Is this true?? I would be replacing it with a standard shingle roof, but am now not sure if the costs of removing the antiquated slate roof will find me in financial trouble. Can any one give me insights on the costs for the removal of an old slate roof? The roof has several peaks and is an averaged sized 3 bedroom family house if that helps. So....will I have to pay MORE to replace my roof because it is an old slate roof? And about how much more should I expect to have to pay? Thank you...Thank you!!!

  • Toyota..Why are they replacing the lush Camry Solara with the Venza, a station wagon?

My 1999 Toyota Camry Solara is the hottest car I ever owned (tho I don't like the weaker newer models with the bumble bee eyes and wilted soppy rear.) Why do all the Toyotas today look like lineless bubbles with bazarr shapes? Most of them are UGLY. Will Toyota ever learn how to design a good looking car? Their Sienna mini van looks like a refrigerator on wheels with bumble bee eyes and a humpty dumpty face!

  • Do you own a 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan,or a Chrysler T&C? Please give me your reviews of these vehicles!?

I have heard good things about both of these minivans, and very bad things as well. I prefer these new van styles over other car makers, but I am concerned about their reliability reputations. Many people swear they are not reliable, and cheaply made with poor milage. If you own a 2008 or even an earlier model, could you please tell me about your honest experience with it? Please include how long you have owned the van. Thanks so much!

  • How much should I expect to pay for a premium paint job on my car?

I have a black 1999 Toyota Camry Solara Cp. which I would like to have painted with original quality paint. The paint job is original but it is all nicked from stones and from parking under trees I guess from the sap. It is otherwise in perfect condition with only 31000 miles on it. What will a nice high end paint job cost? And can I expect it to look as good as the original jet black paint that was on it when new? Thanks for responding...your a big help!

  • Why was Bush so nasty and defensive today at today's press conference?

Today George Bush seemed nasty and defensive as reporters asked him questions. He snapped them out, cut them off, told them they shouldn't ask more than 2 questions. Why do the American people stand for such outlandish behavior from their President? This is America! Does Bush think that just because the economy is in a recession that we Americans do not have the right to ask questions pertaining to this issue, and other issues? What has democracy come to? It is frightening!

  • Is President Bush's Southern Twang PHONY?

George Bush's Father seems to have some, but very little southern twang in his speach. Barbara Bush seems to have no accent at all. And I hear no discernable southern twang in Bush's brother who is Govenor of Florida. The members of his family seem to down play what accent they do have. How is it then, that George Bush always drawls all his words out into an unsophisticated southern Texas drawl? He could not have learned this sloppy drawl in his upbringing, as the others in his immediate household to not appear to have it nearly as heavily. Do you think his twang is an act of exageration on his part to make himself sound interesting, and to divert the public from the real issues at hand? Many Americans seem facinated by accents--do you think Bush knows this, and is he playing up on it?

  • Was Joan Crawford a bi-sexual nymphomaniac lesbian?

I heard rumors that Joan Crawford was a bisexual, a nymph, and also part lesbian. I think she was a great actress and star. But it was rumored that she made a pass at Bette Davis, who refused it, thus making enemys for life between the two movie damsils! Also, do you think that Joan Crawford got a bum rap from the press and the movies..the wire hanger beating of her adopted children..and all that, Was she a which? Or was she just plain brilliant? Joan Crawford also dis-inherited her eldest adopted daughter, leaving her nothing in the Will. --As Joan put, "For reasons that are well known to her." "WHAT WERE THOSE REASONS? Opinions on any or all of these issues. And Thanks....

  • Ladies, if 2 men in bed together, invited you to join them...?

Scenario, and Question for women: Two very handsome, well built savagely hot men are in bed naked with each other before your eyes. They are kissing and having full sexual relations with each other----they both look at you, and respectfully ask you to join them...Would you consider it? There are many men who have full sexual relations with other men, but will often welcome a woman into the sexual act if she is interested...Most men will not be able to answer this question because they are homophobic and would label it as gay. Many men appear to love the idea of being in between 2 lesbians....Why not the other way around??

  • Do you use unvented portable Kerosene heaters?

I have used Toyostove Kerosene heater for many years to supply extra heat in the winter. I simply wouldn't ever want to be without it because of the wonderful heat it gives. It cuts my house heat in half each year. I was wondering how prevalent they are and how many other people use them as a means of supplementary heat, or emergency heat if the power goes out. Do you own and use one? Do you like it? does it save on your heating bills as it does on mine? Just wondering.

  • Dodge and Chrysler...the WORST vehicles??

I've been wanting to buy a new Dodge Grand Caravan, but according to consumer reports, and all online personal consumer reviews I have read, they are truly shoddy made vehicles. Horror stories of bad transmissions, bad breaks, bad doors and windows, bad electrical systems, on and on and on...I have read reviews on all vehicles, but none are worse than Chrysler and Dodge. Why do you think that Chrysler complaints are 10 times more prevalent, than all other vehicles? Are they really garbage?? Even when I talk to co-workers--they all say NO!!! Don't buy Chrysler or Dodge unless you want to be in the garage fixing them all the time! Consumer reports pictographs for quality show Chrysler/Dodge to be riddled with black failure marks for almost every model--while Toyota and Honda recieve almost all white passing marks! I have seen this for myself. Question: Why are Chrysler and Dodge products synonomous with poor quality, in the general publics eye?--and is it wise to ignore these warnings?
