I got this really nice jacket for the winter and I want some practical, hopefully somewhat fashionable boots to go with it, and a hat to?

  • Why do existentialists beleive we are alienated from the universe?

I understand how they came up with the absurdity of life and radical freedom, but how does that cause alienation from the universe?

  • just spilled nail polish all over the place, how do I clean it up?

I keep my nail polish in a cosmetics bag that just fell from my window sill. One of the bottles broke and spilled in tho container and all over the other bottles. I took it to the bath tub, which made an even bigger mess because now I've got dark red nail polish all over the bath tub and on my hands. What do I use to get if off? I've tried soap, but no luck.

  • a scarf for a gift? bad/good idea?

My friend's birthday is coming up and I'd like to get her an infinity scarf from American apparel. The problem is, I'm not sure if this is a good idea or not. Is that a tacky gift? I think its really nice and plan on getting one for myself, i just don't if receiving one as a gift would be appreciated. Its not cheap either, so I won't be able to add much, if anything at all to it. It's a $50 scarf, but it is still a scarf at the end of the day?

    What do you all think?

  • which job would you choose?

currently I work in retail. It's great because its flexible, I've made a lot of friends and I get a discount on all of my clothes. It sucks because the pay isn't great and I'm a university student, so it gets expensive. Also, I shop so much more because I'm always at the mall.

I've just been offered a position at a company I use to work for. its not very stressful, so I could easily focus on school. Its an office type job so sometimes when its quiet I could even get some reading/assignments done. The pay at this place would be a lot better, but not as flexible. Also, I've left this place before because I was bored, but while working there I never had to worry about money.

So, boredom and good pay vs. flexibility, friends and discounts on clothes?

I have "friends" on my windows live profile that I've never added. How come they show up as friends?

You know when you sign in to check e-mail, on the right it has friends and then thumbnail pics.

  • Why won't he talk to me? I don't get it?

after being in a relationship for a year and a half that ended a few months ago, the other half won't speak to me. The relationship was great but it ended because he couldn't handle being in one with all the craziness that was going on at the time. So it didn't end horribly as in there was no cheating or hating each other or anything like that, but the break up was messy because I didn't want it to end. He told me he still loves me, and still cares. I'm having a hard time moving on and feel I need some sort of closure. But every time I try to speak to him he completely ignores me. I've tried everything from pouring my heart out, to a simple "hello", but every attempt goes ignored. I don't know what to do and I'm sick of feeling rejected

  • How can I correct spoon shaped nails?

I recently found out I have low iron. I've had spoon shaped nails for a while now (years), but I've always thought that it was just normal for me. I discovered today that that may be caused by iron deficiency.

So how can I intake more iron? Should I take a supplement? How long will it take to correct my nails? I really hate the spoon shape thing

Also, if i do take a supplement, does it have to be prescribed by my doctor?

  • Is there a way to track an already sent e-mail?

I sent an e-mail to someone and didn't get a response. I was wondering if there was a way to tell if they've opened it and just didn't reply. I know of didtheyreadit.com and readnotify.com, but it seems those only work for future e-mails. I want something for I guess past e-mails. I'm using hotmail if that makes any difference.

    thanks

  • can someone help me understand this quote?

Your past is a skeleton walking one step behind you, and your future is a skeleton walking one step in front of you. Maybe you don't wear a watch, but your skeletons do, and they always know what time it is. Now, these skeletons are made of memories, dreams, and voices. And they can trap you in the in-between, between touching and becoming. But they're not necessarily evil, unless you let them be.

What you have to do is keep moving, keep walking, in step with your skeletons. They ain't ever going to leave you, so you don't have to worry about that. Your past ain't going to fall behind, and your future won't get too far ahead. Sometimes, though, your skeletons will talk to you, tell you to sit down and take a rest, breathe a little. Maybe they'll make you promises, tell you all the things you want to hear.

Sometimes your skeletons will dress up as beautiful Indian women and ask you to slow dance. Sometimes your skeletons will dress up as your best friend and offer you a drink, one more for the road. Sometimes your skeletons will look exactly like your parents and offer you gifts.

But, no matter what they do, keep walking, keep moving. And don't wear a watch. Hell, Indians never need to wear a watch because your skeletons will always remind you about the time. See, it is always now. That's what Indian time is. The past, the future, all of it is wrapped up in the now. That's how it is. We are trapped in the now.

I have no idea what its trying to say. it's from the novel "The Lone Ranger and Tonto Fistfight in Heaven" if that helps
