I'm trying to find out who was the opening act for Cyndi Lauper's True Colors Tour. (And if different, at West Palm Beach on Dec 27th, 1986).

I can find info on the tour and on Cyndi, but not the opening act.

I found this great recipe for making crusty bread adapted from the "Bread in 5-minutes a day" recipe. It calls for putting a pan with water in the bottom of the oven to release steam while the bread is baking.

Does anyone know what the purpose of the steam is, and what it does to the bread?

This question is directed towards Conservative Americans. If you had your [political or otherwise] wishes come true, and had no political opposition, what would the U.S. look like? What would you do? What would you change, eliminate, mandate, etc?

I can guess the big ones: Abortion would be outlawed. The borders would be 100% shut to illegal immigrants. But what others?

I'm doing a little research for a paper. This is a serious question, not just argument-baiting, or an attempt to make anyone look bad or stupid. I would prefer straight answers, not just sarcasm or one-liners to make the other side look like a failure. Non-cons, please be mindful of what I'm trying to do, and show some regard for the purpose of my question.

I'm looking to understand, not to mock or put down. What is it that made you choose to associate yourself or identify yourself with this particular ideology? I'm looking for answers of the type "I believe..." or "I think..."

I have a window well that doubles as a fire escape for my son's bedroom in the basement. It is about 4 1/2 feet deep, and quite wide. Currently, there is only dirt and debris there. I would like to cover the ground with vegetation, make it a little garden in the shade, if you will.

I'm looking for a low-foliage plant (so that he can still open the window and escape if required) that does not require much light, but will tolerate a bit of direct sunlight for a couple hours (tops) during summer.

Can you recommend a plant that would be suitable for that location? Thank you!
