  • Have we reached new lows?

OK, I understand that churches have the right to do whatever they want, but this man was a combat veteran. He was a hero, no question. So how can this sort of thing not outrage people?

  • What if it had said "I am a preteen and want to know?

more about Wicca? Or about Islam? You are all usually SO up in arms about questions from adults on those subjects, what would your advice have been then?

  • Did everyone forget the tea party?

Friday is supposed to be the Hell in a Handbasket tea party. I think some of my super-sensitive non-beliver brethern have forgotten that, for some of us, today IS already Friday.

  • Why do people take additions to documents as proof?

that this is a "Christian" nation?

My personal favorite is "One Nation UNDER GOD" - see it's always been that way. Did nobody study US History? Under God was added during McCarthy's red scare, for proof that you weren't a communist.

Does anyone have a logical explanation for this? Especially when the Constitution, The Declaration of Indpendence, etc all stress separation of church and state?

  • I've been blocked?!?!?

First off, this is NOT a rant. I am just wondering the purpose of blocking people that don't believe what you do. Talk about self-fulfilling prophecy, if you only allow users that believe like you do to answer your questions, then of course you can justify your beliefs.

Does anyone else feel the same?

  • Less stressful?

My husband and I have a year and a half old female cat. She is very much our own little fur person, sleeps on our bed, cuddles us when we watch tv, etc. We are planning on moving from CA to NY in the fall, and expect to drive cross country. Here is my dilemma. Should we A - have her board here with friends until we settle in or B- acclimate her to the car now, and bring her with us?

Part of our dilemma is that she has never been apart from us since we adopted her last June. We spent 2 nights away from home since then, and both nights, she was all but frantic when we returned. Other cat lovers, what would you do? I want to cause the least amount of distress to my pet as possible.

  • Moral dilemma?

Ok, I never thought I would have this question to ask, but here goes.

I am a pagan, something my family knows nothing about. This has never been a problem before, as they live on the East Coast and I live in CA. However, we are planning to move back east to be closer to them.

Here is my problem. My entire family is deeply Catholic. On the few occasions I have gone back in the past decade, I have avoided Mass except for funerals, where I would attend out of respect to the dead (my grandfather and father) but not participate in Communion.

Once we move back there, I must make a choice. I can either attend a Mass I feel nothing for, and risk offending the truly devout that are there, by my very presence. Or I can not attend, and run the risk of hurting my 84 year old, very Catholic grandmother.

Pagans and Christians alike, what do you recommend? I don't want to hear about how I need to accept Jesus. I want to know how to protect her feelings without compromising my beliefs.
