  • How much should I expect to pay for a gas fire installation?

I have recently had a decorative gas fire surround fitted and have the gas insert to go into it. However, my builder advised me that he could not fit the gas fitting as he is not a gas safe engineer.

Could someone please advise what kind of price I should be paying to have this fitted, assuming that I would need a flue box and liner. There is a gas pipe running to the location already.

    Thanks

  • Why won't my new computer 'find' my camera?

I own a canon digital rebel which until recently i used with my laptop running Windows XP, without any problems. However, I recently purchased a new desktop running Windows 7. I had a few teething problems with trying to get a driver installed, but managed to get past this with the help of a site similar to this. Unfortunately, even though the drivers are now installed, when I turn my camera on and try and download, or even browse, images my pc gives me the message "Camera Not Found". Can anyone please shed some light on why this is... Thanks.

  • How can I view my photo's..?

I have recently bought a new computer with Windows 7 and have somehow managed to block the view of my photo's in the folders (I need to open each file to view the photo's, as in the folder view it is just a generic 'scenic' picture ). Can someone please advise as to how I can get back a thumbnail view of each photo when I open a folder.

    Thanks.

In a couple of bars/restaurants in Tallinn, Estonia, I had a thick soup which was a reddish colour, I think had some kind of sausage in it and was usually served with a big dollop of sour cream in the middle. Can somebody tell me what it was called.

  • What is a good kids program for my 1 year old?

I am looking for a series of kids television for my one year old son, but do not want to subject him to unintelligible rubbish like the Teletubbies.

I have heard Thomas the Tank Engine, or In The Night Garden are decent for his age group. Does anyone have opinion on these or suggestions on any others.

As I said in the question, he has just turned 1 year old.

  • Why can't i get freeview...?

I recently bought a new tv, with built in freeview. However, as I understand it, once I turn my satellite off, I should have analogue tv with freeview channels. I do not get any of this.

I have tried to tune in my tv countless times. Would i be correct in thinking my roof mounted aerial is broken, and if so that I will not be able to receive digital reception when my region goes digital...

  • Funding for Mature Students?

Can anyone advise where I can get some funding as a mature student. Part of the problem seems to be that instead of going to university, I have chosen instead to do the course with a financial services training company. All the info I have seen so far only seems to apply to Uni students.

  • What is the best television to buy?

I am in the market for a new TV which must meet the following specifications:

    42" screen

    1080p

    LCD

    Digital Freeview

    HD Ready

    Budget: up to 800 GBP

I would appreciate some advice on what I can get for my money, good brand, good prices all that kind of thing. I am not interested in Phillips after having some bad experience with them. I would favour LG, but am prepared to look at anything suitable.

Also if anyone has an opinion as to to the Plasma / LCD argument I would appreciate that also. My choices are not cast in stone and if I can be swayed towards a Plasma rather than an LCD, then that would also broaden my market.

    Thanks
