What if it had said "I am a preteen and want to know?
more about Wicca? Or about Islam? You are all usually SO up in arms about questions from adults on those subjects, what would your advice have been then?
And how can ANYONE find fault with Orion that he is trying to make us aware of this?
I am Wiccan. I get more thumbs down for those 3 words than anything else I can say online.
And the outright HATRED shown to Muslims on here is sickening. SO, I chose 2 examples of people that aren't well received on this site.

I'd say that legally, I cannot discuss religion with them - of any sort - unless and until I have written legal consent fromtheir parents - and in an internet situation, I'd want that consent snail mailed to me, signed AND notarized.
I refuse to teach anyone else's child religious issues without that consent - all the legal implications are mind boggling.
I would also tell the child to go get their parents or guardians and ask them first, and that they should NOT be accepting emails from strangers, and NOT to give out any personal information about themselves.
Too many sickos out here - and they hide under the guise of religion as well.
Orion was right.

If i was a valid authority on the subject, then i would inform them to the best of my knowledge. I would also advise against asking such a question on the internet though. Isn't that what parents and teachers are for?? Just my opinion, but isn't it sad that kids are choosing the internet over the library to find out about things?
And I think Orion is totally right.

Id say as a preteen go ask your Mommy.
Yes I thought Orion's idea was a wonderful one on here.
Kids are very vulnerable on the net.

First, you shouldn't be on the internet message boards without adult supervision. Otherwise, I don't have a problem answering questions. However, I would advise you to talk to your parents/guardians about your questions first. If they don't help I'd talk to someone you know personally and trust.

Preteens don't call themselves preteens these days, do they?
I don't fault Orion, I applaud what he is doing... he's a man of conscience...
I just don't believe alot of what people say about themselves on internet forums...

I never try to hinder education. Especially when someone asks for it like you suggest. God punished Adam and Eve for learning. How despicable!

why would you categorize wicca with islam? lol wow. The number of deaths in the name of wiccan believe must be staggering. Yeah right...

I would still say there is nothing wrong with a preteen asking questions in this forum, and it is up to their parents to warn them about engaging in discussions beyond the forum or giving out personal info.

as a preteen you should not delve into these subjects without your guardians being aware of it --if-- they are the type to care

I'd say, as a preteen, DONT get brain washed. Enjoy life, not something you cant see.
