Conservatives: what would "your" country look like?

This question is directed towards Conservative Americans. If you had your [political or otherwise] wishes come true, and had no political opposition, what would the U.S. look like? What would you do? What would you change, eliminate, mandate, etc?

I can guess the big ones: Abortion would be outlawed. The borders would be 100% shut to illegal immigrants. But what others?

I'm doing a little research for a paper. This is a serious question, not just argument-baiting, or an attempt to make anyone look bad or stupid. I would prefer straight answers, not just sarcasm or one-liners to make the other side look like a failure. Non-cons, please be mindful of what I'm trying to do, and show some regard for the purpose of my question.

Thank you all in advance.

I would like to see the government get back to working for US (the taxpayers). For the government to get back to it's Constitutional duties, and stop growing beyond what they were supposed to be.

I would love for the government to get their hands out of my pockets. Some taxes of course are needed, but not at the level or the way we are being taxed.

Once the government gets out of the way, this country will once again prosper like no other country has.

One example, since the federal government took over Education from the localities around the country, our test scores started going down to point we are at today. get the government out of education, and the scores and total education will go back up, once we get all of the indoctrinated teachers out of there...will take a while.

With the government back to it's Constitutional duties, our freedoms will expand dramatically.

    Okay

We would eliminate federal government, except for their Constitutional place of protecting borders and controlling trade.

The rights would go to the states, even for social issues such as abortion.

Taxes would obviously be cut, because the only spending is for trade and military.

I would make the military smaller, as in bring them out of unnecessary countries. We only need to be in countries where there is a direct threat.

All ILLEGAL immigrant would be shipped back to their own countries, they can come in the legal way.

States would have free trade, especially in the way of health insurance, so there is more competition.

Much like this one. A wide variety of people with different views from different walks of life.

One major difference is that all major power would reside with the states. The Federal Government would be responsible only for military protection - among other small duties and responsibilities best left to a central governing body.

If New York wants to tax the income of the rich to provide "free" health care for all - great. All of the fiscal liberals can move there.

If Texas wants to eliminate illegal citizens, they can build a 30 ft wall around the entire state.

The benefit of power residing with the states is that people have the freedom to choose to live in a place that most closely resembles their ideal society.

The current liberal approach to government is to continue to expand the power of the Federal government and to force everyone into the same cookie-cutter society that fits their ideals.

Abortion would be regulated. I don't like it, but I don't think you could ever get rid of it.

The borders would be closed to illegal immigration, but not legal immigration. If people want to come to this country that's fine. You just have to do it legally.

There would be budget surpluses so the national debt would start shrinking.

Social welfare programs would be reformed in some cases, cut in others, and others would be slowly eliminated, so people who need it get it but younger/richer people can plan to not have it.

EDIT: Also, business would be fair. Big companies wouldn't be getting special treatment over others. They would all compete and be subject to the same laws (*cough*health insurance companies and ant-trust laws *cough*)

And there would be no bail-outs. If you screwed up your company, you deserve to fail.

    No Federal Reserve

A re segregated America. Poor whites again firmly under the illusion of the inherent superiority of their skin color while being exploited by a corporate elite skilled at whipping up white populism in order to keep their coffers overflowing.

An isolated and backward America while the rest of the world becomes increasing globalized and tech savvy, with highly educated engineers building the future outside of America's shores.

A lack of diversity leading to a rigidity of thought and a purely greed fueled society, leaving others by the wayside and thus increasing societal tensions.

In other words a tim bomb just waiting to explode!

Abortion would not be outlawed. That's a major misconception about conservatives is that they are all "pro life"....they are not.

The borders shut to illegals. Yep, that'll do it. You come here with legal papers (visa, etc.), then Welcome....if not, take a hike.

Taxes would be low, jobs would be plentiful, companies would not be fighting these environmental wackos who really don't care about then environment.

Corrections: Abortion would be legal, but restricted to women with health problems, rape and incest victims. Borders would only be closed to ILLEGAL immigrants with no visa to go to work.

Tax incentives for corporations to hire here. Tax vouchers for low income children to go to private schools, which creates the incentive for public schools to increase their quality or lose money to private schools. AND let parents decide which district they want their children to go to school.

Decrease government size, decrease gov. fraud & waste.

More jobs for ALL people, regardless of education level. Low cost of living, higher standard of living. There are no homeless because they have jobs and live in apartments and homes.

Allow people to buy insurance across state lines (more choices, more competition and lower costs). No gov. intrusion on how doctors treat their patients, increasing quality.

Yes baby murder would be outlawed life would be determined by a heartbeat just like death is. Taxes would be low just like unemployment. Welfare and other social programs would have a time limit like unemployment benefits. Our military would be strong, and if leaders decided to go to war the generals would get what they needed to win.

Running weapons to Iran, running cocaine up from Central America, training the future Al-Qaeda in Afghanistan, delusional senility would be the highest form of patriotism...

    It would look like America.

    Government would obey the law.

Our Constitution is not a secret document. Look it over. It articulates "our" country pretty-well.

You liberal "Nazi-mongers" are amusing. Not one of you can cite a way your life has ever been balked by "conservative law" nor has one of you ever made it through your morning coffee and poop without encountering liberal controls. You literally point to anyone OPPOSING fascism and scream "Nazi!"
